Yale Professor Compares GOP Critical Race Theory Opposition to German Neo-Nazi Aim to End Holocaust Education

The Republican Party’s fight against the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in schools is akin to neo-Nazis in Germany seeking to revise history and put an end to Holocaust education, according to Jason Stanley, a professor of philosophy at Yale University.

Appearing on MSNBC’s The Mehdi Hasan Show on Tuesday night, the professor blasted Republican opposition to Critical Race Theory.

After the show’s host, Mehdi Hasan, discussed Republican “fear” of Critical Race Theory and a socialist take-over of America, he suggested it was all part of “fascist propaganda,” to which the professor agreed.

Absolutely,” Stanley replied.

“What if Germany, what if AfD — the neo-fascist party in Germany that advocates ending Holocaust education — came to power and ended Holocaust education?” he asked, adding that, “We’d all be horrified; everyone in America would be horrified by that.”

Furthering the comparison, the Yale professor claimed that both the GOP and German neo-Nazis share talking points.

“They say the same talking points there … ‘We don’t want Germans to feel guilty about our past; we want people to not feel guilty about things their ancestors did,’” he said of the groups.

He then referred to the fight against Critical Race Theory as an “American version” of a similar international strategy.

“This tactic is the American version of an international tactic,” he said.

“In other countries it’s gender ideology,” he added, “so in Germany they’re targeting Holocaust education, in Hungary [and] Brazil they’re targeting gender ideology [and] cultural Marxism, and it’s the same strategy.”

Stanley also made a comparison to Turkey’s Islamist and increasingly authoritarian president, before associating criticism of the theory with autocracy.

“Everywhere you have these attacks on democratic institutions, the education system, people fomenting [and] pushing patriotic education as Erdoğan has in Turkey, it always goes with autocracy, and that needs to be borne in mind,” he said.

“I don’t know a single country where they’re attacking education systems in this way and not also destroying the electoral system,” he added.

Hassan replied by stating that such ideas have “gripped the minds of millions of Republicans and yes it is part and parcel of an autocratic attempt to change the way we think about history and education.”

The lecture comes as the battle over Critical Race Theory in schools has resulted in nationwide tension.

The theory, which is promoted by many on the left, claims that American institutions — the government, economy, and culture — are based on racial hierarchy, with whites at the top and blacks at the bottom, and even that which appears race-neutral is, on closer inspection, rooted in racism. As a result, it urges reform in virtually all of its institutions.

In an essay published in the Economist last month, Stanley claimed that the “Republican attack” on the theory’s aims is a “broadside against truth and history in education.”

NBC News Hit Piece on Grassroots Parents Battling K-12 Critical Race Theory Draws Fire

DR. SUSAN BERRY16 Jun 20213,643

An NBC News hit piece on grassroots parents’ groups battling Critical Race Theory (CRT) and woke education in K-12 schools has drawn a flood of criticism.

The piece, published Tuesday, titled “Critical Race Theory Battle Invades School Boards – with Help from Conservative Groups,” was written by Tyler Kingkade, Brandy Zadrozny, and Ben Collins, and starts out by defining CRT as “the academic study of racism’s pervasive impact.”

The writers present as an innocent bystander in the push to teach the tenets of CRT in his Cumberland-North Yarmouth, Maine, school district, superintendent Jeff Porter, who referred, on the record, to vocal, anti-woke education parent Shawn McBreairty as “vile,” and presented him with “conditions” he would need to meet before being permitted to attend his daughters’ graduation:
To Porter, the issue was straightforward: The district had denounced white supremacy in the wake of George Floyd’s murder by police, but did not teach critical race theory, the academic study of racism’s pervasive impact.
Porter’s school district hired Community Change Inc., a Boston-based company that self-describes on Twitter as “a non-profit that challenges systemic racism with a special focus on white people.”

“Can’t dismantle white supremacy without dismantling capitalism,” CCI states.
The district’s “Equity Leadership Steering Committee” sent a statement out to the community that asserted:
We echo the words of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota: “In a culture that continually reinforces white supremacy, justice can only be achieved when we confront and repair the anti-blackness woven through every aspect of society—in our homes, schools, workplaces, communities, places of worship, and government.”

We are continuing to partner with Community Change Inc. to guide us on this journey. We are actively learning that the supposed truths we’ve been socialized to believe about blackness are violent and untrue. We will work to assess our curriculum, educate our community within and outside of our school campus, dismantle the anti-blackness all of us have internalized by living in a society built on white supremacy, and provide tools to interrupt anti-black racism.
The NBC News authors appear unable to wrap their heads around the fact that K-12 parents across the country are filling their school board meetings, ousting school administrators and board members peddling woke education, and urging their state lawmakers to take action:

Subsequently, the NBC News writers decided on a theme of presenting parental anger and frustration as a nefarious plot to “disrupt lessons on race and gender,” one that has been fueled by “seasoned GOP activists,” “conservative think tanks,” and “law firms.”

What the fuss is really about, the authors say, is these “conservative” groups have found “families frustrated over Covid-19 restrictions in schools” and have “weaponized the right’s opposition to critical race theory, turning it into a political rallying point.”

NBC News continues these parents are using CRT as a “catch-all term” for your basic, harmless “equity programs,” that simply teach about “racism or LGBTQ-inclusive policies”:
While the efforts vary, they share strategies of disruption, publicity and mobilization. The groups swarm school board meetings, inundate districts with time-consuming public records requests and file lawsuits and federal complaints alleging discrimination against white students. They have become media darlings in conservative circles and made the debate over critical race theory a national issue.
“What’s really happening here is that the forms of grassroots civic action that have bolstered leftist causes for years upon years are now being taken up by conservatives, and the left doesn’t like it one bit,” wrote Libby Emmons at the Post Millennial.

“In fact, they seek to discredit this work, saying that it’s being fueled by dark monied interests, and not being pushed forward by concerned parents furious over the decline of American education and fearful for their kids,” she added.
The article has been denounced as sheer “propaganda."

The Washington Post’s Phillip Bump attempted a defense of the NBC News writers, referring to their piece as one that “explored the emergence of critical race theory (CRT) as a political focal point.”

“What they found was grass-roots frustration about evolving lessons — frustration that mirrors the furor over Common Core during the Obama administration — that was at times being stoked by national organizations,” he wrote, quoting Columbia University’s Jeffrey Henig, who reportedly said, “It’s being exploited by actors at the national level who see it as an opportunity to reshuffle the politics of the standard educational reform debate.”

Actually, grassroots parent groups, and not just white parents, are doing the “stoking” of their school boards and state lawmakers. Emmons noted:
Black parents, Asian parents, immigrant parents, and so many parents who want their kids to be considered equal to their peers, deserving of respect, and capable of achieving to their potential regardless of their race, ethnicity, or national origin.
In Minnesota, for example, a black-led school choice and anti-woke culture movement is beginning to spread nationally, aiming to challenge the narrative that America is a systemically racist nation:

TakeCharge Minnesota says its objective is “to inspire and educate the black community and other minority groups in the Twin Cities to take charge of their own lives, the lives of the families and communities, as citizens fully granted to them in the Constitution.”

The group denounces “the idea that the country is guilty of systemic racism, white privilege and abhor the concept of identity politics and the promotion of victimhood in minority communities.”

Writer Noah Pollak tweeted the NBC News hit piece will only serve to sabotage the left’s agenda.

“This kind of coverage is good news for the anti-woke side,” he observed. “It indicates that woke activists have little confidence in their product. If they did, they’d want people to know about it. But this is all a big operation in distraction and concealment.”

So Much Of What The CIA Used To Do Covertly It Now Does Overtly

TUESDAY, JUN 22, 2021 - 10:45 PM
Authored by Caitlin Johnstone via Medium.com,

In the later years of an abusive relationship I was in, my abuser had become so confident in how mentally caged he had me that he’d start overtly telling me what he is and what he was doing. He flat-out told me he was a sociopath and a manipulator, trusting that I was so submitted to his will by that point that I’d gaslight myself into reframing those statements in a sympathetic light. Toward the end one time he told me “I am going to rape you,” and then he did, and then he talked about it to some friends trusting that I’d run perception management on it for him.

The better he got at psychologically twisting me up in knots and the more submitted I became, the more open he’d be about it. He seemed to enjoy doing this, taking a kind of exhibitionistic delight in showing off his accomplishments at crushing me as a person, both to others and to me. Like it was his art, and he wanted it to have an audience to appreciate it.

I was reminded of this while watching a recent Fox News appearance by Glenn Greenwald where he made an observation we’ve discussed here previously about the way the CIA used to have to infiltrate the media, but now just openly has US intelligence veterans in mainstream media punditry positions managing public perception.
“If you go and Google, and I hope your viewers do, Operation Mockingbird, what you will find is that during the Cold War these agencies used to plot how to clandestinely manipulate the news media to disseminate propaganda to the American population,” Greenwald said.

“They used to try to do it secretly. They don’t even do it secretly anymore. They don’t need Operation Mockingbird. They literally put John Brennan who works for NBC and James Clapper who works for CNN and tons of FBI agents right on the payroll of these news organizations. They now shape the news openly to manipulate and to deceive the American population.”
In 1977 Carl Bernstein published an article titled “The CIA and the Media” reporting that the CIA had covertly infiltrated America’s most influential news outlets and had over 400 reporters who it considered assets in a program known as Operation Mockingbird. It was a major scandal, and rightly so. The news media are meant to report truthfully about what happens in the world, not manipulate public perception to suit the agendas of spooks and warmongers.

Nowadays the CIA collaboration happens right out in the open, and the public is too brainwashed and gaslit to even recognize this as scandalous. Immensely influential outlets like The New York Times uncritically pass on CIA disinfo which is then spun as fact by cable news pundits. The sole owner of The Washington Post is a CIA contractor, and WaPo has never once disclosed this conflict of interest when reporting on US intelligence agencies per standard journalistic protocol. Mass media outlets now openly employ intelligence agency veterans like John Brennan, James Clapper, Chuck Rosenberg, Michael Hayden, Frank Figliuzzi, Fran Townsend, Stephen Hall, Samantha Vinograd, Andrew McCabe, Josh Campbell, Asha Rangappa, Phil Mudd, James Gagliano, Jeremy Bash, Susan Hennessey, Ned Price and Rick Francona, as are known CIA assets like NBC’s Ken Dilanian, as are CIA interns like Anderson Cooper and CIA applicants like Tucker Carlson.

