Has No Life - Lives on TB
I've heard so many stories of Fed Ex screwing up deliveries that I thought I'd add my own, that just happened today. I had ordered a new steering box assembly for one of my Yanmar tractors. I'd rebuilt this box a few years ago, but it crapped out again. I thought I'd treat myself - and the tractor - to a brand new box. It was well over $400.
I followed the Fed Ex tracking and knew that it was due to arrive today, so made sure I was home all day. Late afternoon arrives and no steering box, so I checked the online tracking. It says "Left at front door." Well, it may have been left at someone's front door, but it certainly wasn't mine!
A phone call to one of my neighbors informed me that they'd seen a Fed Ex truck earlier, at another neighbors down the street. I knew that these people were not home and had gone out of town for a few days. BTW, it's great to have a network of neighbors who keep eyes out in the neighborhood.
So I jumped on the bike and rode over to the absent neighbor's house. I went up the few steps to their porch and front door and... there's no package there! There's no package at the front door - as the delivery note stated - and there's no package on the porch to either side that I can see. OK. I went back home and told DW, who suggested that we go back over and look around their property a little more thoroughly. Good idea.
We started walking around the sides of their porch and house, when DW shouts, "I found it!" It was nowhere near the front door, but was hidden behind several other items at the end of their (long) porch. I was glad to have my package, but pissed at Fed Ex.
Let's see; they got the address wrong and didn't even leave it anywhere near the front door, as they stated in the online delivery note.
We're in a rural area and the neighborhood is not the easiest to navigate, but everyone has their address on the mailboxes on the road.
Oh, well. You are all invited to share your own Fed Ex horror stories!
