BRKG ***CONFIRMED... Iran's Qassem Soleimani killed in US airstrike*** (i.e. BUCKLE UP!) - Iran counterattacks

When this story first broke, I was not paying much attention to it, thinking it was just Iran bombing the airport, then I heard who got killed in the bombing.. WOW. Oh well.. Obama sends terrorists money, Trump sends terrorists a missile.

Yep, and Obama is probably sending them sympathy cards as we speak, with the line, "That's not who we are..."

Wikipedia HAS NOT YET updated Qassim Soleimani's entry to include his death - or the reasons why.

He kind of looks like Mr. Bean in this photo...

Maybe "baked bean" now.

Edit: 10:21 EST now shows his passing but no details.

SOMETIMES killing the most professional mil leader your opponent HAS is not QUITE the best action. Without Solliemani the reins come off and we may not be fighting professionals, which isn't all that good.

On the OTHER hand, he was going to die SOMETIME and the odds were NOT on his dying in bed.

Thanks Boss!!

(Now to verify the new Phone numbers for Green etc all)

frankly, we have waged these battles with that ideology for a very long time.
that is how all these guys ended up with gray beards.
it does not work - a professional military leader can always find fresh soldiers.

You are incorrect.

When the histories are written, Soliemanlie will be the #1 or #2 military commander since (and INCLUDING) Laurance of Arabia.

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
This does make a man think. Was this Trumps game plan, or a trusted military man's? Or, was it a deep state plan to get the ball rolling?

The repercusions are somewhat clear, or at least their options. The easiest is to tell the sleeper cells to go hot in the US.
Top down, bam it's underway. It's potentially end game USA, if they don't pull any punches. The grid is so vulnerable.

Perhaps they go all out after Israel as well. I'm sure if they do Israel, they do the US simultaneously.

Going tit for tat in Iraq serves them no purpose.

The question is how prepared is our military for their role, as things play out? How far will they pursue the enemy?
How prepared are we, if this does go south? I'd have an eye on things as I make some wise purchases.

Examining his Wiki Entry - he's no Nathan Bedford Forrest, but a fairly astute conservative manager. His military strength seems to have been the ability to bring differing groups together in common military goal.

More a diplomat manager than aggressive leader or strategist.

A former head of the IRGC has just promised that Iran will strike a strong revenge against the USA over the death of Qassem Soleimani

The assassination of Qassem Soleimani raises the stakes to a whole new level between Tehran and Washington. Without doubt one of the most serious moments between these two old enemies in 4 decades

Question: How is it that this guy's severed hand with his ring can be photographed and broadcast worldwide......but bin Laden had to be buried immediately and secretly at sea without any photos?

Different control of information. Trump acted decisively and quickly to send a message and left it for the enemy to clean their fouled nest. Obama planned (for months, possibly years in advance) to have the elimination totally in control.

We say "secretly at sea" - but who really knows? Maybe given a parcel of land and a beach adjacent to a US protectorate, a new identity and look, and enough cash to live up to his expectations.

I feel ya.......

Went and topped off the blazer, got the HDER tested and ready. Rechecked the BOB's. Jittery as a cat on a hot tin roof. And our internet here (FIOS) usually runs around 595mb/sec. It's down to around 95mb/sec. Stuttering like Mel Tillis; and THAT makes me real nervous. Someone close by is using a TON of bandwidth. Guess it goes well with the body bags stored there.
And I'm looking out the window for possible liquid sunshine to go with the rain tonight.