They’re just rubbing it in our faces now. Like they’re showing off.

And that’s just the media. We also see this flaunting behavior exhibited in the US government-funded National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a propaganda operation geared at sabotaging foreign governments not aligned with the US which according to its own founding officials was set up to do overtly what the CIA used to do covertly. The late author and commentator William Blum makes this clear:
n 1983, the National Endowment for Democracy was set up to “support democratic institutions throughout the world through private, nongovernmental efforts”. Notice the “nongovernmental” — part of the image, part of the myth. In actuality, virtually every penny of its funding comes from the federal government, as is clearly indicated in the financial statement in each issue of its annual report. NED likes to refer to itself as an NGO (Non-governmental organization) because this helps to maintain a certain credibility abroad that an official US government agency might not have. But NGO is the wrong category. NED is a GO.

“We should not have to do this kind of work covertly,” said Carl Gershman in 1986, while he was president of the Endowment. “It would be terrible for democratic groups around the world to be seen as subsidized by the C.I.A. We saw that in the 60’s, and that’s why it has been discontinued. We have not had the capability of doing this, and that’s why the endowment was created.”

And Allen Weinstein, who helped draft the legislation establishing NED, declared in 1991: “A lot of what we do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA.”

In effect, the CIA has been laundering money through NED.
We see NED’s fingerprints all over pretty much any situation where the western power alliance needs to manage public perception about a CIA-targeted government, from Russia to Hong Kong to Xinjiang to the imperial propaganda operation known as Bellingcat.

Hell, intelligence insiders are just openly running for office now. In an article titled “The CIA Democrats in the 2020 elections”, World Socialist Website documented the many veterans of the US intelligence cartel who ran in elections across America in 2018 and 2020:
“In the course of the 2018 elections, a large group of former military-intelligence operatives entered capitalist politics as candidates seeking the Democratic Party nomination in 50 congressional seats — nearly half the seats where the Democrats were targeting Republican incumbents or open seats created by Republican retirements. Some 30 of these candidates won primary contests and became the Democratic candidates in the November 2018 election, and 11 of them won the general election, more than one quarter of the 40 previously Republican-held seats captured by the Democrats as they took control of the House of Representatives. In 2020, the intervention of the CIA Democrats continues on what is arguably an equally significant scale.”
So they’re just getting more and more brazen the more confident they feel about how propaganda-addled and submissive the population has become. They’re laying more and more of their cards on the table. Soon the CIA will just be openly selling narcotics door to door like Girl Scout cookies.

Or maybe not. I said my ex got more and more overt about his abuses in the later years of our relationship because those were the later years. I did eventually expand my own consciousness of my own inner workings enough to clear the fears and unexamined beliefs I had that he was using as hooks to manipulate me.

Maybe, as humanity’s consciousness continues to expand, the same will happen for the people and their abusive relationship with the CIA.

Gen. Tom McInerney: Here’s Why the Chinese Top Intel Head Defected to the DIA, NOT the CIA or FBI

by Two Mikes
June 22, 2021

Today, The Two Mikes had the good fortune to again host Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney (ret’d), who provided a good deal of new information about the top-level Chinese defector Dong Jinwei, who brought his daughter to America with him. The defector is a senior member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and was in charge of its overseas intelligence apparatus, including supervision of all Chinese spies or agents overseas.

According to RedState who originally broke the news:

RedState has exclusively reported since June 4 that a high-ranking member of the Chinese government we now know to be Dong Jingwei, the country’s top counterintelligence official, defected to the United States. Multiple sources within the US intelligence community who receive briefings on the matter told RedState details about Dong’s defection (as reported here) and that officials at the Defense Intelligence Agency have high confidence in the information Dong has provided, including information showing that the Wuhan Institute of Virology is in fact a military bioweapons research lab completely controlled by the People’s Liberation Army and that the virus we now know as SARS-CoV-2 was engineered in the Wuhan lab. Information from that defector was used by an expert virologist and a scientist formerly with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, in conjunction with previously available public information about the virus’s genome, to independently determine that the virus was engineered.

General McInerney, who served as the number three guy in the Pentagon, has spoken to contacts about this incident and understands why Dong chose to go to the DIA instead of other agencies that normally work with defectors.

“The CIA and the FBI, the Department of Justice and other organizations are dirty,” he said. “And we have Deep Staters there that have their interest, not the nation’s interests.”

Dong’s top focus was on the thousands of assets China has working inside the United States government and across all sectors of American society in general. General McInerney pointed out that Dong Jinwei defected to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). Historically, defecting foreign intelligence officers defect to the CIA or the FBI.

“He went specifically to the DIA, which tells me in his analysis the DIA has not been tinged with dirt,” he said. As McInerney has stated on numerous occasions in the past, he detailed how anyone with knowledge of what drives the CIA, NSA, FBI, and other Deep State institutions would never choose them to engage with out of fear for their lives.

Gen. McInerney believes that Dong Jinwei feared that he would be killed if he went to the CIA or FBI, as it was the leaders of those agencies who — under Obama’s orders — sold the signals-intercept capability known as ‘Hammer and Scorecard” to China, probably for at least $100 million. Adding to his fear is the knowledge he possesses of the U.S. Government-Democrat-CPP cooperation that delivered the Obama/Fauci-funded Wuhan Flu to the United States in what will soon be proven to be a direct biological attack on the U.S., a type of attack that normally would be considered a causus belli.

“Dong was in charge of all the agents globally for the Chinese Communist Party and for Communist China, specifically the U.S.,” Gen. McInerney continued. He said that Dong’s knowledge of not only the biological attack but also the CCP’s complicity in the 2020 presidential election fraud could be another reason he chose the DIA. Could the DIA be the “least bad guy” within the Deep State apparatus? If anyone would know, it would be Dong.

Interestingly, one of those Deep State leaders who collaborated with Obama, James Comey, and others now works for one of the top three social media companies, which likely shows whose side that U.S. social media is on. That traitorously sold capability, of course, was used by the CCP and the Democratic Party to steal the 2020 presidential election from Trump.

Dong Jinwei merits the best protection DIA can offer so he can be completely debriefed on all Chinese intelligence operations and agents — and their U.S. business and politician allies — in the United States.

With intimate knowledge of the Wuhan Flu as a biological attack as well as the CCP’s involvement in 2020 election fraud, Dong Jinwei may be the most important defector in world history.

Lt. Colonel Allen West & Over 600 Other Military Vets Signed and Released a Letter Denouncing Marxism in the US and Wokeness In the Military
by Rich Welsh

June 22, 2021

Lt. Colonel Allen West & Over 600 Other Military Vets Signed and Released a Letter Denouncing Marxism in the US and Wokeness In the Military

US Army Lt. Col Allen West (Retired) and over 600 other US military veterans released a letter denouncing Marxism and socialism in the United States, as well as “wokeness” they see that is infiltrating the military.

The US military is not a social club. It has two purposes: to kill people and to break things. When you start introducing the racist critical race theory garbage and other Marxist-based policies what you end up with is you no longer have the greatest military force in the world. Progressives do not understand the military, otherwise, they would never have stooped so low as to do the things they have been implementing since Joe Biden stole the election.

West and his Committee to Support and Defend project organized the letter along with the American Constitutional Rights Union (ACRU), says, “As former members of the U.S. military who have proudly served our nation, we write to express our support for Constitutional freedom and liberty and our concern for our country as many powerful forces seek to bring Socialism and Marxism to our land.”

Read the full letter: (Access on website)

1624431760753.png
“We oppose the politicization and ideological purging of our military. The focus of our military should be on training, readiness, and defense of our Nation, not leftist cultural ‘woke ness,’” the letter continued.

US Marine Major Dan Rabil (Retired) told American Military News that he decided to sign the letter because the Biden administration has described an effort to root out extremism, but what’s clearly going on is the progressives are ramping up efforts to purge the ranks of political ideologies the progressives don’t like. That means anyone to the right of Vladimir Lenin.

“They’re not looking for ANTIFA people in the ranks, they’re looking for people who you know are on the right,” Rabil said. “Basically it’s a signal, ‘First of all we’re anti-white, and then secondly we’re anti anybody who votes from the right or has affiliation with anything, you better be careful because we’re going to separate you; we’re going to come after you.’”

Rabil revealed that he served in the military all throughout the 1990s and he felt that back then it wasn’t blatantly political. His experience was the common philosophy was that everyone who entered the military began on an equal footing and a meritocracy system made sure that those who applied themselves could succeed. That is the truest form of equality of opportunity which includes everyone.

“It’s a place and should be a place where everybody can get thrown in, the poor guy from the ghetto and the wealthy guy from not the ghetto, they go through the same training in boot camp and get deployed to the same place.”

The retired Major said that he has concerns that the current efforts to politicize the military is to replace conservatives among the ranks to create a “malleable, Marxist friendly force.”

Those who signed the letter are worried because they are getting reports being shared by lawmakers that members of US forces are being told that whole military organizations are “racist” and now service members are being ordered to segregate themselves by race and sex to create a hierarchical order that is based on a person’s perceived privilege.

That is government-sanctioned racism, and it is against federal law.

The signors said that they pledged to serve the country, and that oath compels them to protect the country from the dangerous ideologies that are infiltrating the top ranks who will then indoctrinate the troops.

“When we agreed to serve our country, we pledged to support and defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic,” the letter continues.

“During our active-duty service, we did just that. Today, although no longer active-duty warriors, we are still bound to this pledge and believe we are ethically obligated to protect our country. As such, we put our nation’s leadership on notice. We believe the hard left turn toward Socialism and Marxism endangers our citizens and the future of this great nation. Although a difficult step to take, we believe this step is necessary for us to continue to demonstrate the integrity and moral courage our oath requires.”

Restaurants Are Now Adding ‘Equity’ Charges to Customers’ Checks to Fight Oppression

by FEE
June 22, 2021

“Where should we eat tomorrow?” my wife asked me excitedly as we sat on our deck Friday evening.

She had locked down a babysitter for Saturday night, and we were both eager for our first dinner date alone together in months.

“Broders’,” I answered without hesitation.

Located in southwest Minneapolis, Broders Pasta Bar is a local gem. It has a great outdoor patio and the best Italian cuisine in the Twin Cities. We had not eaten there since the pandemic began.

My wife nodded and started to make a reservation on her phone. Then her jaw dropped.

