I remember those caramels (though I hate raspberry). My mom always used to get them around Christmas time; they were so colorful. Nowadays, our candy treat is real dark chocolate salted caramels. Pricey, so not a chance of overindulging in those, lol.
Brachs makes (or made; I don't know if they still use the same recipe) the BEST lemon drops. I'm very prone to car sickness, so for years, every road trip I'd get a bag of their lemon drops and put them into a resealable container for the car. For a medical assist (on top of motion sickness med), of course.
(These days I've switched to a tin of these candies, either their pink grapefruit, or another of their flavors:
https://www.amazon.com/Torie-Howard-Organic-Grapefruit-Tupelo/dp/B008D8AA1K The tin is compact, saves me the work of transferring the candies to a container, and the candies are tasty and do the job (which is basically having something sweet/sour to suck on).)
For a while, for a quick sugar boost while hiking I'd also bring along some of Werther's coffee caramel hard candies (which is kind of funny, as I am not a coffee drinker - I only like a tiny bit of it, sometimes, as candy or ice cream). (But I couldn't always get those, so I later switched to small individual bags of the regular M&Ms (which you can find everywhere) for that purpose... )
If they made some of these candies with erythritol/monkfruit (not other sugar substitutes, especially not aspartame), I'd be willing to try them.
