VIDEO 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

OK good. Chrysler capital can be a bit picky regarding dents and tires. With credit union you should be ok. Remember that worn tires aren't a normal wear item-if they're worn down to 3/32" the maker considers them worn and the customer has to pay for the replacement. That's what gets a lot of lease holders; that and using touchup paint to cover small scratches. Car makers consider touchup paint a substandard repair. With touchup paint used, now you have to respray the entire panel rather than that 1" scratch. And dealers hand out touchup paint like candy on Halloween, they want you to use it! Because they get the work to respray the touchuped panel when the car is turned in.

They’re aggressive off road tires. Much more than 3/32 left. No scratches at all. I do have a cracked windshield I need to replace.

Has No Life - Lives on TB
Ok, halfway through the video now; a couple of thoughts:

One, that's a LOT of screens inside. I'd bet that the production model has less of a "glass cockpit". And there's a LOT of exterior glass on the one shown; bet that's their "luxury" model. Most of the production models won't have an entirely-glass roof, which sounds cool until you leave the car out in the sun for a couple of hours, as many Tesla drivers have discovered to their extreme discomfort.

Two, that sequential light-up sequence is cute. Once. In real life, that's going to get silly and overdramatic very quickly.

Three, I think we might FINALLY be about to see a full-sized Ram SUV to compete with the GM Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon and the Ford Expedition. The headlight clusters on that Wagoneer are suspiciously similar to the new Ram pickup headlights. If FCA doesn't "borrow" the GW platform to build an equivalent Ram SUV line (presumably less luxurious and more workaday) they're idiots.

ETA: and I think they are consciously underbranding the GW, with almost no mention of the name Jeep, because they're trying to position it as more of a luxurious large SUV rather than a raw trail machine like the old GW and full-sized Cherokee were. It'll still be very capable offroad, but they obviously want to start competing with the other high-end off-road machines like Range Rover/Land Rover and the Toyota Land Cruiser.

Funny you should mention Tata Motors (Land Rover's owners, it's an Indian company) and upscale branding in the same breath.
It wouldn't surprise me to see this sold initially as a Jeep, then moved to another branding at some point. Ram might not be the brand they would move it to necessarily-I'd think-and I've heard rumbles of a new brand a la Honda/ Acura and Toyota/Lexus.
The GW is a pretty high end vehicle for Jeep, truthfully. The Grand Cherokee still sells like hotcakes but not having a 3 row SUV has hurt sales somewhat. Making a new brand, or bringing back an old FCA brand to label it with would make sense. It would give either Jeep (or Ram) a new marque to sell and bring in customers. And the new GW is squarely aimed at the Range Rover/Navigator crowd-Jeep gives it a touch of off road credibility. Which helps diffrentiate it among the other luxury level SUV's .
Tata motors would dry up and blow away without the north American market to sell their vehicles-it was either 2018 or 2019 they took a 39% hit in sales of diesel models (which we don't get here-their diesel Land Rover motors are made by Mazda). They need every sale they can get.

And didn't know if you were aware, but there was actually a Dodge Ram SUV produced. In the mid to late 90's, sold in Mexico. It was a 2 door in the style of the Ramcharger with a Ram 1500 nose sheetmetal on it. Pretty good looking SUV actually, but slow sales killed it (because everybody wanted 4 door SUVs. )

North to the Future
Yow. I’ve owned two Jeeps; first was a Wagoneer - with wood panels :) A total tank but it could turn on a dime and went everywhere I asked of it. Never stuck once and enough space I could’ve rented out rooms! Second was my little 2-door Wrangler. Fun to drive, and I miss it but totally unacceptable for Alaskan winters....just impossible to warm it. But sure fun.

The 2022 is a beaut, but likely a gas-hog. Though I expect if one can afford it, one wouldn’t be concerned about mileage. Pretty though.

Tata isn't going anywhere, though it might fade out of the international market. Tata is one of the "Big Three" manufacturers in India.

The way the badging on the GW is done, they might actually be positioning it as its own brand. As noted elsewhere, there's no conspicuous Jeep branding anywhere on the thing. The only "Jeep" styling element at all is the grille.

And yes, I remember the Ram SUV from Mexico. Available in 2WD only, and it was longer than the Ramcharger ever was. The B-pillar area was kind of weirdly styled. The off-road boards were hot about it for a while, but the lack of a real front axle made it hard to convince anyone to take one on for a conversion.

This thing looks a lot more like a real full-size SUV, and is a 4door to boot. A Laramie or Bighorn (or maybe a new name, say, Grand Teton) SUV like that, with the new Ram 1500 nose and a "King Ranch-esque" interior treatment would sell a crapload of trucks.

Not a gas-hog. It's got an electric-hybrid drivetrain. Should be fairly good on gas.