“You’re not going to like this,” she said.
An Equity Charge?

She was right.

On its website, Broders’ has a notice to customers notifying them of a new 15 percent “benefits and equity” charge they’ve instituted. They justify the charge, first, by explaining that “many states have allowed reduced minimum wages for service staff in the form of a tip credit.” (More on this in a minute.)

The restaurant’s second justification is that many tippers are racist and sexist, according to uncited research.

“Studies have also shown that there is inequity and built-in bias in the way consumers give tips,” the statement reads. “In general, Black or Brown servers receive less tips than Caucasian servers. There is gender bias as well.”

The final part of the statement says the new policy stems from wider racial injustice and is not a substitute for gratuity.

“In the wake of racial injustice protests and the closures due to Covid, now is the time for Broders’ to reimagine its economics and provide fair pay across the company,” the statement reads. “Our Benefits & Equity Charge is applied entirely to employee compensation. This supplement helps us to set a $16 minimum hourly wage for customer facing employees, $18 minimum hourly wage for kitchen employees… Altogether this allows everyone in our company to earn a real living wage. The 15% Benefits & Equity Charge is not a gratuity.”

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Broders’ is of course free to add this additional charge, but there are few things that should be noted.

First, it’s true that many states allow tipped employees to make less than the minimum wage. However, Minnesota is not one of those states. Businesses with gross revenue over $500,000 are legally required to pay employees—including tipped workers—at least $10.08 an hour. (For businesses with gross revenue less than $500,000, the minimum wage is $8.21.)

For Broders’ to include this sentence—”many states have allowed reduced minimum wages”—for a justification of its equity policy while fully knowing this policy is not in use in Minnesota is nothing short of deceptive.

Second, I’m no Robert Irvine, but telling your customers you are going to begin charging them more because they are too bigoted to tip fairly might not be a winning restaurant strategy. Just sayin’. As a former restaurant worker, I pride myself on being a generous and fair tipper, and the implication that I can’t be trusted with this responsibility doesn’t sit well with me.

Finally, if Broders’ doesn’t feel restaurant workers in the back are earning enough money, there is a solution to that: pay them more. This action doesn’t require any surcharges or public lectures on systemic oppression. It only requires the restaurant to run an efficient and profitable business that allows them to pay workers a wage they believe is fair and “livable.”

The Fixed (Pizza) Pie Fallacy
Out of curiosity, I looked around to see if other restaurants are adding similar charges. I quickly found one. Pizzeria Toro, a North Carolina restaurant, recently announced that it is introducing a 20 percent Living Wage Fee.

The pizzeria’s owner, Gray Brooks, said this is the “equitable” thing to do. “In order for the bottom to rise up, the top has to come down a little bit,” said Brooks.

This is, of course, a perfect example of the fixed pie fallacy. For those unfamiliar, the fallacy assumes that the economy is fixed, and for the poor to do better, the better off must simply sacrifice more.

“If we assume that wealth is a fixed pie, then the more slices the rich get, the fewer are left over for the poor,” Chelsea Follett explained. “In other words, people can only better themselves at the expense of others. In the world of the fixed pie, if we observe the rich becoming richer, then it must be because other people are becoming poorer. Fortunately, in the real world, the pie is not fixed.”

That the fixed pie is a fallacy is clear. New matter cannot be created, but new value can be. Value is created every time two parties make a voluntary exchange.

And the market economy is a vast network of trillions upon trillions of value-creating exchanges.

The market economy’s “pie” of value grows with every “win-win” exchange. So, there’s no need for “win-lose” transfers from have-mores to have-lesses.

Historically, the poor have been helped much more by the freedom and opportunity to participate in the market than from wealth transfers (whether in the form of charity or taxation). And the most poverty-alleviating way to use private wealth has not been to give it away, but to invest it in capital goods, which boosts labor productivity and thus lifts up real wages. Just look at the rise of per capita income since the 18th century, which shows “the growing pie” of the market benefited everyone.

The owners of these establishments are free to run their businesses as they like (just as I’m free to take my business elsewhere). But, if they really care about uplifting their workers, they should worry less about corporate virtue-signaling and more about actually improving their business. And if they still have bandwidth to do some good after that, they might work on opposing all the myriad ways—the minimum wage, occupational licensing, etc—that government gets in the way of workers participating in and benefiting from “growing the pie.”

“Most economic fallacies derive from the tendency to assume that there is a fixed pie, that one party can gain only at the expense of another,” Milton Friedman once observed.

The Danger of Focusing on Equity
One of the reasons the fixed pie fallacy persists, no doubt, is this hyperfocus on equity. Some might look at equity surcharges as just a shrewd ploy for restaurants to get more for their workers, but that doesn’t mean they are benign.

Focusing on equity tends to place labor and business at odds, implying that workers are being exploited and deprived of their fair share. This idea—that the employer-employee relationship is inherently exploitative—is grounded in Marxism, and has been effectively refuted by economists. This mindset taps into resentment and class struggle, two pillars of socialism, and teaches people to see the world through the lens of oppression and conflict.

To be sure, in a new twist, restaurants appear to be trying to pass this alleged exploitation onto customers, perhaps to placate disgruntled workers or maybe to tap into social justice currents. But this doesn’t make the ideas less harmful.

Whatever the case, I suspect attempts to make customers pay “equity” chargers will backfire.

Customers like having choices. That’s one of the many beauties of markets.

Consumers can choose how we respond to things. If you don’t like Twitter’s aggressive policies on speech, fine; you can go somewhere else. If you don’t care for Chick fil A’s charitable donations, you can eat at Popeye’s. If a car dealership treats you poorly, you can take your business elsewhere.

And if you don’t like your favorite restaurant’s new equity surcharge policy, you can simply exercise the power of exit—and I intend to.

The choice for me was simple: My favorite restaurant added an equity surcharge. What should I do?

I will not be eating at Broders’ again, I’m sad to say. At least not while I’m being slapped with equity charges.

Woke Ideology Mimics Precursors to Totalitarian Slaughter, Experts Say

Woke Ideology Mimics Precursors to Totalitarian Slaughter, Experts Say

Some of the core tenets of the “woke” ideology spreading around the country mimic ideas used to justify many of the most horrendous atrocities of the past century, according to several experts.

Article by Petr Svab from our partners at The Epoch Times.

A recently released documentary exploring the topic, called “Better Left Unsaid,” concludes that the self-identified “radical left” endorses four fundamental “truths” that they “hold to be self-evident,” noting that these tenets have also been used to justify and incite many of the worst massacres of the 20th century.
The first of the four claims is that “the world is best viewed through a group oppression narrative lens.”

The “woke” ideology is based on a set of quasi-Marxist theories that divide society into “oppressors” and the “oppressed” based on characteristics such as race, sex, class, or sexual proclivities. “Woke” is sometimes used interchangeably with Critical Race Theory (CRT), which is one of the more prominent ideologies that operate within this framework.

Better-Left-Unsaid-2-1200x675.jpg

A scene from the documentary “Better Left Unsaid” by Curt Jaimungal. (Better Left Unsaid/Curt Jaimungal)

The second claim is that “evidence of oppression is the inequality between groups,” the documentary says. If the designated “oppressed” group does on average worse in some regard than the designated “oppressor” group, that is taken as virtually unassailable proof of “oppression.”

The third claim is that “peaceful dialog and understanding between the groups is impossible since the dominant group’s strategy is to retain its power.”

Woke theorists have posited that the “oppressed” have a uniquely valuable perspective on reality unavailable to the “oppressors.” Meanwhile, they say, “whiteness” or “white heteropatriarchy” can’t help but to try to maintain its “hegemony.” Even if it does things that benefit members of other groups, such as by abolishing slavery or giving women and blacks the right to vote, it’s still done out of self-interest and in order to further entrench its institutions and norms and thus ensure the “privilege” of its members.

Proponents of the ideology engage in dialogue between themselves, but with everybody else the communication is supposed to generally flow in one direction—that of acceptance of their views. Any challenge to the ideology is labeled as self-serving or even as an assault on the “oppressed.”

Finally, the ideology at least implicitly acknowledges that “because of the above, violence is justified to eradicate the inequities,” the documentary says.

“From my experience, they (to the degree they can be grouped together enough to call them ‘they’) tend to advocate for violence against those oppressing and equate it to laudatory behavior; hence, ‘punch a Nazi,’” author of the documentary, Curt Jaimungal, told The Epoch Times via email.

“I have catalogs of tweets, written statements, and videos of people ranging from students to [professors] explicitly calling for violence and downplaying the violence of those on the left when compared to the right,” he added, not because of intensity or frequency of such violence, but because of the so-called “nobleness of the extreme left’s position.”

These four tenets, Jaimungal demonstrated in the documentary, are common to many of the most brutal massacres and regimes of the 20th century, from the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany to communist China and the Rwandan genocide.

In each case, an entire class of society is painted as unfairly privileged and as such inherently oppressive, with little regard to specific actions of the individual members of the group. Meanwhile, disagreement with or mere disinterest in this classification is taken as support for the perceived oppression. With reconciliation through dialog taken off the table, the only remaining recourse is conflict—a “revolutionary” action where violence is seen as inevitable and, ultimately, preferable.

“Too few people know about the ceaseless carnage that took place under the masthead of the isomers of equity,” Jaimungal narrates in the documentary.

He said he avoided using examples of atrocities committed as a consequence of the totalitarian nature of the various regimes.

“I am careful to only list or only talk about the deaths associated with the philosophical doctrine of group guilt and class guilt,” he said.

Proponents of socialism commonly argue that the movements that led to these tragedies were commandeered or hijacked by people that didn’t really believe in the ideology. But they have tended to level the argument retrospectively, after they or their like-minded predecessors initially endorsed the movements and nascent regimes, the documentary points out. Also, proponents usually stop short of detailing how the next attempt will prevent any supposed nonbelievers from taking over.

Endorsements
The comparison between the preludes to past massacres and the current manifestations of the woke ideology is a fair one, as long as it’s not taken as an absolute, according to Erec Smith, associate professor of Rhetoric and Composition at York College of Pennsylvania.

“We’re not saying [a massacre] is definitely going to happen, but we need to be cognizant and remember our history and be careful about what’s going on here,” he told The Epoch Times.

