Too many women are running Europe.

Margaret Thatcher was great but was surrounded by great men.

This country is no different.

Not looking to argue.
Not trying to change minds.

Just stating facts from my perspective.

FTR, I know little about the machinations of British goobermint. Not necessary for my above statement to be true.
The iron lady was a rare woman

wasn't it less than 48 hrs ago she was touting her fighting spirit and promising/threatening o push through & stay the course? Or was I watching The Stooges Alumni reruns?

In all seriousness, since Larry is too young for the job, there is the problem that probably no one currently available in EITHER main UK Party really has the right combination of high intelligence, cunning, charisma, fairness, and yet firm hand needed at an extremely dangerous time like this.

Women leaders CAN do this, but I'm sorry, much as I may be a strong supporter of some women (note the word some) being able to perform almost any role (though some like 6 foot Xena the Saxon Warrior lady are probably very rare); historically there are only a couple of types of women leaders who tend to do well during really hard times that combine with war (at least historically).

While some feminity is allowed (Maggie Thatcher dressed like a lady, and so did Elizabeth the First and the Second; Indira Gandhi wore saris), anything other than the occasional compassionate tear in public is seen as a sign of weakness. Historically at least in Europe and the US, to really do well they have to be able to hold their own with men, especially in a crisis, even if most women have somewhat different reactions to certain triggers, they can't show that if they want to remain a powerful force.

Liz Truss crumbled like a fragile egg in public (not just in private, like we know most of the above ladies did at one time or another on their husbands, lovers, fathers, or brothers' shoulders. This is my concern about Penny Mordant of who I know very little except her first "career" was as a magician's assistant. Unless she is one tough cookie (and I haven't seen any evidence of that) I think she could put the cause of strong women (the ones who can do it) in politics back for a generation at least in the UK. She doesn't have to be Maggie Thatcher, but she can't fall apart like Liz Truss or Teresa Mae.

As for the others, I won't bore people with details but BoJo's "Party Gate" was simply the "last straw" in a string of not-quite-legal or approved "activities" (including the funding for the wallpaper in the personal apartments at number 10 Downing Street) and he's not likely to stop pushing envelopes and constantly creating drama that distracts from the real drama about to hit everyone in Europe and the Isle smack in the face this Winter.

Rishi "Rich" man - is totally out of touch with the average person being so very-very wealthy and he's got an ego to rival that of Boris (which is hard to do). If times were not so dangerous, he might pull it off and he could surprise us as could "Penny" but as I said, I'm not even sure someone like Churchill could make lemonade out of the multitude of lemons facing the United Kingdom right now and even he had a very uneven record, he was just good at handling a war (and giving desperate people hope with inspiring speeches and leadership in a crisis). Even if he got voted out of office before it was all over, electorates can be unkind when the world is falling apart because no one human being is going to have all the answers.

So once again, Larry is looking really good, if he were just old enough for the franchise, at least I don't live there but I live in a place that shared a border on the same Island with part of the United Kingdom so this stuff does affect me and my household, if only indirectly.
