The characters are pithy, the situation interesting, and lots of ways this story could go.

I know during WW2 when the man had no middle name they used his mothers maiden name. Happened to all my husband’s uncles who served because they didn’t have middle names.

General Norman Schwarzkopf had no middle name. At west point this was a problem, so they Added "NMN" No middle name to his records and dog tags. according to his Autobiography "It Doesn't Take A Hero."

As so often happens to us all, RL got in my way and this story sort of escaped my attention. I made a conscious effort and got all caught up over the last 4-5 days.

As usual, playing catch up in KiF_Land gave me a small host of new-to-me recipes and foraging hints. Then of course there is the story; yet another well conceived tale.

One more time again then Kathy: thank you. for another finely crafted story and a few more dozen recipes.