Jaimungal’s conclusions were also recently endorsed by several scholars of totalitarianism, all of whom are critical of woke ideology. They were invited to comment on the film by Pat Kambhampati, chemistry professor and head of the Society for Academic Freedom and Scholarship at McGill University in Canada.
“The same ideas that gave rise to Curt’s movie and the discussion of communism, we see a lot of parallels and isomorphisms taking place in the West and within academia,” he said during a May 31 panel discussion on topics raised by the documentary.

Janice Fiamengo, retired English professor at the University of Ottawa and self-declared anti-feminist, backed Jaimungal’s argument during the panel discussion. She was also featured in the film.

“As soon as one establishes these oppressor groups and oppressed groups, then when you are speaking supposedly on behalf of the oppressed, you can do nearly anything,” she said.

Better-Left-Unsaid-3-1200x675.jpg

Gad Saad, evolutionary psychology professor at Concordia University, put forth the point during the panel that people professing utopian goals have a tendency toward eliminating those who oppose them.

“Utopians believe that the world could be a perfect place except for this one group that is stopping the world from becoming a perfect place,” he said.
Another panelist, retired New York University professor of liberal studies Michael Rectenwald, linked the woke ideology’s potential to unleash totalitarian force to its postmodern roots.

Postmodernism introduced the idea of fundamental relativism, professing that there is no objective truth, but instead the powers that be establish as true whatever is in their interest.

While the documentary notes that this notion is itself a “truth claim” and thus undermines its own validity, Rectenwald pointed out that adoption of the notion has serious real-life implications.

“The problem with this is not simply that we have no criteria for truth claims with this kind of notion, but rather it leaves open the possibility that when it has the requisite power behind it then anything can be asserted and can be asserted with force,” he said.

He gave the example of the ideology behind the transgender movement sweeping through government institutions.

“The force of the state is behind it and they can say that if you don’t accept that your child is a boy or a girl when they are the other then you could go to jail for this … or you could lose custody of your child,” he said.
“So when my truth becomes as good or better than any objective truth then we get to this point where the requisite power is applied and therefore we get the kind of authoritarianism and totalitarianism that we saw in the Soviet Union where people were forced to maintain things they knew to be false.”

Memes of Survival
Jaimungal defended in his film not only physical truths, but argued that just as there are “preserved genes” in human DNA that stand virtually unchanged through time and would be catastrophic to meddle with, there are also “preserved memes”—ideas that stand true throughout history and are similarly crucial to maintain, timeless lessons one can find in many religious scriptures and ancient stories.

These ideas are ingrained in humans, but have also been “externalized,” meaning imprinted on the external world in the form of the written word, art, rituals, and so on, he says in the film.

“Our survival depends on these ‘externalized memes.’”

Leaked Emails Expose Executive Board Of National Psychologist Org Hatred Of ‘Narcissistic,’ ‘Paranoid,’ ‘Delusional’ Untreatable Conservative Americans

By Alicia Powe

The nation’s top psychologists, entrusted with executive decisions on the treatment of mental health, are exposed in private email exchanges obtained by The Gateway Pundit pathologizing all conservatives as mentally ill and untreatable.

No amount of therapy can remedy “ignorant,” “paranoid,” “strange” “delusional,” “stupid,” “narcissist” conservative Americans who support “corruption and incompetence,” the executive board members of the National Alliance of Professional Psychology Providers contend.

In a June 4 email, executive director of NAPPP Dr. John Caccavale warns: “Trump supporters may share some of the narcissistic traits that were exhibited by the former president himself during his 2020 re-election campaign.”
Email-1-1.jpg

The nationally renowned psychologists linked to an article corroborating his theory about Trump supporters’ narcissism titled, “Study pinpoints two aspects of pathological narcissism that predicted the intention to vote for Trump in 2020.”

email2.jpg

In another email, Caccavale, who also serves on the board of the National Institute of Behavioral Health Quality and the American Board of Behavioral Practice, derides white people who voted for Trump.

“What about those white people who believe Democrrats are eating children in back of a pizza parlor?” he bemoaned on June 17. “What about all the white Qanon morons?”

email3.jpg

According to the NAPPP website, Caccavale is a California licensed clinical and neuropsychologist, a trained psychopharmacologist and “advocates for psychotherapy as a first line treatment for behavioral disorders.”

john.jpg

John Caccavale, Ph.D., ABMP

The source who documented the email exchange, a Gateway Pundit reader, wishes to remain anonymous, insists the hatred harbored by these doctors for at least half of their patients must be made public.

“I am doctor (psychologist) who often receives emails from a national psychologist organization’s listserv that constantly promotes abusive language targeting all who are politically right-of-center,” the source told the TGP. “I believe their overt hate speech and dehumanizing vitriol toward conservatives must finally be exposed.

“The Board has acted in any way but ‘Professional’ and has repeatedly spread emails to our colleagues with nothing short of shocking disdain for anyone, including their own patients, who voted for Trump and/or disagree with Democrat policies.”

In the disturbing exchange, NAPPP board member Dr. Morris, a clinical psychologist who has developed and owned psychiatric hospitals, expresses agreement with psychologist Howard Rubin’s argument contending a recent study which found almost half of the U.S. allegedly believes dinosaurs still exist, “accounts for Trump being elected POTUS and why a lot of people believe he still should be.”

“Guess who these people are: No joke: Nearly half of Americans think dinosaurs STILL roam the Earth! - Study Finds,” Dr. Rubin quips.

email-5.jpg

Conservatives have a collective mental illness that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy cannot alleviate, Dr. Caccavale replied on June 5.

“I just wonder how a society can survive with so much stupidity, ignorance, and adherence to mass shared delusions,” Caccavale wrote. “No CBT for these folks.”

email-9.jpg

In an October 5, 2020 email, Morris rails amongst his colleagues against Republicans and voters in red states.

“Dear colleagues, my correspondence with my congressman on this one, a republican state, always results in them giving me a BS answer and indicating that they are all for Social Security cuts in various ways. I know this is not CMS, but these people in the red states simply support this kind of thing. Voucher Vote your interest!”

email-11.jpg

Dr. Michael Zakaras, a NAPPP clinical psychologist who offers adult, adolescent and family psychotherapy, in Nov. 9, 2019 email notes, “ wish to present at the next napp conference unless it is in Africa{mandatory PC check)” then touts a “national ad campaign for mental health treatment. i think even ms [Mississippi] rednecks would find this funny.”

email-14.jpg

In an April 3, 2020 email denouncing Republicans for “supporting corruption and incompetence,” Dr. John Caccavale says he’s in agreement with Dr. Jerry Morris about the GOP:
As usual, Jerry is correct but I do not expect anything soon coming out of the trump administration or from some states. Here in CA our governor has but mental health as a top priority… NAPPP and AMP have contacted his office to see how we can help with recruiting and policy issues. Unlike in other states controlled by Republicans, and no this is not a political statement, it’s a fact, healthcare in general is unimportant… many Republican lawmakers have stated that the ‘economy is more important than losing a few lives.’ Supporting corruption and incompetence even when that corruption is not illegal does not make for being a good person.
email-15.jpg

In a Nov 1, 2019 email, Dr. Caccavale slams Republican Rep. Vicky Hartzler, for attending a “Conversion Therapy” discussion, in which people who used to identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer say they are now heterosexual and were able to shed their previous orientation by embracing their Christian faith.

The GOP congresswoman believes “prayer alone can guide one to sound health. Science is not an option,” Caccavale admonished. “Our country is divided along many different lines but lack of intellect has to be in first place.”

email-16.jpg

Dr. Morris chimed in with a disclosure warning “strange” Rep. Hartzler represents his district and is “represented by a strange right wing.”

“Gang, she is my congress person who is a very strange person represented by a strange right wing very rule area of the country. She was elected and be loved by the right wing because she has no capacity to think for herself, drinks the KoolAid, and believes that women must be subservient to men to be biblically driven. Therefore if the males in the carcass tell her what to think and do she will fall in line and think that she is being godly, family oriented, and righteous,” Morris wrote.

“She is kind a like our secretary of education in this country [Betsy DeVos]… when you see the thought process and the perceptual limitations of some of these people it makes you appreciate why we spent a lifetime identifying and treating mental illness!” he continues. “Distortions of reality thinking with what DBT therapists call the emotional rather than the wise mind, and with dichotomous or black-and-white thinking to quail paranoia and make the World oversimplified are symptoms that doctors like you and I have identified as ‘pathology’!”

email-17.jpg

“The American people are not real deep thinkers and can be sold on a lot of things. As evidence by the trouble were in politically,” Morris wrote in a June 12, 2019 email.

email-18.jpg

Pathologies exhibited by conservatives are an opportunity for psychologists to put to use their expertise on mental illness, Morris argued:
My good friend Howard, when you see the thought process and the perceptual limitations of some of these people it makes you appreciate why we spent a lifetime identifying and treating mental illness!

Distortions of reality with what [Dialectical Behavior Therapy] therapists call the emotional rather than the wise mind, and with dichotomous or black-and-white thinking to quail paranoia and make the World oversimplified are symptom that doctors like you and I have identified as “pathology”! It reminds me of my religious training and what sustains me in the face of the mass madness is the phrase, “father forgive them for they know what do”!

email-19.jpg

The esteemed physicians were “not using a message board when disseminating their toxic rhetoric,” the source told TGP. “They were actually emailing all of us on their members-only list-serv. I have been a psychologist and a member of NAPPP for a number of years and grown tired of their far-left extremism, which openly pathologizes conservative thinkers.”

The National Alliance of Professional Psychology Providers, based in Garden Grove, California, has a national membership base that includes several former Presidents of the American Psychological Association among its ranks.

The country’s leading psychologists aren’t just proselytizing hatred of conservative Americans in their emails, the source said, but they are infusing their biased and intolerant political ideology into the psychology courses they instruct.

“Given that NAPPP offers Continuing Education courses and NAPPP Executive Director John Caccavale is an instructor/grader for them – he has scored my class tests before – I think it is highly inappropriate that NAPPP offers any course on Narcissistic Personality when their instructors and graders unethically impugn Trump voters as being narcissistic by definition,” the source said.

download-19.jpg

The damning admissions of the esteemed, “intellectually elite” group of psychologists come after a relentless effort launched in 2017 by mental health providers to remove Trump from office under the 25th Amendment on the grounds that he was psychologically unfit for office.

Duty to Warn, a network of psychiatrists and psychologists, diagnosed Trump as a “malignant narcissist,” a classification that has four components: Narcissism, Paranoia, Antisocial Personality Disorder, and Sadism.

