ALERT A Trucker Strike in November Could Be Another Nail in the Supply Chain Coffin

A truckers strike is like a farmers strike, they have never happened, at least in my lifetime. Too many independents that have to keep moving to make payments. Now if the Teamsters said they were striking that might get my attention.
At one time, all trucks moving up & down the highway were driven by Teamsters.

Today, the Teamsters are not as big of a force as they use to be. Only companies that I am aware of that have Teamsters members are UPS & Fed Ex, maybe a another one or two. The vast majority of trucks are operated by non teamsters.

Someone correct me if I am wrong !!!

The cancer drugs and stuff like that, would not be effected that much if the big rigs stop moving
for a bit. For 1 not as many people are getting their treatment right now so not as much of the drugs
are being shipped and moved. Those drugs as well don't get moved by big rig. they get moved in
the small courier vehicles and special flights. my sister delivers those special drugs to the different
hospitals so I know there is a different protocol for handling them.

Food is the critical item.

There is supposedly 3 days supply in the pipeline, at all times. Probably much less than that in stock at your local store.

Wallyworld is the biggest outlet, they have their own trucks from the distribution centers, with some amount of inventory.

WAG, their vulnerability will be transport to the DCs, independent truckers are probably used to supply them from manufacturers/producers.

5 days of strike might throw a whiplash in the system that will take weeks to level out.

I think most here know that the average home probably only has a 2 or 3 day supply in their house. Everyone should add to their household inventory !!

When the stores are empty, it will get bad !!!

Prepare accordingly !

Not sure how old you are but I remember a very significant trucker strike in the early 70's and it went on for a couple days. It was almost totally owner operators and did some serious damage. The National Guard was even called in.
I bet there is at least a quarter million owner operators today. Maybe more. That will put a serious dent in logistics if even half of those lock for a week.

I remember truckers using guns on other scab drivers. Wasn't pretty. Christmas coming up, Amazon doing their own thing, could get pretty dicey. Get your shopping done early.

If biden gets in they aren't going to be any jobs there anyway. You know new green deal....no gas
Right. Biden will reverse everything Trump has done and open the flood gates. Already, so many truckers are Sikhs. The head of the Sikh trucker union tried running for city council here and lost big time. His main thing was teaching Sikhism in public schools.

Never going to happen. You'd have better luck herding cats. Independent truckers are like independent. Contract drivers or company drivers would be fired.

At the very least, o hope people who are paying attention have prepped sufficiently.

I know we here, do anyway, but hopefully the patriot, average American will take this to heart also.

I know the liberal trash, will not. :)

On my trashbook feed, I see those haters constantly mock and deride people who prep accordingly, even to the point of blaming them/ us, for ALL of any shortages that happened with covid.

I hope they have learned how to wipe themselves with their hands.
No ones getting my toilet paper and preps.

The whole JIT system is a very well tuned thing. It's a non-stop production line.

There aren't a lot of trucks and drivers waiting to fill in gaps.

I can see a 10% outage causing kinks in the pipe.

20%....the right 20% would be a total mess. I doubt anyone has organized to that degree tho.

Simple.

Use their own system against them.

Go get covid tested. You are under mandatory quarantine until results are back in 2-4 days.
What’s that saying?: “Best way to get rid of stupid rules is to follow them”
I know that only works in certain cases but the only way to choke them and beat them is within their own system and use their own rules and regs against them. It pays to educate yourself.

Hell you don't even have to stop it, just slow it down some. How many of us have seen rigs going by us on the interstates like a bat out of hell. Slow walk the whole damn system. Company drivers too. Follow the absolute letter of the "spit" Law. That way some money is coming in, but the system can't take a total slowdown like that before something gives. No "shortcuts" to the destination. Take your time having it unloaded. slowwwww down. make em sweat. make em scream. When questions start coming in say "who ME?,I'm just driving like I am supposed to, hearing a lot on the CB about speed enforcements lately ya know, I can't afford the ticket" What did they used to say in commie countries "they pretend to pay us, we pretend to work" Kind of the same thing. Truckers, like most of us here, are VERY creative people :) :)

On the Stop the Tires FB page, I’ve seen some of them who have to drive talking about either just doing the speed limit or doing 45 mph in honor of Trump. There are lots of photos of trucks who have stopped. Also, those who are are driving, but support the movement, are tying red bandanas to their trucks.
