I got one. They work on flys but you have to be close. And they don't work on wasps...lol

It might be better that they don't work on wasps - as long as the salt stings them real bad....paybacks, ya know.

My son loves his, but he was fooling around and shot me on the ankle... It hurts!!!
It does work on flies. He likes to shoot them when they land on the kitchen trash can.

A cheaper option would be a small spray bottle filled with alchohol. Just avoid food in the area. The spray seems too confuse them, probably by overloading their eye sensors, as it engulfs them.

Doesn't kill so much as incapacitates them long enough to stomp them like a bug...

One of my acquaintances got one for her hubby. He loves it, if just for the silly factor. She used it one day and thought it was hilarious. According to both, it works just fine on carpenter bees as well.
