CRISIS Ebola: National Guard commandeering people

Meadowlark... I didn't know you were Drewish....

Seriously... If this is true than there must be more than we are being told.

Its from an old joke where a rabbi is passing through a fantasy land filled with trids. Giants who live in the same land keep kicking the trids. So the rabbi goes to the king of the giants to complain and the king says silly rabbi Kicks are for trids.

as for the secret mobilization of skilled personal, it makes all too much sense. Such plans have been likely in the place for decades as a legacy of the cold war. Nothing we can do about it. Just be prepared to hunker down in place for a while if told to do so and limit your public contact in the mean time.

Well then perhaps your wife missed something in translation because as dramatic as that sounds, "Nat Guard showing up at the door" is just not the way this would be handled.
Just sayin'

Can you elaborate? I kind of agree, though. Why would it be the National Guard that shows up?

NOT an EO either.

Google Medical and Special Skills Draft. Part of the Draft Law on the books.
Thanks for the clarification. Does this law require some sort of emergency declaration in order to implement it?

Nope. It's there ready to use.

Though the back story goes back to the TRIX advertising where the main character says to the RABBIT trying to "steal" TRIX "Silly Rabbit, TRIX are for Kids".

I'm really curious why the military, aka NG, wouldn't send an NG to force civilian to do this. Especially one with a specific skillset such as this. I mean, the NG has been used for every facet of civil disturbance imaginable. I would also suspect the NG wasn't the only agency in attendance there.

I guess I'm not getting an answer huh. What few realise is this, with a simple title change between Title 10 and Title 34 and vise versa, NG comes under federal juridiction. So would a fed with a couple of NG show up, to stronge arm a civvie during an implied national crisis, I would guess yes.

Anybody who has been in the volunteer military serves two component parts of his or her enlistment. The first is called active duty and is whatever term of enlistment they volunteered for. The second one is called either active reserve, National Guard or inactive reserve.
Inactive reserve is exactly as long as your first enlistment and usually means little if anything. It also depends on what your MOS, military occupation specialty was. If you had a medical MOS, you "may" be more likely to be recalled during an officially declared "emergency" or martial law. Still, the fact "they" tried to recruit her shows they are desperate and doing things they don't normally do.

This tells me the Ebola situation is much worse than the CDC etc are admitting it is. It also shows "they" are starting to make the kind of moves that will be required to deal with a much larger Ebola epidemic down the road.

Kris, I was a Army medic some 40 years ago. When Doomer Doug gets his activation orders, I will be sure to let y'all know. <G>

And under the NDAA they CAN force you to work, and if you refuse, off to the Sec of Counter Terrorism you go, and from there......................yup, indefinite detainment.

A colleague’s wife has done DNA work in the past for the Center for Disease Control. She doesn’t work there anymore. This morning National Guard soldiers and someone from the government showed up at their doorstep. They wanted to commandeer her to go work in Dallas on the Ebola outbreak. My colleague managed to stop the commandeering by contacting his wife’s doctor and having the doctor say she is unable to travel and work away from home. Without the medical excuse they were actually going to force her to go to Dallas. My colleague says the Ebola problem is much worse than they are telling us.

Hmm, I just told my family to stay away from my neighbor who
is an intensive care nurse. A few days ago she said she hooked
up with FEMA and Homeland Security
. If they commandeer anyone it
would be her. She even said something about traveling on her
new job. I don't get it, and didn't get a chance to ask her if she still
works at the hospital, or is she allowed to travel on FEMA work then
go back to her job. She is the type of person who has quite a bit of
"excitement or drama" in her life. Normally I don't see her for weeks
on end because her main residence is at another location.

In CA, if you are a public employee (school, library, water district, city, county) you are automatically a disaster service worker and can be ordered to report anywhere and for any work they want you to do in a declared disaster. Doesn't matter if you are a single parent or caretaker for your parents if they decide they need you.

No worries my friend. I don't want to feed a fire of panic, but people need to be aware of what is happening. I agree with DD above, this may be bigger than they are saying.

