A comment about storing salt in glass jars with metal lids, canning jars but others as well.....

Cut a bunch of pieces of thick plastic bags, the tough stuff like large amounts of rice come in, and use those as a sort of liner for the metal lids when you are capping the glass jars of salt. Not little round pieces, but squares that are a little bigger than the mouth of the jar. This can help keep the salt from corroding the lids. Plus, I figure it acts as a sort of extra gasket for even better sealing, yet is thin enough that it doesn't interfere with tightening the lid itself down well.

Originally my dh wasn't onboard with my prepping but Y2K convinced him. Before that the fact that he wasn't onboard did not stop me. I respected his decisions and expected the same respect in return. In some areas spouses must just agree to disagree. Making fun is disrespectful in my opinion.

Most canning supply outlets carry plastic lids to fit large and small mouth canning jars.

We use them for any temporary liquid storage and such items as salt, vinegar, Epsom salts, etc.

They’re inexpensive, too.

Hmmm! Never thought of the li'l salt & pepper packets. I do, however, have a supply of single-serving ketchup, mustard, relish, and mayo packets laid by. May need more.

Samuel Adams, I have lots of thoes white plastic lids for canning jars, too, and they are great, but I don't think they seal nearly as tightly s the metal lids and rings do, and I want my salt to be sealed as tightly as possible without it being able to corrode the lids.

On TB every waking moment
I forget when it was, but at one time, this guy was convinced the alphabet agencies were after him and he would send out his missives on the run from various places he was hiding. It was several years ago.

I don't believe anything he is dishing out. But I do think we are entering the end stages of our monetary system and will see some drastic changes as the import tap is shut off. We certainly haven't prepared for that and haven't the infrastructure, manufacturing industry, nor trained and willing work force to cover the gaps. Plus, the Biden Administration is set on destroying any domestic fossil fuel sourcing of energy/fuel.

Drought, heat, fires in the west and rain in the east are going to effect the domestic food supply. The handwriting is on the wall. You can't go wrong with prepping, if you have the means.

My sister and I were taking one day and it came up about CANDLES after you have used up all the AA and AAA BATTERIES, which will happen faster than you think.

We came to the conclusion that NOBODY is stocking enough candles. If you whole household has to share ONE CANDLE after dark, that means even with this level of stringent use you NEED 365 CANDLES for a years prep at one candle per day. AND 6 months prep at two candles per day. Not so important in high summer but most of the year has very short daylight days, and lockdown is maddening if you have to do it in DARKNESS.

Nothing is as reliable as candles
or as valuable as a trade item.
We gathered as many as we could from yard sales and bought out the dollar stores till we had more than a years worth.
I have some Luci solar lights.

They are having a 30% off site wide flash sale right now. Free shipping over $50.

We have some candles, but prefer oil lamps. We've got three of them, and lots of lamp oil. In the summer we have these awesome LED solar lanterns. We use them for camping and keep them fully charged. They're way more efficient than candles. If you live in a sunny location, they're a must-have. They've gone up in price. We bought ours years ago for $10 each and then they went up to $15. Now they're at $24 but you'll have them for years. Totally worth it. You might find them cheaper somewhere else. There are a lot of other kinds of solar lights, too.

UPDATE-THIS GUY TODAY SUNDAY loaded a followup video and I was 10 min into warching it when it was pulled from Youtube.
I found it on ALT NEWS forum posted by China Connection
He said over 300,000 people had seen it and he was not expecting that kind of exposure. I think some body wanted him silenced.
Can't find it. Can you post a link?

Anything you can buy today and use in a week or six...that's money in your pocket.

Probably a better return than stocks, considering inflation.

I don’t know this guy, but why does he think Trump is evil? He said so a few times in his video yesterday but didn’t elaborate. He mentions something about Trump being the Suffering Servant from Isaiah 52 and 53. A lot of what he says doesn’t make any sense.

I want to know why Trump keeps trumpeting his success of having the "vaccine" created and why he continues to encourage everyone to get it? This causes me great concern with him.

Here is something else the man has to say which reflects many opinions on this board.
RT 9:39

I agree with everything he said.

I have long seen that “Trump” was not indeed played......he was the key player, for over four years, and the scuttlebut circulating the net about his supposedly working for good behind the scenes is further evidence that his influence over his supporters is still of great use to the “elite”.

This too shall pass.
My small chest freezer is now empty, and I'm thinking about turning it off and storing a lot of my dry stuff in there (cornmeal, oatmeal, bags of dried veggies, etc. -- anything that mice are likely to bother). Any guesses on how much silica gel to put in there to keep the humidity down? Avg. relative humidity here ranges from 50%-70%.

That's a good question. I've long thought of using my oldest freezer for the same purpose when it finally plays out. We have an old unplugged refridgerator in Cary's shop that is used to store extra bottles of rice for our fur babies and water. We've never had a humidity problem inside it, so I don't know if there would be a problem with a freezer.

I'm not sure, either, but would rather be safe than sorry. We've had a lot of trouble with mold here, especially any place that's enclosed so air can't circulate. And the silica gel isn't all that expensive -- cheaper than losing a bunch of food.

It is hard to argue the points he brings up in that video. It is stuff many people have been speculating. And if anyone that doesn't trust nor wants the shot asks themselves why all those big names, including Trump are pushing the shot. Or GMI as he called it. What is the reason for pushing the shot by these people?

People seriously need to consider whether they've been played, fooled, set up.
At the very least consider that they threatened Trump so bad that he had to turn.

Because if one seriously looks at everything happening it's extremely difficult to believe these things will be undone.

You can also use a tea strainer or sieve. Just rub against the wires to get the amount you need.

I kept my little coffee mill for stuff like this after I decided I couldn't drink coffee and gave my last beans to my oldest daughter. Coffee mills are pretty cheap, and it's a lot easier than rubbing chunks of salt through a sieve.

I went to rense.com, in the yellow lettering in the middle is a video titled: ⁰ALARMING:MIlitary urging officers to get their "Houses in Order" food, water, supplies.
it is a short video by a retired (probably recently retired ) officer who is concerned by the tone of this, NOT like the usual 'get ready' stuff you normally hear on base.
The EMPHASIS IS RIGHT NOW!
He doesn't know if enlisted were given the same warning.

All i have now is my phone and can't figure out how to post it. He is pretty sure something is going down and wants to warn people
It came out a couple days ago.

Are you sure about that?

I was thinking about that. He pushed to develop it as "Warp Speed" and he'll never escape that. As a Trump vanity thing, it's hard for him to let go.

Politically, the dems pooh-pooh'ed "Trump's Vaccine" and now they love it. By embracing it again, he looks consistent and the dems are flip-floppers. If (when) the vaccine fails as political weapon, the dems will own it and will have a hard time getting traction against him. All Trump has to do is say he thought it was the right thing to do, and is disappointed it wasn't a success, while expressing that it was good that some independent-thinking people understood what was really going on.

My grandmother used to put grains of rice in her salt shaker. She said it helped keep it from hardening into a rock.
