BRKG BREAKING - Notre Dame fire: Smoke seen billowing from cathedral in Paris

Did we not see a huge fire? Perhaps accelerant needed, but there was a huge fire. If the oak truly would not catch and sustain, then we really have arson. If that is proven and released to public, then I sit corrected.

Of course there was a huge fire - we agree on that point - the question is, given the chief architect's sober assessment about how difficult it is to get ancient oak to begin to burn, implying an accelerant or other means of igniting into the flaming inferno we all witnessed, by what specific process was the inferno actually started?

Whether objective scientific-solid investigatory processes will be utilized in determining how the fire became an inferno, remains in question - as does whether TPTB will publish anything that does not fit their required EU-centric political narrative.

Where does the Roman Catholic Church fit into all of this, at this point - have any official statements been issued by the Holy See/Vatican?

Not one of the more useful comments, but post what suits you. SSB is not relevant and antennae is plural, so think it over.

ETA: Loaded how?

a loaded antenna has a tranformer to accomadate 50k watt input, without a ground to push energy it stores, till ground is achieved. i left spelling errors for you to make fun of, because the science you cannot dispute.

Isn’t RF an alternating flow? How would an alternating flow be “stored”?
Are you postulating that SSB would make the transmission “direct current” and storable in what you seem to be assuming to be a capacitor? My guess, with little experience, would be some kind of feedback to the transmitter, possibly damaging.
In any case, I cannot see any likelihood that there was an antenna and high power xmtr installed for the purpose of arson. Hence the reference in relativity to other highly unlkely events.

PARIS (AP) — French police scientists were starting to examine Notre Dame Cathedral on Thursday for the first time since last week’s devastating fire. Among their questions: whether cigarette butts from construction workers could have played a role.

Experts from three police agencies will take samples and search for clues as to what caused the blaze, a police official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to be identified in media reports.

Police made a preliminary visit last week but weren’t able to conduct a thorough examination until the cathedral’s structure was secured.

Teams in white helmets talked with firefighters outside the monument Thursday, while workers shored up the roof and sides of the 12th-century cathedral. Multiple cranes are positioned around the site, as the French president pushes for a speedy reconstruction after the fire consumed the cathedral’s roof and knocked down its spire.

Officials believe the fire was accidental, possibly caused by a short circuit linked to renovation work underway before the fire.

Workers involved in that renovation told investigators that they had smoked on the construction site and left behind cigarette butts, according to the spokesman Marc Eskenazi of Le Bras Freres construction companies.

“It’s not good. We condemn this,” Eskenazi told the AP. But he insisted that “a cigarette butt did not burn down Notre Dame. It’s just not possible.”

He cited investigators as saying the fire started inside the cathedral, while the workers were only on the roof. He said the last worker left the building at 5:50 p.m. the night of the fire, while the first fire alarm went off a half-hour later.

He said the worker switched off the electricity to the elevators and the lighting used for the renovation work before leaving.

The Paris prosecutor’s office wouldn’t comment on specifics of the investigation, but said all potential leads are being pursued. The prosecutor’s office and Paris police wouldn’t comment on a report in investigative weekly Le Canard Enchaine that electric cables to the cathedral’s bells had remained activated despite the renovation work.

While the cathedral will remain closed to the public for several years, tourists massed in the neighborhood Thursday to get a closer look at the damage and the work on the building’s facade.

France’s government presented a bill Wednesday aimed at speeding up the reconstruction of Notre Dame Cathedral and providing transparency on how huge amounts of donation money for the restoration will be spent.

President Emmanuel Macron has set a goal of rebuilding the cathedral in just five years —which some experts consider simply impossible to reach.

I'd have to see some tests before accepting that statement. A blowtorch on a bare surface doesn't do it. I'm flat out of 800-year-old oak, myself.

After Notre Dame, France Breaks Its Silence on Radical Islam

"For years, French daily Le Monde was one of the pillars of France’s large-scale campaign of silence regarding the greatest problem the country, Europe, and the West in general have with radical Islam: Faced with increasing violence on the part of large immigrant Arab and Muslim communities in the Parisian suburbs, France’s elites and the local establishment have created an alternate reality in which one cannot call the problem by its name.

Terrorism wasn’t really terrorism, but a reflection of an inferiority complex, cultural differences, and the challenges of assimilation. The cause of Muslim violence was eternal colonialism. Muslims could not be murderers and criminals because they were forever destined to remain victims of Western supremacy. And, of course, the murder of Jewish men and women by Muslims is never an expression of Muslim antisemitism, but the result of temporary insanity brought on by the excessive use of drugs or the onslaught of an unexplained psychotic attack.

With the trauma of the Notre Dame cathedral fire still burning fresh in the nation’s collective mind, Le Monde appeared to change direction, daring to publish the findings of a government report that determined that in 2018, France saw another dramatic increase in the number of anti-Christian attacks, including the desecration and destruction of churches and cemeteries.

In 2018, France recorded 1,063 anti-Christian attacks compared to 1,038 the previous year. This is 1,000 attacks per year, Le Monde emphasized in its report, meaning an average of three per day. This is in contrast to the reported 541 antisemitic and 100 anti-Muslim incidents reported in the same time period. The report notes that in a majority of these incidents it was Christian structures and statues that were desecrated, though there were also a few dozen break-ins and incidents of property theft at churches across the country.

The reasons for these anti-Christian attacks vary, according to the report, and they are often perpetrated by satanic cults, anarchists, and neo-Nazis. But there is also evidence of anti-Christian activity by Muslims.

It should be noted that France’s Christian conservative media reported on the government’s finding two weeks ago, prior to the Notre Dame fire. Le Monde‘s decision to reference the report at this time is a sign that outside the right-wing segments of French society, the realization that silencing serious social and security problems does not help resolve but rather exacerbates them is beginning to seep in. The French may have fought to separate church and state, but that does not mean they intend to bury their religion.

The lesson here should be fairly straightforward: Those who remain silent on the murder and persecution of Christians in distant countries like Nigeria, Syria, Algeria, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka will find themselves persecuted at home. While there is no evidence that the Notre Dame fire was deliberate, the incident has opened a Pandora’s box for the silencers and the silent, sparking a public debate over the persecution of Christians in the very heart of Catholic Europe.

This discussion should not stir hatred, but it must redraw the borders of what French society is and is not willing to tolerate. Those who want to immigrate to France must adjust themselves to French society, and not the other way around. To the chagrin of our supposedly liberal media, this should also hold true for the rest of Europe and Israel as well."

This article is the journalistic equivalent of saying it's ok to be white. It will be interesting to see whether France is finally ready to confront reality, or instead meets this article with a storm of outrage against the writer.

Humm...

Over 1,000 anti-Christian attacks
541 anti-Jewish attacks
100 anti-Muslim attacks

Wow! that is a LOT of attacks mostly against Christians compared to the paltry Muslims!!!

That's a good article Minnesota and one can only hope for a chink in the liberal armor, but as soon as the people get "used" to Notre Dame being closed, and time goes on, they'll forget and slide back to their dysfunctional ways again.

Think of 911. Right after 911, churches were filled for weeks afterward but when the tedious work of cleaning began to get "tedious," with no new attacks, less and less was being reported, and less and less showed up in the churches. Of course, we know what happened to the country's mind think after that. The opposite. Muzzies can do no wrong.

Even though the Notre Dame fire brought Christian attacks to the forefront because it was deemed an "accident," how much do we want to bet the "anti-Christian" attacks are going to lessen or even disappear almost as fast as turning a spigot to the OFF position? (At least in France. Can't fuel the fire so to speak and risk the "chink" getting bigger, now can they?)