That explains a lot, she is already in the system and can go to work without a large train-up time.

My colleague says the Ebola problem is much worse than they are telling us.

Comment from DaddyO in the comments section of this article includes a Dallas police comms alert stating that two more Ebola victims have been diagnosed in the Dallas area (besides Thos Duncan):
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-10-02/doctor-boards-atlanta-flight-hazmat-suit-protest-lying-cdc

If this alert is legit, and it looks to be so, then your colleague's conclusion appears to be substantiated.

On fox news right now doctor is saying CDC is lying about threat of ebola to U.S.
He said airports are NOT screening.

unless they are detaining passengers for 3 weeks in order to get fully developed "tests" of blood, no they are NOT screening.

if all they are doing is measuring body temperature, then any victims with no visible symptoms yet developed can easily carry the virus to another continent and get through the airport and ensconced in a big city somewhere before finally developing full blown symptoms.

this is already too late. if they had shut down the airlines 4 months ago, we could have had a chance. the ones who didn't shut down the airlines are either demonic criminals, or mind-blowingly stupid morons. hard to tell the difference...

To me Yes.
If they are invoking this measure for such a small group of suspected individuals it tells me that they are gearing up for something bigger.

I agree. Bigger that they can already see on the horizon, as in tsunami in the harbor.

I need to correct myself, he vomited on the sidewalk in front of his apt, not a store as I read earlier. Here is a picture News 8 captured.

Does this look like ANYONE is taking this seriously?!?!?

HD Chopper 8 caught crews cleaning the sidewalk outside the Ivy Apartments where the #Ebola patient stayed.

Several Tweet decks state, NO ONE is being screened at airports, no matter WHERE they arrive from. Plane laid over at Dulles, before going on to Chicago per numerous tweets.

My memory could be mixing and matching, but I recall that he vomited at a store as well, and in fact, was vomiting for several days.

I would be shocked beyond belief if any less than ten or fifteen people caught ebola from him.

Family of ebola patient initially did not comply with order to stay home

Mercy Kennedy, 9, cries as she learned her mother has died, outside her home in Monrovia, Liberia, Thursday Oct. 2, 2014. Kennedy's mother was taken away by an ambulance to an Ebola ward the day before.

The family of America's first Ebola patient initially did not comply with an order to stay at home, Dallas officials revealed Thursday amid a scramble to eliminate any chance of the deadly disease spreading.

About 100 people may have had at least brief contact with Thomas Eric Duncan before he was isolated in a Dallas hospital, officials said Thursday, but four members of the 42-year-old Liberian man's family are of particular concern.

Police officers on Thursday took up posts outside the family's Dallas apartment to ensure compliance with an official order to stay, County Judge Clay Jenkins said in an afternoon news conference.

"They were non-compliant with requests to stay home," said Jenkins, who did not elaborate.

The news came hours after Liberian officials announced they intend to prosecute Duncan for allegedly lying about his interaction with Ebola just before flying from that country to America last month. Meanwhile, the Texas Senate has scheduled a hearing on the state's response and readiness in handling Ebola, the Associated Press reported Thursday afternoon. The hearing is set for Tuesday.

Duncan wrote on a pre-flight questionnaire obtained by the Associated Press that he had not cared for an Ebola patient or touched the body of anyone who had died in an area affected by the disease.

Neighbors have said they believe Duncan became infected when he helped bundle a sick pregnant neighbor into a taxi a few weeks ago and set off with her to find treatment.

"He lied on his form," said Binyah Kesselly, chairman of the Liberia Airport Authority, in announcing the looming prosecution. "If he had answered truthfully, he would have been sent to secondary screening immediately and not allowed to leave."

Duncan left Liberia on Sept. 19, flying from Brussels to Washington, D.C., and then on to Dallas-Fort Worth, arriving the next day to visit relatives, according to airlines.

The screening isn't being done here. They are relying in the people in Africa to screen the people for symptoms before they are allowed to board the plane.

The only real screening they can do is FLIR (infra-red) cameras at the incoming gates.

This might see someone with elevated body temperature...if they are at that stage of infection.