Pentagon Leader: Accusations of Military Being ‘Woke’ Are ‘Offensive,’ Defends Studying Critical Race Theory

General Mark Milley (R), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III (L) testifies on the department's fiscal year 2022 budget request during a House Armed Services Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, on June 23, 2021. (Photo by SAUL LOEB …

Biden Pentagon leaders at a hearing on Tuesday lashed out at Republican lawmakers who grilled them on critical race theory spreading in the military, with the top military officer saying he was “offended” by accusations the military is becoming “woke.”

“I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military, our general officers, our commissioned, non-commissioned officers of being ‘woke’ or something else because we’re studying some theories that are out there,” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Mark Milley said at the hearing.

His response came after several lawmakers queried Milley and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on why critical race theory is being spread within the military.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) noted that Air Force Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier was fired from his command at Space Force after warning about critical race theory being spread in the military, and asked if Austin supported critical race theory.

Austin said the Pentagon did not teach or embrace critical race theory and that such suggestions were “spurious.” Gaetz then asked him why he hired “critical race theorist” Bishop Garrison as his top adviser on diversity at the Pentagon.

Austin responded that was the first he had heard of Garrison being a “critical race theorist.”

Later in the hearing, Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) then cited a letter from the West Point superintendent that acknowledged that critical race theory was part of the curriculum for a class at West Point, in addition to there being a lecture at West Point on “whiteness and white rage.” Austin conceded, “That is something that should not occur again.”

However, Milley — invited by a Democrat lawmaker to respond — chimed in with a staunch defense of studying critical race theory, saying he thought it was important for military leaders to be “widely read.”

“I want to understand white rage, and I’m white,” he said, referencing the January 6 Capitol riot. “What is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the Constitution of the United States of America?”

Milley added he has read Mao, Marx, and Lenin, but that it did not make him a Communist.

“So what is wrong with understanding…about the country for which we are here to defend?” he said.

His response was cheered by leftists on social media as a defense of critical race theory:

Holy shit, General Mark Milley drops knowledge on the importance of teaching Critical Race Theory.
BRILLIANT.
— BrooklynDad_Defiant! (@mmpadellan) June 23, 2021

Earlier in the hearing, Republican lawmakers also questioned the Pentagon’s focus on extremism and trying to root out “extremists” from the military without having a definition of what “extremism” is.

Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) said she has sent two letters to Austin asking him how the Pentagon defines extremism without any response. She asked him directly: “Does the Department of Defense have a clear definition of extremism?”

Austin said, “We are focused on extremist behavior. Not what people think or political ideas or religious ideas, but extremist behavior.” Hartzler pressed again, “So, do you have a definition of what extremism is? And what the behavior is?”

Austin responded, “Again, we’re focused on behavior.”

Hartzler asked how he ordered an entire day to do training on extremism without having a definition.

“The purpose was to–to–to help–to have a discussion with–with our troops and our leaders on the issue extremism,” he said. “And that was very productive.

And–and, again, we were focused on those behaviors that don’t–that are not in congruence with–with our values in the military.”

When asked if someone’s support for former President Donald Trump could be viewed as “extremism,” Austin responded, “As I said earlier, this is not about politics. I went our troops to–to–to participate in our political system. That’s what they’re fighting to defend and–and I will also say that–that we will continue to be a diverse–a diverse and inclusive organization. And that’s what the United States military is all about.”

Hartzler responded, “So, I would just encourage us not to entrench on our liberties.”

If we don’t SQUASH critical race theory, America could be OVER

Jun 23, 2021

Glenn Beck

The mainstream media's latest spin is that critical race theory is NOT being taught in schools throughout the nation. Even further, reporters like Chuck Todd are working overtime to convince their viewers that those arguing against CRT are racist, white, Republicans — they're just angry Trump voters looking for their next war to wage. But that’s FAR from the truth. Critical race theory is NOT arcane. It IS dangerous. And, Glenn argues, if it’s not squashed and the left succeeds with its indoctrination, America as we know it WILL be over…

PolitiCrossing founder Chris Widener talks about why civil disobedience works and why it is time for conservatives to make the decision to no longer comply. Yes, there are ramifications and you need to know what they are and be willing to accept them. No violence. No anger. No craziness. Just civil disobedience. Let the left act out in their criminality. We will be peacefully non-compliant. Watch the video below:

Amazon Spends Thousands to Distribute Far-Left ‘Anti-Racist’ Book to Virginia Schools

By Eric Lendrum
June 23, 2021

The tech giant Amazon has spent thousands of dollars to help distribute copies of an infamous far-left book full of anti-White teachings to public schools in the state of Virginia, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

The scheme was revealed after emails between Amazon and officials at Arlington Public Schools were obtained by the nonprofit group Parents Defending Education (PRE), a grassroots organization that is fighting far-left indoctrination in schools. The emails reveal that Amazon is planning its own initiative titled “NeighborGood,” in which the company offered to donate up to $100,000 to various entities that “empower black voices and serve black communities.”

Although the “director of diversity and inclusion” at Arlington Public Schools, Arron Gregory, rejected this broader offer from Amazon, he did request that Amazon fund the purchase and distribution of between 500 and 600 copies of the book “Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You,” by far-left author Ibram X. Kendi. Amazon spent about $5,000 on this effort, as well as $10,000 to bring Kendi’s co-author, Jason Reynolds, to give a speech to students.

In a statement addressing the revelations, PRE’s vice president Asra Nomani criticized the “shortsighted” decision of Amazon and Arlington Public Schools to focus on the spreading of Critical Race Theory, instead of further addressing logistical difficulties due to the pandemic and lockdown.

“Instead of donating Kindles and hot spots to students in Arlington Public Schools,” Nomani’s statement read, “Amazon chose to spread the controversial ideology of Critical Race Theory. The shortsighted decisions during a pandemic, with so many students vulnerable, reflect the national crisis of school districts circumventing parents to indoctrinate students; in this case, with the help of corporate America.”

When reached out to for comment, Arlington Public Schools directed all inquiries on the matter to Amazon. When Amazon was reached out to, they did not respond.

New Video Shows University Of Oklahoma Faculty Teaching How To Silence And Punish ‘Problematic’ Conservatives

New Video Shows University Of Oklahoma Faculty Teaching How To Silence And Punish ‘Problematic’ Conservatives

'In the classroom, free speech does not apply,' a workshop spokeswoman said. 'As instructors, we can tell our students no, you do not have the right to say that, stop talking right now.'

Audrey Unverferth

By Audrey Unverferth
JUNE 23, 2021

According to newly released video footage, University of Oklahoma instructors want to punish students who defy campus orthodoxy. Their plan is to “avoid ‘a rhetoric of dysfunctional silence’ that closes ears to marginalized voices,” by — you guessed it — silencing marginalized voices.

On Tuesday, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), a nonprofit focused on protecting campus free speech, publicized video footage of an April 14 workshop on “Anti-Racist Rhetoric & Pedagogies” at the University of Oklahoma (OU). The workshop’s leaders presented slides about “systemic racism,” “white privilege,” and “subverting white institutional defensiveness.” In an attempt to teach so-called antiracism, the workshop’s leaders also promoted censorship and indoctrination.

The event was “one of nine professional development workshops for instructors and grad students” at OU. During the workshop, three faculty members taught their colleagues “how to foster an anti-racist environment in their classrooms,” brainstorming tactics for dissuading, censoring, and penalizing “problematic” speech.

View: https://twitter.com/i/status/1407372370814279683
1:52 min

One of the workshop’s spokeswomen, Kelli Pyron Alvarez, said she prohibits “white supremacist ideas or sources” as well as “derogatory remarks, critiques, and hate speech” from her classroom — unless, of course, students use them to be “antiracist” crusaders against racism. Pyron Alvarez failed to explicitly define the ideas and sources she forbids, but she plans to reprimand those who deviate from her script.

“If [students] use any of those things, if any of those come through in their writing or in their comments, I will call them out on it,” she explained. And if a student errs in front of her a second time, she wants him to be formally reported. “In the classroom, free speech does not apply,” she said.

Unsurprisingly, Pyron Alvarez noted that her students didn’t challenge her method of teaching last semester. She successfully chilled all dissenting speech.

“Imagine being an OU student who is ‘reported,’ presumably to the administration, simply for your choice of text to analyze or what sources you include in a bibliography,” FIRE wrote in response, highlighting the absurdity of promoting such an intolerant snitch culture. According to FIRE, OU’s workshop “raises alarm bells about the state of free expression and freedom of conscience at Oklahoma’s flagship university.”

“The workshop in question trains instructors on how to eliminate disfavored but constitutionally protected expression from the classroom and guide assignments and discussion into preferred areas — all for unambiguously ideological and viewpoint-based reasons,” FIRE emphasized.

For example, students in Principles of English Composition must choose independent research projects, but FIRE explained that “the faculty conducting the training show the participants how they might lead students not only to topics the instructors find appropriate, but also to the side of the argument that the instructors prefer.”

OU instructors exist in an academic climate that seemingly emboldens them to continue dictating student speech. Pyron Alvarez confidently celebrated the power she thinks she and her colleagues exert over those they teach. “One of the fears is that we’re going to get in trouble for this, right? Like we can’t tell students that they can’t say something in class. But we can! And let me tell you how,” she bragged.

Her colleague and fellow workshop spokeswoman Kasey Woody, who is confident she and her colleagues won’t suffer consequences for promoting student censorship, elaborated: “I, in this case, usually look for my students who might be, like, entertaining the idea of listening to a problematic argument. Then I say, ‘We don’t have to listen to that.’”

“That’s right,” FIRE wrote, “even thinking about listening to a disfavored argument is apparently to be discouraged.” Students can’t write about “unacceptable” topics, such as “whether refusing to use preferred pronouns is hate speech” or whether Black Lives Matter should “engage in property destruction.”

Meanwhile, Pyron Alvarez wrongly thinks the Supreme Court emboldens her to silence disfavored speech. “The Supreme Court has actually upheld that hate speech, derogatory speech, any of the -isms do not apply in the classroom because they do not foster a productive learning environment,” she claimed.

“And so, as instructors, we can tell our students: ‘No, you do not have the right to say that. Stop talking right now,’ right?”

FIRE disagrees. “Professors cannot abuse their power to require students to personally adhere to a particular viewpoint or ideology,” the organization said.

