Jerusalem: Arabs hurl stones at police in Old City
On 13th anniversary of Second Intifada, Arab youngsters attack officers near Damascus Gate and Rockefeller Museum

Following Friday prayers, young Arabs threw stones at police forces near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem's Old City. One officer sustained light injuries to his hand. Border Guard officers dispersed the rioters with stun grenades, among other crowd dispersal means, and arrested four people.
Police officers were also attacked with stones near the Rockefeller Museum in the capital. There were no reports of injury, and the Arab rioters were dispersed. Arabs also threw stones at police in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood.
Friday marked the 13th anniversary of the Second Intifada.
Police Commissioner Yohanan Danino arrived at the Old City and said his force had prepared in advance for the riots.
In light of intelligence information indicating that Arab youngsters were planning to riot after Friday prayers, Jerusalem District Police decided that entry to the Temple Mount would be restricted to Muslim men aged 50 and over.
Large police forces had been deployed from the early hours of Friday morning in east Jerusalem's neighborhoods, in the Old City and in the Temple Mount area.
On Wednesday police and Border Guard forces stormed the Temple Mount's plaza after several dozen Arab youngsters threw stones, firecrackers and tear gas at officers.
The past few weeks have seen a rise in the number of clashes between Arabs and police in Jerusalem. On Tuesday dozens of Arabs protested at the Damascus Gate and hurled stones at police. Some of them were waving PLO flags. Police arrested 11 suspected rioters.
Peaceful, unarmed protesters (per the Palis). "Unarmed" palis, because they aren't shooting guns (yet), those come later along with more rockets than have been happening for the last couple of months.
