I could send you some, but the shipping would be brutal!
hehe, just saw this.
I actually saw some at the show the last day. If I had put more thought into it I would have had little battery powered blinking Christmas lights to wrap around them and would have made some kind of deal to rent them from the guy!

And an update. I've been working on it with some set backs. I may have a job. Away from home in a hot dusty place for a while in about a month, so the pressure is really on to get the rough draft done. Of course I had 8 pages freshly typed when my Mac glitched in such a way that I lost them, unrecoverable. That was particularly challenging because I was writing through a bit of a block.

My personal philosophy on writer's block is that it's really a kind of cop out for a lot of things. You can't just sit around lamenting that you have writers block if you want to be a writer, you have to write through it, knowing that if it sucks you will have to re-write it. But you write through the block to get back to inspired writing.

Anyway, there I was typing all day and getting through the block and I lose it all. First of all I figured I'd have to re-write it anyway and I have. Secondly, any time I lose something some how, I'm reminded of an incident with Hemingway. He's just completed a manuscript. I don't remember which one, The Sun Also Rises or maybe For Whom The Bell Tolls and he's got it in his brief case in a train station some where in Spain. The brief case gets stolen...
An entire typed manuscript and he has to start all over from page one. Ugh.

Also, I've got a Charles Sage facebook page set up. I really am not big on social media, I'm not even sure I know how I'm going to use it. It was one of those deals where someone I don't really know, went out of their way to tell me they were compelled to tell me to do it for my writing, so I kind of felt compelled to listen to them. I'll try to post pictures there that my readers might enjoy.

I've done 12 pages so far today and I'm just going to write all weekend to try to get this done by Sunday night. Of course that's when the work really begins.

Owner has bought the book and apparently has read it.

He didn't say much but threw it down on my "shelf" saying "Ok, I'm done - you can ruin this one next."

Owner knows I'm tough on the printed word. I can read a book if it's laid flat (I turn the pages with my tongue.) And if it falls on the floor I can tell from the moisture on the pages where I was interrupted.

I'm looking forward to this...

I'm about half-way through Potters' Run- reading it for the second time. Will do the same with Potter's Stand. Trust me, second time through is even better than the first. It's like visiting again with good friends, and little nuances are picked up that give depth to the plot. Can't wait for Potter's War to come out. As for those computer "glitches," if you don't have Time Machine or some way to back up on the cloud (no, I'm not recommending the latter!) perhaps you could regularly send copy as an attachment to a family member or close friend...let them serve as "backup." It's the pits to lose original copy!

Thanks for all that. I'm far to paranoid to save anything to the cloud. I looked at time machine and I would need to plug in a hard drive and I would always forget that. I do actually mail copies to myself and some other people every chapter or so. It was just that those 8 pages were particularly hard to get through. I've rewritten it and hope to be finished with the rough draft today or tomorrow.

Hey everyone, first off, still working on editing and revising Potters' War. Taking longer than I hoped, but a new job has come up and I had to devote time to training for that. The manuscript is complete, but I really want to make it the best, most polished of the three. Hopefully it will turn out to be worth the wait.
I'll be doing a book signing at the Panhandle Preparedness Expo in Sandpoint, Idaho this weekend if anyone is interested in stopping by.

Does this book also give rise to the idea that people should resist being conscripted into a 2nd civil war, by some lunatics on the far right, who are just itching to get it on?

Asking for a friend.
The Left, Antifees BLM and the Federal Mafia have already provoked that violent civil unrest unchecked and unopposed. Where is this, who is this Right Wing "lunatics" you allude to? Asking for all of us, not just friends.

Recently, it's been a few clowns in a "militia" in Michigan. I said there were some. I have no idea how many.

Had a great time at the preparedness expo, lots of great people stopped by. Lots of interest in the books and I got to meet a TB2Ker in the wild!
I'll keep the individual's identity confidential, but it was an enjoyable conversation. Potters' Run is up free as an e book through the rest of the night. I'm going kick back by the fire pit now. Not being a people person by nature, I'm kinda peopled out.

Yes, it was ME! Hey, it was great to meet you yesterday at the preparedness expo. I bought your book and am looking forward to reading it. Enjoyed our conversation and look forward to seeing you again. Stay safe.
I didn't forget, just wasn't sure I should get specific. Thanks for the support, I hope you enjoy the read!

I agreed this looked a wee bit too clean, but whatta I know :: shrug ::

Here's the cover that's been proposed for our next episode. Check it out at his face book digs, or hang out at your favorite book selling venue and anxiously await it's being dropped!

I'm trying to have one of my kids 'dirty it up in 'post production' as they call it. I'm still diligently editing Potter's War, I really want it to be the best of the three.

Thanks,
I'm working on it. I just got a regular job for the first time in a year and a half and I'm so thankful for it, so a regular paycheck and insurance kind of takes the priority now, but I assure you I'm working to get Potter's War done and make it the best of the series so far.

Just grind at your pace my friend and will be patient...........well?

Having finished Potters Run, I'm now looking over my shoulder on this.

The "capabilities" of the Government were a revelation for me. The acronyms were a challenge. I always assumed if someone wanted to "disappear" - it wouldn't be that hard. But perhaps that is a "I've decided to leave" which is different than a "I have to get out of here."

The book survived me - barely. By the time I was on the last dozen or so pages, it was getting VERY limp. I had to kind of "make up" some in my mind where the printed word had failed entirely.

Kudos to the book-binder.

Too bad about one of the principle characters. Yunno - I never really believed what happened - and there was only the statement by Tom of what the final turn was. Was not the body ever uncovered?

It would make an interesting sequel to have Tom "doing a save." And the character will turn up alive in the next installment.

Notice I haven't really given anything away in the two paragraphs above. No spoiler here.

AND - I want to get to know this "Betsy" better. I hope she gets a reprise in the next installment.

Hmm. This is a reader base I hadn't considered. I'm doing the final edits of the third book and Betsy is actually mentioned in the last sentence!

In the home stretch!

Sorry it's taken so long, and again thank you for all the support here. I'm working on the final edits and hope to have Potter's War available this weekend. In the mean time, I've got Potters' War available as a 99 cent ebook through the weekend for anyone who hasn't read it yet.
Now back to work.

Thanks, have you read Potter's Stand? I really am trying to make every book better than the last. I'm eager to see how people feel about Potter's War.
Yes I did! I'm sorry, I thought Potter's Run was in 2 books. Potter's Stand is excellent too, keep up the good work!

Whew, thanks. You're the first review (and a fast reader! I envy that!), I've been suddenly nervous about this one, I really hope everyone likes this one as much as the first two. It would be great if you could leave a review on Amazon, thats supposed to help with the algorithms or something. Thanks again!

Hi all, just wanted to thank everyone again for their support. Wound up going overseas for a while on a new gig and started a new book, a departure from the Potters' Run story line.
I thought some folks might be interested in the podcast interview I gave regarding Potters' Run. It's the first time I've done something like that and it was fun and interesting. A challenge for an introvert like myself, but I think I did alright.
It's just under an hour long:

"None of them are on our side." 17:10. Spot on!
"We've had an explosive decompression; we need to put our own mask on before we can help anyone else in the world" 30:40. YES!
The young man interviewer seemed rather grounded and intelligent.
great interview overall!