Of course, FIRE spends a significant amount of its own time and resources defending the academic freedoms of university faculty. Such individuals possess “wide latitude to manage the atmosphere and tone of the classroom,” something FIRE often describes in great detail.

FIRE, however, makes a distinction. “As the AAUP has written, instructors have academic freedom of ‘instruction, not indoctrination.’” Furthermore, “there’s no question that a significant amount of this workshop teaches participants how to indoctrinate instead of how to instruct.” The workshop leaders mistakenly “conflate disagreement with disruption to such an extent that they call it a valid reason for reporting students for discipline.”

This isn’t the first time FIRE has criticized OU for — to use the workshop leaders’ own terminology — “problematic” initiatives, and the organization says the university’s “students deserve better.” To demand change, FIRE is collecting submission forms to “let leaders in Oklahoma know that this type of indoctrination is not acceptable.”

Readers can view the full video of the workshop here.

It’s Beginning to Look Like Enemy Action
By John Green

Dong Jingwei is a Chinese defector working with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). He served as Vice Minister of State Security in the Chinese Ministry of Defense. Before defecting, he was responsible for the counterintelligence efforts in China. He was in a position to know about all things “espionage” in China and is perhaps the highest-level Chinese defector the U.S. has ever had. Even though the legacy media is playing it down, this is a big deal.

It speaks volumes that the man who knows the identity of all the Chinese spies in our country chose to defect to the DIA and only the DIA. Further, it’s reported that the DIA is not sharing the information it’s receiving with the FBI or CIA.

Now, why would that be?

Dong provided details of meetings between U.S. officials, Chinese spies, and Russian SVR agents. He also provided details about how the Chinese government gained access to CIA communications, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of CIA assets. Anonymous sources are also reporting that members of the federal law enforcement community (i.e. FBI) are “scared s**tless” about Dong’s information.

Is it possible that the FBI and CIA are hopelessly compromised? As we’d say in Minnesota -- you betcha!

Dong has allegedly provided the names of Chinese spies working or attending universities in the U.S. He claims that a third of Chinese students in this country are actually PLA assets. To validate his claims, Dong has provided financial records showing which businessmen and public officials have received money from the Chinese Government. Private persons receiving money may or may not be illegal depending on what they’re doing for it. If they’re selling protected technology, it’s illegal. If they’re influencing public opinion, it may not be illegal, but is still problematic. However, public officials receiving money is a huge deal -- it’s either bribery or espionage.

How much are businesses, educators, public officials, and opinion influencers beholden to China? It appears to be a disturbing number.

Dong provided copies of Hunter Biden’s laptop hard drives to the DIA. Granted, there’s not much that’s secret about that laptop anymore. But isn’t China verifying their possession of those drives kind of like a blackmailer showing his victim pictures of himself in bed with an underage girl? How incriminating is that picture when information from Hunter’s laptop is combined with financial records which the Chinese surely have? Maybe there’s more than one underage girl in that photo.

In 2015, the Aviation Industry Corp of China (AVIC) acquired Henniges Automotive. This acquisition is significant because Henniges Automotive provides stealth technology for the F-35 program. AVIC’s U.S. partners in this acquisition were none other than Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz. The acquisition was approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Secretary of State John Kerry was a member of the CFIUS during this decision. He is also the stepfather of -- surprise, surprise -- Chris Heinz! Dong provided details of how China was able to acquire stealth technology after the U.S. approved its purchase of Henniges Automotive.

Anyone who doesn’t see that the Biden family's financial ties to China leave President Asterisk vulnerable to blackmail is hopelessly naïve.

230414_5_.png

Dong provided copies of pathogenic studies to the DIA which show that the Chinese military was involved in the development of the COVID-19 virus. He also provided copies of Chinese models which predicted the spread and damage that the pandemic would do to the U.S. and the rest of the world. Given what we’re learning about Dr. Fauci and his “gain of function” research, we may have paid China to develop a weapon that was used against us.

Further, the Chinese government changed the travel plans of Chinese students returning to the U.S. after the Christmas break. Their travel plans were advanced so that they returned much earlier than originally planned -- prior to the outbreak of the pandemic. Dong reportedly claimed that they were tasked to gather information about the U.S. response to the pandemic. They were to gather information on:
  • Policy changes
  • Economic response and damage
  • Impacts on the healthcare system
  • Impacts on the supply chain
  • Civil unrest
The implication is that even if the Chinese government did not intentionally release the virus, they intentionally let it spread and used it as an espionage bonanza. As a side benefit to the Chinese, COVID-19 provided the excuse for massive election changes, which facilitated the removal of President Donald Trump -- China’s greatest threat. They learned from the Democrats not to let a good crisis go to waste.

As far as we know, Dong has not provided any direct information about BLM or Antifa. However, the fact that returning Chinese students were tasked to monitor civil unrest is quite curious. If our FBI and CIA weren’t hopelessly compromised, they might consider following the money. But we already know that won’t be happening.

This all brings me to the most important point -- have we been under attack from China and didn’t know it? A colleague recently reminded me of the Goldfinger dictum: “Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times, now that is enemy action.”

BRUTAL! Matt Gaetz NAILS Sec. of Defense Lloyd Austin on His Racist Trainings and Crazed Advisors — Secretary Austin Spins BS (VIDEO)

By Jim Hoft

gaetz-lloyd-austin-.jpg

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) confronted Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on his controversial and abusive trainings he and the Biden Administration are implementing on the US military since January.

Austin’s plans include ignoring Black Lives Matter terrorism, weeding out Trump loyalists, and transforming the US military into a hatefilled, woke social justice warriors.

On Wednesday Matt Gaetz asked the Defense Secretary about his attempts to push critical race theory in the US military.

Lloyd Austin lied, saying, “We do not teach critical race theory. We don’t embrace critical race theory and I think that’s a spurious conservation. And so we are focused on extremist behaviors. And not ideology, not people’s thoughts, not people’s political orientation.”

This is a blatant lie.
Space Force unit commander Capt. Matthew Lohmeier was recently removed from his post for criticizing Marxism.

Gaetz then NAILED Lloyd Austin on his spurious responses.

Via Mediaite:
Gaetz continued to lambaste Garrison over his Twitter history, noting one social media post where Garrison criticized former President Donald Trump, and another in which Gaetz accused him of making an “ethno-nationalist” reference to former President Barack Obama.

“Could you enlighten us as to what advice Mr. Garrison has given you, and are you concerned that while you testified publicly to our committee that the department doesn’t embrace critical race theory, you have hired someone who is precisely a critical race theorist?”

Austin responded that he has never personally reviewed Garrison’s tweets, but he never heard him described as a “critical race theorist” before.

“Let me just share one other thing that you brought up, Congressman, about the input that comes to me,” Austin said. “I trust my leadership, from top to bottom, that they will give me fair and balanced and unvarnished input. And for you to say that people are telling me what I want to hear — I get it, but I’m smart enough to know…”

“That does happen,” Gaetz interjected.

“Yeah, you know, maybe they’re telling you what you want to hear!” Austin countered.
Matt Gaetz won that round.

It helps that Gaetz was honest and used facts.

UNHINGED Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark A. Milley GOES OFF During Testimony – Blames “White Rage” for Jan. 6 Attacks – Brags About Reading Marx and Lenin (VIDEO)

As we reported, Matt Gaetz grilled Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin today on the racist training he is pushing in the military through his crazed advisors and policies.

After Gaetz’s time was up, the next Representative, Houlahan, a Democrat, asked General Miley if he wanted to respond to what Gaetz had asked. The General tried to step in when Gaetz was questioning the highly unimpressive Austin, but Gaetz reclaimed his time. Here is what the General said after stating he thought the soldiers in the military should be widely read:
I want to understand white rage, and I’m white, and I want to understand it. So what is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the Constitution of the United States of America. What caused that? I want to find that out…I’ve read Mao Tse-Tung , I’ve read Karl Marz. I’ve read Lenin…”

It is shocking that one of the very top individuals in our military believes in the lie that Americans tried to overturn our Constitution on January 6th while ignoring the riots outside the White House during the summer of 2020. President Trump was in much more danger than anyone on January 6th and Milley refused to provide troops to protect the President.

And, by the way, who reads Marx, Lenin, and Mao? The only people I could guess have read those individuals are committed communists. This is scary.
General Miley and Secretary of Defense Austin should resign now.

Poll: Majority Say Religious Freedom ‘Very’ Important to a Healthy American Society

HANNAH BLEAU22 Jun 2021129

The vast majority of voters believe religious freedom is “very” important to a healthy American society, and half of Americans do not believe churches and faith-based charities should be required to hire people who oppose their religious beliefs, a Summit.org/Rasmussen Reports survey released this week found.

The survey asked respondents, “How important is freedom of religion to a healthy American society?”

Eighty-two percent said it is at least “somewhat” important, but of those, 67 percent consider it “very” important. These sentiments are held across party lines, with 86 percent of Republicans considering it “very important or somewhat important to a healthy American society,” followed by 83 percent of independents and 79 percent of Democrats, all of whom agree.

The survey also asked, “Should churches and faith-based charities be required by law to hire people who oppose their religious beliefs?”

While one in five said yes, 50 percent across the board said no, and 30 percent said they remained unsure.
Per the press release:
  • 60% of Republican voters say churches and faith-based charities should not be required by law to hire people who oppose their religious beliefs, 14% say they should be legally required
  • 54% of Independent voters say churches and faith-based charities should not be required by law to hire people who oppose their religious beliefs, 16% say they should be legally required
  • 37% of Democrat voters say churches and faith-based charities should not be required by law to hire people who oppose their religious beliefs, 28% say they should be legally required
“This research affirms that the American people overwhelmingly support the continued protection of the Constitutional right of freedom of religion, and oppose policies requiring churches and faith-based charities and organizations to compromise their deeply-held religious beliefs,” Dr. Jeff Myers of Summit.org said in a statement.

“Yet, leaders in Washington, DC are aggressively pushing forward on legislative measures such as the mislabeled Equality Act, which specifically strips away religious freedom protections,” Myers continued.

“In an era of hyper-partisanship, freedom of religion retains broad, bipartisan support among Democrats, Republicans, and Independents,” he added.

1624511193676.png

The survey, taken June 16-17 among 1,000 likely voters, has a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.

