WAR China Signals a Military Response to a Taiwan Visit by Pelosi

night driver

ESFP adrift in INTJ sea
Next question…. What will China do (this is certainly not over)?

> Take a few of Taiwan’s minor islands/rocks. May be enough to “save face”
> Close Taiwan strait to all air and sea traffic
> Totally embargo Taiwan, complete closure of airspace and shipping
> Cyber warfare; heavy and relentless
> Nothing

This question may be worthy of its own thread?

remember how the USA handled Japan in 35-38/39. We forced them to war by blockade (put plainly and not in Diplo-speak).

Notice how they have the island SURROUNDED.

I ask again--when is Pelousy supposed to leave? Hours? Or days? This starts Thursday....
Last I saw she will meet the Taiwanese president tomorrow and then leave tomorrow evening. She is only supposed to stay one night.

Chinese…they don’t like losing face

I'm actually thrilled she popped into the Republic of China (as Taiwan is officially known.) The ROC and KMT have been the official government of Taiwan AND the Chinese mainland since forever-it's just Chang Kai Shek and the rest of the KMT (Kumontang (sp)-the democratically elected Chinese govt) got chased off the mainland in 1949 by Mao and his communist rabble.
In 1950 the ROC's biggest export was apples............Now the ROC is one of the top 10 economies in the world. And it's one 50th the size of the ChiCom mainland. SCREW the ChiComs-the ROC is an independent, free, democratically elected govt (although it took until 1989 to draw down the martial law and attain political parties) and one I support 1000%. (and if there's pro ChiCom folks here like there are pro Russian folks, then flame away.)

Pelosi is generally a sot drunk idiot-but ya gots to admit she's got cohones.........Comrade Joe has said she's not there in an official capacity, at least publicly.....riiight...and Comrade Joe is a p*ssy. You can bet she's there in a FULLY sanctioned US .gov capacity. OR at least in a democrat party capacity. The trip will play well to the communists/democrats looking for "something"!!!! positive in the midterms. Consider that. But also consider she's delivering something official for the US .gov too. Something big enough to warrant delivering it in person.

Since I don't post in the BS anymore I won't speak about the puppets and the worker elves in the background at a few local places here in the last two weeks.

DO,Consider her visit a .gov visit.

The 737 she's cruising around in isn't her normal bird, from looking at the tail. And the bird she's in sure has a pretty new paint job (and the paint cost back in the 80's around 600 bucks a gallon). And there's FAR MORE Ma Bell fun and games in it too. Don't ask-don't tell.
Who else is riding with her on this world wide junket? (Or, more specifically-who got on the plane in Singapore and who got off?)

She is going to spend the night in Taipei. Talk about a morale booster for the Taiwanese. And it was probably set up that way-if a friend feels safe enough to stay in your home that says volumes about the relationship.

4 SU-35s from China were scrambled into the Taiwan strait as she came in to land-a hideously weak, ineffective guesture by the ChiCom military. Other planes did bust the Taiwan ADIZ though; figure on IL-76 AWACS variants, there's a flying boat type they use for AWACS duties as well. And Il-18 derivatives (think Soviet version of the P-3 Orion) too. Every single belch or fart the US party makes while there are going to be scooped and analyzed by the communists. (But good luck on that-if official calls are to be made by the US party they're going onto the their magic carpet to make them. And the commies will have a hellacious time trying to crack that).

The ChiComs have lost face in a HUGE way. They pushed and cajoled and threatened the US about her visiting the ROC-and the collective US .gov (but not our communist "leaders") told them "Bite me". Talk about egg on the Commies faces, it's delicious.
The Chicoms have pushed and presented themselves as a world power with global reach-yet couldn't get one boozehead US congress speaker (and a lady to boot) to aquiesce to their threats. That's the most hilarious thing at all. Pelosi cut the ChiCom's b*lls off. And I F'ing LOVE IT. All the hardware they have floating around in the Taiwan strait now readying for live fire exercises didn't scare her; neither did Winnie the Xi and his cult of personality.

Long live the ROC; and much respect to Nancy Pelosi. I don't like her politics or her drinking but she earned my respect on this trip.

The Chinese Army’s Eastern Theatre Command announced joint military action surrounding Taiwan, starting TONIGHT: 1. Joint maritime-aerial drills at northern, SW and SE parts of TW 2. Long-range firing on Taiwan Strait 3. Conventional missile firing in waters east of Taiwan

Sounds like Nancy won't get much sleep with all that noise going on....

China will save face in the the end.” THEY WILL ALLOW HER TO RETURN TO THE U.S. “ Once she lands back in the U.S. Xi will tell the world CHECK MATE. Her and the Dems will continue to destroy America. China wins without firing a shot.
Yeah and the dems get fired up and appoint her president.

Not Taiwan proper. They dont have the logistics. They could take some of the outlying islands at best IMO.

Quemoy island would be a good one for the commies to try and take over. They tried in 1954 and we actually sent planes and ships to help them at that time.

AND we sent some of the first AIM 9 Sidewinder IR air to air missles to arm their planes. Sidewinders tore UP! the Chinese air force at the time.

Here's some info on Quemoy and Matsu. I wasn't born when this happened but it apparently had quite a bearing on the 1960 presidential election.

China does have the world’s largest navy……..watch the weather, it’s all about if there isn’t any typhoons in the area to attack Taiwan. Spring and Fall are the most ideal times for attack, but that doesn’t matter when they needing to “saving face”.

Never rule out a hit at Guam, a U.S. territory instead of a Taiwan takeover if the CCP aren’t ready to take Taiwan right now

But -- no nukes in China, then?

(and 'officially' Taiwan doesn't have nukes--but some here have suggested they do--surreptitiously)

I'd be looking for lists of their RORO (roll on roll off) ships in country. The ChiComs may be massing all sorts of tanks and mechanized death machines on the coasts but they need to get it across the strait. And RORO's are the way to go.

On the flip side I'm praying there's lots of ROC agents looking at the same lists and packing those ships world wide with all kinds of energetic fun and games. Pop enough of them and send them to the bottom of the ocean floor and ChiCom's invasion dreams get dashed in a big way..

And I wanted to throw out an oddball thought for yall. Yall remember the treaty we and the Brits did last year giving the Australians nuclear attack submarines? Kinda caught the world off guard.

WHAT IF-we and the Brits extended that same treaty to the ROC?? That little move would definitely upset the balance of power in the Taiwan strait. And the ROC can afford them-they use some of the latest diesel electric subs in their navy.

Just a thought-but a game changer if it were to happen.
