Question...and I ask because I really don't know. Has anyone actually seen him since he supposedly returned home on the 10th?
Yes. Several neighbors have commented that nothing seemed out of the ordinary. They reported that he mowed the yard and went for a bicycle ride with his mother.

Gabby Petito's Best Friend Says Brian Laundrie Is Capable of Surviving in the Wilderness

He lived in the Appalachians by himself for months," Rose Davis says Brian Laundrie, who was reportedly last seen on Sept. 14, is capable of surviving on his own, according to Gabby Petito's best friend, Rose Davis.

"He is out in the wilderness, I promise you," Davis, 21, tells PEOPLE, noting this is not the first time he's lived in the wild on his own.

"He's out there. He is," Davis insists. "If he's alive, he's out there, camping out ... He lived in the Appalachians by himself for months."

This morning, the search for Laundrie continued in Carlton Reserve, a 25,000-acre nature reserve consisting primarily of swampy wetlands.

The 23-year-old reportedly left last week for a nature hike and has not been seen since.

‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Duane Chapman joins search for Brian Laundrie

Television personality Duane Lee Chapman, better known as “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” has joined the manhunt for Brian Laundrie, the fugitive boyfriend of slain Long Island native Gabby Petito.

The reality TV star was seen banging on the screen door of the North Port, Florida, home where Petito and Laundrie lived with his parents on Saturday.

Laundrie, 23, vanished Sept. 14, three days after Petito’s family reported her missing. The couple had been on a cross-country van trip visiting national parks when her family became suspicious after she stopped calling, but sent several incongruous texts.

Her body was found Sept. 19 at a campground in Wyoming’s Bridger Teton National Forest, not far from Grand Teton National Park.

Wednesday, the FBI issued an arrest warrant for Laundrie, based on his suspected use of Petito’s debit card on Aug. 30 and Sept. 1, presumably as he drove back to Florida in Petito’s van. He is the only person of interest in the death of Petito that the FBI has named.

“Dog and [his wife] Francie have experienced extreme loss themselves. Their hearts go out to Gabby’s family and want to help bring justice for her death,” their representative said in a statement.

While Chapman was trying to connect with Laundrie’s parents, dozens of law enforcement officers continued to comb through a swampy, 25,000-acre nature reserve where he went for a hike and never returned.

“I want anyone with information on Brian Laundrie’s whereabouts to call me at 833-TELLDOG,” he said in the statement. He said he will cooperate with authorities but keep the names of any informants confidential.

Sorry... I don't give much credence to the testimony of a 21 year old.

Things must not be all that good for the dog. He is no longer riding in a flashy new Suburban. I doubt if his real motive is what it looks like. Theater is what it's called.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's camping somewhere around the AT. Glad I don't have any hiking trips planned.

I heard that when the police found out he'd used "unauthorized" cards (some said they were GABBY's cards---and however you slice that, it is illegal)--and that he'd used them across state lines.

BINGO!

I'm sure, when they realized that, after being stone-walled and stone-walled and stone-walled by an uncoorperative Laundrie and his stone-faced parents (yes, they were "within their rights", and how SAD that THEIR rights now TRUMP those of Gabby and her parents!)---so that they could not question him or them if they refused to cooperate, could not search the house without their permission -- OR a legally executed warrant (which can only be issued if a judge determines the likelihood of a crime having been committed), could not do one dammed thing to get ANY HELP from the (likely) LAST PERSON to see Gabby alive (certainly the last person known to have been with her)--

That when they REALIZED the slezoid had done this---had HANDED them the right to ISSUE an ARREST WARRANT FOR AN ACTUAL CRIME---

that there was more than one gleefully repeating the words of Sherriff Lamar Potts in Murder in Coweta County -- "Hey boys! We got him!"

And the SWEET thing about this is---if Brian is ANYWHERE WITHIN THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES---ANY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANYWHERE HAS THE RIGHT TO DETAIN HIM, DUE TO THIS BEING AN INTER-STATE CRIME.

Of course---his PARENTS (SHAME on them!) I have read, have a background in law enforcement.

So they MAY have known this and anticipated it.

Which is why I agree with many here that they may have done all these elaborate schemes and misdirections to give them time to get him out of the country.

And if so---I hope someday they are PAID BACK IN FULL for the EVIL they have done.

OK. IF he left without taking his wallet or phone, he's dead. His generation no more leaves the house without those essentials than they would without clothes.

But I don't believe a word his parents or that scumbag lawyer say.

replacing the phone is no biggie & he only needs enough ID/ debit cards to retrieve funds his family might send him &/or he may have a wad of cash too. There's really nothing in depth about his family. He's in the wind for sure and w/ enough resources/support, could be hiding in plain sight. Unless he does something stupid, he could stay that way for a long time

I believe I read that bloodhounds can pick up a scent/trail after 12-14 days.
While they do brag about the bloodhounds ability, and it is a good one, as noted in that they do use them for that purpose.

The 12-14 day time period is under ideal conditions. No humidity, no rain, no wind, no other traffic to cover the scent, yada, yada, etc....

CAN that be the case with Brian? Sure. Likely? No.

Been using dogs to hunt since I was a teen. Although haven't hunted humans with Bloodhounds the same principal is true with Beagles, Jack Russell, Walkers, German Short Hair, and Red Bone Hounds.

Because if it was any old 12-14 day period no matter the conditions.....Rudolf probably would have been caught a lot sooner.

Just saying.

I'm just happy that I don't have a child of dating age right now. There are so many messed up young people and parents that I would be worried about what could happen.

we do.

as much as we do worry and are very aware, i remember that there are others out there that are solid, decent people. we just need to be very cautious and teach them to be as well.

we try not to scare them, but we do show them certain things so they are aware of just how careful one needs to be. we also are letting them become more aware of our extended family issues so they can identify those and not fall victim to them.

its a rough world on the best of days. we are trying to help them not make their lives worse than they need to be.

the rest of the world is less accommodating in that regard lol

Not necessarily. He may just be very smart leaving home without a phone to ping him to cell towers, and he wouldn't need credit cards, just cash and a lot of men don't use wallets.

He could very well be on the run.

Fox has been covering this story every hour. From the start. What's with this story? Why were they told to latch on to this like a dog with a bone?

The MSM keeps saying this story has gripped the nation...no, THEY made it in our face every hour! I asked way back why did they latch on to this story? Ran out of white officers shooting black guys? I doubt it. So why??