The poll coincides with the far-left’s push to make the Equality Act a reality. The measure, which effectively ends the legal definition of biological sex, passed in the Democrat-led House in February. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) is among those who have described the bill as an assault on religious freedom.

“What this bill, the so-called Equality Act, is really about, it’s not about giving rights, this is about taking away rights,” he said on the House floor prior to the vote.

1624511107731.png

“This is saying that part of the First Amendment that states, ‘Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;’ that’s gotta go!'” he explained.

As Breitbart News reported, the rule would “outlaw any legal recognition or civic support for single-sex activities,” including religious practices.

Army Battalion Commander Under Inquiry After Allegedly Telling Soldiers ‘White People Are the Problem’

KRISTINA WONG17 Jun 20215,805

Army Lieutenant Col. Andrew Rhodes, the commander of the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Regimental Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, is under preliminary inquiry after allegedly telling troops that “white people are the problem,” according to an Army spokesperson.

“The command is aware of an event involving one of our battalion commanders, we are conducting a preliminary inquiry to gather more information,” a spokesperson told Breitbart News in an email on Wednesday, adding “It would be inappropriate to provide any further details in order to protect the integrity of the inquiry.”

According to an eyewitness source, after soldiers in the battalion received a quarterly Equal Opportunity (EO) brief by an EO representative, Rhodes made additional remarks.

Rhodes allegedly told soldiers that EO and SHARP (Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention) were very important to him, that he would take every accusation very seriously, and that he believed there was only a .01% false accusation rate.

He then allegedly said “white people are the problem” and that white people correcting white people is the way to fix the culture in the military, and that soldiers could not depend on minorities to correct the majority.

The source told Breitbart News: “I agree with some of the statements but I believe it sets a dangerous standard for abusing the already broken Army programs,” adding:
I agreed that some of the culture in the Army needs to change, [but I] didn’t agree with how he singled out that white people are the issue and need to fix ourselves. [It] sounds like he’s only going after one group of people. And saying you will believe everyone sets a dangerous standard. For example, if I don’t like Sgt. Joe, I can just go make a report against him. It may come out with no results but that guy is still known for my complaint against him, and the battalion commander will back him/her all the way.
The source clarified the broken Army programs are SHARP and EO programs: “They have their need in the Army of course — just abused sometimes.”

The source also said others thought Rhodes’ statements were “a bit much and a blanket statement for a very broad subject.”

The source said Rhodes spoke to small groups at a time and that he made similar remarks to other groups throughout the day.

Rhodes’s alleged remarks first came to light after Instagram account TerminalCWO highlighted them on June 8, and then Human Events’s Jack Posobiec reported on them.

TerminalCWO posted a private message from someone attempting to explain Rhodes’s remarks. It said:
I know the [battalion commander] today said, ‘if you’re a white male you are part of the problem’. Understand that what he meant is that if you aren’t working to solve the problem of SHARP or EO, you are part of the problem. Complacency is the issue. That’s why he immediately follow [sic] the comment with the example of making a correction in private. If you or your soldiers have any questions about what was said today please have them come talk to me or SFC [redacted]. Make sure this gets down to the lowest level.
Responses can be seen that say, “I mean that’s racist but we’ll just ignore that I guess,” and “To [sic] late he is a racist to white people in my eyes.”

Another person claimed Rhodes rambled about how if soldiers did not like “how woke the army is getting then get the f*ck out of it.”

TerminalCWO posted the messages along with its own caption: “I hope you’re not white or ever accused of anything while you’re in his command. You’re already guilty, and you didn’t even know it!”

Rhodes ran a Twitter account, first reported by Posobiec, where he described himself as: “US Army infantry LTC. Fervent anti-racist & anti-sexist. Trying my best. He/him. Colorado Springs, CO.” The account has since been deleted.

Is Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin Really This Clueless?

By Larry Johnson

Lloyd Austin always had the reputation while on active duty of being the affirmative action hire as he moved up the ranks. In other words, he got his job because of the color of his skin and not because of his performance. You want proof? Just watch his exchange today with Congressman Matt Gaetz regarding Bishop Garrison (start at 3:20):

View: https://youtu.be/3uIZ4C3Y0Ng
17:34 min

Bishop Garrison’s record as a racist is quite clear. Consider this excerpt from a piece published in August 2019:
We will continue to face the nation-ending threat of white supremacy and white nationalist extremism unless we invest in Combating Violent Extremism (CVE) programs, which this administration has cut, and find the courage to have honest-to-God difficult, uncomfortable conversations in our homes and communities about our history of race and privilege in America and how it has shaped our lives today.

An example of this in practice is the New York Times Magazine’s 1619 Project, a series of opinion pieces, poetry, essays, and historical works designed to inform readers on the treatment and history of slavery, segregation, and Jim Crow laws in America. The project’s title comes from the August anniversary of the arrival of the first African slaves, 20-30 individuals from what is now modern-day Angola, in the British American colonies. Each work highlights not only past atrocities and injustices experienced by black Americans, but ongoing systemic issues that have plagued the nation from its original sin of slavery into the present day. It’s an important effort that may very well shape the dialogue around race, inclusion, and the need for steadfast policies that may one day fill the discriminatory gaps in our society and help heal the country. And the effort is, somehow, in 2019, controversial.

While pundits clutch pearls and attempt to convince us that the 1619 Project is a lie, that it’s really white society under attack, and that we’re in a post-racial society because we once had a black man as president, more radicalized white supremacists will shoot up schools, markets, stores, and places of worship to assert their ideology. We are not required to blindly believe pundits. We must not be bullied by maniacs who seek power through semi-automatic rifles. We must not run from engagement with each other; the change we desire can be achieved through heartfelt, frequently difficult, and awkward conversations among family, friends, and neighbors about race and its continued impact on our lives. Reading the 1619 Project is a good place to start.
There you have it. Garrison embraces as true the claim that White extremism is running rampant and that the 1619 Project, a black version of Mein Kampf, is somehow essential reading.

It is astonishing that Lloyd Austin would admit he had no idea that Bishop Garrison is associated with Critical Race Theory. Reminds me of Butterfly McQueen’s iconic scene from Gone With the Wind.

Lloyd Austin is not a stupid man. He is educated and articulate. More articulate in fact than that dunderhead Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Milley (see Jim Hoft’s skewering of the clueless General here for his lame attempt to suck up to Austin). But Austin is either lying or is intellectually incurious. Who would give Garrison the position of Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defense for Diversity and Inclusion without checking out his writings and public comments?

Garrison is the anti-Martin Luther King. He does not give a damn about one’s character. For him it is all about the color of a person’s skin. That is the essence of racism.

Worse, Garrison embraces a definition of “extremism” that mimics what Britain’s King George said about the patriots of 1776:
A leaked 17-page DARPA memo from March 27, 2021 entitled “Extremism and Insider Threat in the DoD” provides a clue as to what new categories of lawful thoughts, associations and reading materials are likely to be scanned and banned by Bishop Garrison’s CEWG.

DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency colloquially known as “The Pentagon’s Brain,” recommended a brand new category called “Patriot Extremism,” which occurs when a citizen believes “the US government has become corrupt” or “has overstepped its constitutional boundaries”
The truth of the current reality in Washington, DC is that corruption is rampant. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin embodies this corruption. He retired from the Army in 2016 snagged sweetheart positions on the boards of Raytheon Technologies, Nucor, and Tenet Healthcare.

Here we have a black man raking in millions because of his military service yet we are asked to believe that blacks are so victimized by white supremacists that they can’t get a break. Give me a break. This is patent nonsense.

It is time for true American patriots to rally around the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King:

EXPOSED: White House publishes plan to combat domestic ‘TERROR’
Jun 23, 2021

Glenn Beck

The White House recently unveiled its ‘national strategy for countering domestic terrorism.’ It’s nothing but a ‘political paper,’ Glenn says, but it holds some clues for how this administration plans to combat such threats. Their approach includes not only addressing the issue across nearly every societal institution, but also by allowing for the government to gather more information and analysis on the characteristics that potentially could lead to domestic terror. Hmm…what could POSSIBLY go wrong?!

Years of Watching General Mark Milley Finally Make Sense – The Chairman of The Joint Chiefs is a Political Operative

June 23, 2021 | Sundance | 399 Comments

A statement made by Joint Chiefs Chairman General Mark Milley defending the teaching Critical Race Theory to West Point cadets has gained some attention. However, the comments Milley made today actually reconcile several years of CTH watching Milley operate and having puzzling questions.

Remember, General Milley did some really odd things as Joint Chiefs Chairman under President Trump:

(1) Milley never removed Lt. Col Alexander Vindman from his White House post after the underling compromised his leadership position. The pentagon left Vindman on assignment to the NSC even after Vindman attempted to take-down President Trump.

(2) Milley was then slow to react to Navy Secretary Richard Spencer threatening President Trump; attempting to extort him into inaction over the disciplinary plans against the SEAL commando, Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher. And perhaps worst of all…

(3) Joint Chief Chairman Milley, SoS Mike Pompeo traveled to Mar-a-Lago in December 2019, where they informed President Trump of military strikes in Syria and Iraq *after* they took place. [Background Here] [Background Here]. President Trump made Esper, Milley and Pompeo hold a press conference without Trump supporting them; then President Trump remained silent on the issue for days.

It seemed like CTH was alone noticing the issues with the Pentagon and suspicions of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley. However, a few days after the Mar-a-Lago incident Col Douglas Macgregor expressed his own suspicions about the U.S. military attack in Iraq and Syria that paralleled our gut reaction. Macgregor stated he believed President Trump was being intentionally and “skillfully, misinformed”.

There were valid reasons for suspicion around General Milley and the entire Pentagon apparatus.

Factually, President Trump’s strategic approach toward foreign threats and foreign intervention (through the use of geopolitical economic pressure) was a major paradigm shift that removed the Defense Department from a primary role and placed them back into a more appropriate ‘contingency’ role, when it came to foreign policy and national security.

It was obvious from the outset of the Trump administration the Pentagon did not like that position.

Before explaining more, let us watch General Milley today outline his worldview on internal domestic politics. Note how Milley connects the teaching of Critical Race Theory to his view that people attempted to “assault” the DC Capitol and “overturn the constitution of the United States“. Watch this carefully because in many ways he is saying the quiet thing out loud:

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUBDHs55_1U

2 minute run time

In the big picture it was not difficult to figure out why the Pentagon would be opposed to Trump. During the Trump campaign and early administration President Trump’s expressed foreign policy was viewed by NATO alliance members as a threat. President Trump dared to tell them their “cold war mentality” was outdated. Heck, the NATO members were simultaneously purchasing energy from Russia at the same time they were demanding the U.S. military protect them from any Russian aggression.

