As far as I know, there is only one Hospital with a helo pad in the area and it's in Reno...I believe it's a level 2 trauma center.

Meh.

Never heard of him.
Renner was previously nominated for Best Actor at the 2010 Academy Award's for his performance in "The Hurt Locker."

Read his snow cat ran over his leg. Police are treating this like a crime scene.

Saying with all the safety features this should not have happened.

Sounds like a compound fracture...

Macgyver has an article posted now about this.

Marvel actor Jeremy Renner was airlifted to hospital on Sunday after accidentally running over his own leg with the snow plow he was using to clear his Lake Tahoe driveway.
Renner, a two-time Oscar nominee, was alone and trying to clear a path out of his Lake Tahoe home with his PistenBully, a type of snow groomer made by the German manufacturer Kassbohrer.
TMZ reports that the vehicle's safety features failed, and caused it to roll over Renner's leg, around a quarter mile from the property.
A neighbor who is also a doctor put a tourniquet on the injured leg to stem the bleeding, but Renner suffered significant blood loss by the time he was airlifted out of the scene at 9.50am.
The 51-year-old remains in critical but stable condition in the hospital.

It's unclear how long he's owned the PistenBully groomer, or whether he bought it second-hand.
Kassbohrer did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com's inquiries on Monday morning.
The type of PistenBully Renner owns is no longer available for sale on the company's website.
Similar models are described on second-hand sale sites as 'vintage'.
The actor's representatives confirmed yesterday that his family was with him in the hospital.
'We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today.
'His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.'

Never heard of the guy until that Bourne movie that didn't have Jason Bourne in it. That being said, the reporter who wrote the article needs to go back to remedial journalism school for sure, and I do hope he is able to recover from the snow plow accident.
One reason some of these stories are almost unreadable is cutlines (captions) are in the middle of the articles, which explains some of the repetition.

Not sure who this is, prayers for a quick recovery though.
While agree with a quick recovery even from ICU, not knowing who that is, means living off, off grid, for years.

And aren't you a bit indian? He was the hero in "Wind River". Ya know after the Wind River Res. in WY. Was the last Borne, and Tom Cruez's side kick in a couple of MI movies.

I also agree on the lack of info, how do you get in the ICU from snow plowing?

compound Femur or Compound Tib-Fib with a Popliteal Artery involvement. Yeah, a neighbor with a CAT would have saved his life.

He's also a Vollie Firebug, and a few other things in the 'Hood, and is trying to get a Fire Station closer to his part of the 'Hood.

Moving pictures is what he does so he can have the rest of his life.

BornFree, scroll up a bit and see what he uses as a "Snowplow". ICU becomes a LOT easier to understand assuming he tangled with THAT "MOREBARK SNOW REMOVER"....

Bet he had the cab door open and those tracks grabbed his leg.

Ouch!

For some reason he isn't my cup o' tea. He is alright as an actor. He has been caught for DUI a few times. Didn't he have a bad car wreck a few years ago?

I will say a prayer for him forsure.

I can see that rig being involved in a Compound Femur incident...
Not for the inexperienced operator I'd think - I think I read they're about 15-16000 lbs and those tracks look very wide to me. Pretty sure if the unit was moving and the operator tried to dismount, it would be ugly.

Orthopedic injury, compound femur & severe blood loss scream femoral artery to me; he's lucky to be alive because such wounds can bleed one out in minutes.

Marvel hero Jeremy Renner was helping stranded motorist when he was run over by his snow plow and suffered 'blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries'

  • The mayor of Reno revealed the actor was helping a driver outside his home
  • The accident left Renner in critical but stable condition
  • His representative said he suffered 'blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries'
Marvel actor Jeremy Renner was helping a stranded motorist when he was injured in a snow plow accident outside his Lake Tahoe ranch, the mayor of Reno has revealed.

Mayor Hillary Schieve said the 51-year-old Avengers star was assisting a driver stuck outside his home on the side of a snowy mountain Sunday when he was run over by his own vehicle. The accident left Renner in critical but stable condition with chest and orthopedic injuries.

'He was helping someone stranded in the snow,' Schieve told the Reno Gazette-Journal Monday night. She said she and the actor are friends and that she was called about the accident shortly after it happened Sunday morning near the Mt. Rose Highway that connects Reno to Lake Tahoe.

'He is always helping others,' she told the newspaper.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office explained what happened in a statement: 'At approximately 9:00am on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.

'Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.

'Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident.

'The Washoe County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the circumstances of the incident.'

TMZ has previously reported that Renner's snowcat's safety features failed and caused it to roll over Renner's leg, around a quarter mile from his property. The machine was built by the German manufacturer Kassbohrer.

A neighbor who happened to be a doctor was able to put a tourniquet on his injured leg to stem the bleeding, but Renner suffered significant blood loss by the time he was airlifted from the snowy scene at 9.50am.

Sheriff Darin Balaam has now scheduled a news conference at 3.30 pm PST Tuesday 'to clarify details regarding' the sheriff's office's response to the accident, the office said in a statement early Tuesday.

more at the site, but it is mostly repeats of previous info.

I’m quite familiar with the Windriver reservation, and many that lived and grew up there, while living just outside the rez limits in Lander and Riverton for 17 years…

Loved the movie…
