I was a huge fan of the Dixie Chicks before they fired Laura and hired Natalie. They were a very good bluegrass / western band. I have watched them in a small open amphitheater, a church and a small theater. They are local to the Dallas area and the ability of the 2 sisters that are still with the band, and that helped start it, are very good. I have met Natalie's dad at a small venue here in north Texas and he seemed nice but we did not discuss politics. He plays a really mean steel guitar. I have the first 3 albums that the band self released and still think they were better back then. One thing that I have heard is the Laura, after she was forced out, married a Texas rancher that hit the lottery. Good for her!
