HEALTH e-Cigarettes - Any long-time "vapers" out there?

I'm in the process of kicking analogue smokes to the curb. Post-divorce depression drove me to smoking and, naturally, addiction.

Recently, I bit the bullet and decided to try "vaping", so I purchased an electronic cigarette to help smooth the edges of withdrawal symptoms.

Naturally, I was concerned about the safety of inhaling propylene glycol and nicotine - although it seemed like a no-brainer when compared to the tar and countless other toxins I was burning into my mouth and lungs with analogues.

I decided to do some research on the subject, and most sites indicate that the market is still too young to give any indicators of long-term risks, although in the short term, there seems to be few.

Then it got interesting. During my quest, I stumbled upon an article citing research of propylene glycol mist done as far back as the 1940s, revealing that not only was it non harmful, but that the research indicated strong protection against both pneumonia and influenza when administered to lab rats. I found that quite surprising.

I'm just curious if anyone here that is in the medical field could share any insight into the matter, and also if there are any long time "vapers" in the crowd that can share their experience. :-)

I fall on and off the vaper bandwagon. So far I like the "NJoy" brand the best.

Looking forward to what others are doing on this topic.