The same type of common sense perspective that startled the NATO alliance members applied internally to the U.S. military.

President Trump’s preferred use of economic warfare made the Pentagon’s role diminished. Instead of punching North Korea’s Kim Jong-un, President Trump hit the checkbook of Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping (tariffs etc.) and then opened diplomatic discussions with the DPRK Chairman. Toward the threat from North Korea the primary military response became the contingency plan; President Trump engaged in economic leverage, not military…. and it worked.

As a consequence the value of James Mattis was replaced by the effectiveness of U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer. Joint Chief’s Milley was not in the primary planning room; Milley was replaced by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross (until he’s needed).

In the Trump era the President was telling the Pentagon where and when to position; and then asked them for ‘contingency’ preparation. Decades of Pentagon-centric foreign policy was lessened by an entirely new geopolitical approach based on an economic strategy. This was, in essence, the Trump Doctrine.

Take away power, or worse yet, stop using military power, and the leaders within the system start to sense their institution becoming functionally obsolescent. Overlay this military fear with pre-existing ideological differences and the situation gets worse.

Unfortunately, like all other issues in the era of hyper-polarization, normally liberal democrats would be alarmed about military leadership going rogue with their own agenda. However, as long as that agenda was anti-Trump, the political-left with a totalitarian outlook are now okay with it.

In 2020 Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden was openly asking the U.S. military to initiate a coup against President Trump. The corporate media didn’t bat an eyelash… The traditional checks-and-balances, things that normally keep us stable, started getting very sketchy within the military; this has only gotten worse in the past year.

Remember,… the impeachment effort was only a “soft-coup” until the uniformed military showed up. Yet these same Pentagon leaders have the nerve now to call a protest in DC, likely manipulated by the FBI, an insurrection “intended to overturn the constitution of the United States of America.” The one thing these leftist ideologues are good at is projection.

“Tell me again how we should “back the blue”, as we watch parents arrested at school board meetings. Tell me again that most FBI agents are good & legitimate, while we watch 15 agents investigate a garage pull-down cord while ‘known wolfes’ roam free. Tell me again. Please, keep telling me…. and when the order comes down to go door to door to collect citizens’ firearms, or to arrest citizens for wrong thoughts, our local police and military will follow orders”… and I will say “tell me again”, in handcuffs.

Understanding White Rage

E4grAgHXEAI5tBz

The only color in the Army is green.

The main reason I prefer blogging over newspapering is blog readers contact you. Some readers have corresponded with me for years. They come from all walks of life, and in sharing with me their experiences, they make me a better writer.

One of my longtime readers explained white privilege in a letter to General Milley, which he emailed to me yesterday.

The letter began, "First, a sincere thank you for your service to our country. I am blessed and have so many freedoms others in this world do not have due to the men and women of our Armed Forces. This thanks is from the heart.

"I heard about your testimony today that you are trying to understand White Rage. Perhaps I can be of help here.

"My great-grandmother came to this country around 1890 from Germany with her husband and two young children. She had a rough life. Her husband was killed shortly after arriving, but she was able to remarry and eventually had a total of four children that she raised. Per family lore, she was always grateful the opportunity this country gave her. When WW II came, she had four grandsons who served. The year 1944 was very difficult for her.

"Her grandson Lewis was badly injured in a military accident in August of 1944 and was hospitalized for months. He did recover.

"Her grandson Mel was wounded at Ormoc Bay in December of 1944, where he was recommended for the Silver Star.

"Her grandson Dale was missing in action in October of 1944. He was found alive in May of 1945 in a German P.O.W. camp.

"Her grandson Bur's life ended at a place called Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. His death devastated her and many members of the family. His father never recovered, he became a recluse.

"Seventy-seven years later (2021), our liberal establishment is describing people like my great-grandmother as an individual of white privilege, an individual who didn’t know the true value of suffering. She was part of the ruling establishment responsible for the sins of slavery.

"General, with all due respect, does this help you to understand White Rage? Again, thank you for your service."
***

There was a follow-up letter from my reader, "Going through my father’s scrapbook after he passed away, I came across some pictures and found out they were his three best friends in College before the war.

"Harold C. was killed in the Marine Corpa while training to be a pilot. His family were Jewish immigrants from the Soviet Union.

"Whitey L., a navigator, died in January of 1944 when his plane went down while transporting supplies to Europe. He lettered in three sports in college: Basketball, track and football. He was a major league baseball prospect when the war started.

"Charlie M., also a navigator, he died in a bombing raid over Germany in July of 1944. An honorable mention All-American football player and an all around nice guy per my father's yearbook.

"Finally there are two shipmates of my father. They must have meant something to them because he took both their pictures and had them saved in his scrapbook.

"Both of these men were killed in action on December 12, 1944 at Ormoc Bay.

"Again, General, thanks for your service and perhaps this help you understand why such a thing as White Rage exists. Per the liberal establishment these men are part of the oppressing class responsible for all sorts of evils in American History. They and their families did not suffer.

"I think, no, I know. All these people suffered."

My reader then emailed me, "I have a picture of my great grandmother on my mother’s side who came from Scotland about 1880. She had seven grandsons that served in World War II. One volunteered as a test pilot and was killed in a plane crash in 1944. My mom was close to him. His father, my great uncle, never recover from his son's death and died in 1946. Another grandson was permanently disabled during training. I have no real information on the others."

He included photos of his father Mel and all the men he mentioned. Out of concern for reader privacy, I won't show those photos.

I do know Mel suffered years of PTSD. I have verified this. Mel was a hero who saved hundreds of men's lives, but he was haunted by the horrors of war and the one man whose life he did not save.

And my reader suffered for it, too, because while his father was loving, a good provider, a productive member of society (an understatement), and a good role model, his PTSD was always there as well.

His family arrived here in 1880 and 1890 -- long after slavery ended. They lived in the North, not the segregated South. His Great-Grandmas, their children, and their grandchildren sacrificed and suffered for this great nation during World War II.

How dare Milley or anyone imply they are a privileged class because of the color of their skin!

But I know the answer. Milley is a political general who puts politics above military duty. He is a modern McClellan, a detestable man who defied like Lincoln. In 1864 -- amid a Civil War that McClellan deliberately helped lengthen -- he ran against Lincoln for president.

Yes, a century-and-a-half before Trump Derangement Syndrome, there was Lincoln Derangement Syndrome, which led to his assassination.

Milley's sanctimonious embrace of racism against white people is just as bad as the racism Democrats embraced against black people.

That is an outrage, and many white people are enraged by it.

And black men died in World War II as well. They loved their country and hoped someday to be accepted as more than second-class citizens. I had a sixth grade teacher who one day told the class that he was angry that the Army consigned black soldiers to driving trucks instead of tanks.

As I said, readers are very kind to me. They point out typos and send me news items. They share their experiences with me. Usually, I keep it to myself but every now and then, circumstances warrant my sharing the story with all my readers.

I think the outrage behind the so-called "Insurrection" was that our institutions [courts, elected representatives, FBI/law enforcement, Executive (Pence),] were so corrupted/bought off, politicized, lacking in courage, inefficient, bound up in legalese, that they could not halt the finalization of an election process for close re examination, when half the country believed there had been serious, and notorious fraud that had materially altered the election results.

The outrage was over the fundamental question as to whether the election truly represented the consent of the people to this government. Is not this persistent question worthy of scrutiny at the level of an AZ audit. It is a question that is not going away, no matter how social and mainstream media try and suppress it and Nancy and Chuck hype it and manufacture show trials and parades of umbrage.

The outrage over CRT and our children is that, with the enlightenment of the Civil Rights movement, we have taken great care to teach our children that we are all created equal by God and that we are to be color blind in our relationships with one another. Here comes CRT perpetrating the very same heinous prejudice against white people as had been perpetrated on black. CRT sets white people apart, demonizes them as oppressors and treats them as less worthy of the benefits of society and government. Whites are "less than equal," and all of this is falling upon innocent children who are being taught that this is fact. It is not something they can change. They are declared evil because heir skin color.

CRT also teaches children of color that they are victims of white people, and not responsible for outcomes in their own life due to oppression. This leads to hopelessness, hatred violence, and acts of retribution against whites. At the very least, it leads to unequal treatment in government programs, educational and economic opportunities against whites. It teaches white children that this is fair punishment for their badness for being white.

On the societal level, CRT as antiracism teaches that racism is systematic in America. It permeates all our institutions so they must be torn down and "built back better" to eliminate "whiteness." This notion of "whiteness" includes: our history, culture, our values, our economy, our medical system, our zoning, our justice system, our elections, "our democracy," etc.

At the last census in 2010, about 75% of the population was white. This population includes immigrants dating back to the 1620s who brought western values, cultures and beliefs to America and integrated them into one America. In 2010, only about 12% of the population was black and stable. 16% was Hispanic and growing. Due to heavily Catholic religious roots, some Hispanics share many of the same Western cultural beliefs as white Americans as do Evangelical blacks.

"White rage" comes from place of resistance to a minority challenge to a system which has accommodated demographics by institutionalizing the ideal of "color blindness" through years of struggle and great change. It is partially White confusion and umbrage. Are blacks really so different in beliefs from white Americans that they want to tear down all of our institutions?

It is evident to many that CRT and the anti-racist movement is more about setting up the foundations of racial warfare, just like the Marxist's used class warfare, to justify a radical tearing down of our American institutions. They are initiating "privilege" struggle sessions and cancel culture to punish "old thinking" and usher in "our democracy" (whatever that is) in place of our Constitution.

The Systemic Con Behind Wokeism

BY VICTOR DAVIS HANSON JUN 24, 2021 12:10 AM ET

There are lots of reasons why wokeism spread like wildfire once America lost its collective mind during the pandemic, quarantine, self-induced recession and rioting of 2020.

Wokeism was never really about racism, sexism or other isms. For some, it illustrated a psychological pathology of projection: transferring one’s own prejudices onto others in order to alleviate or mask them.

So should we laugh or cry that Black Lives Matter’s self-described Marxist co-ounder might be a corporate grifter? According to a New York Post report, Patrisse Khan-Cullors has accumulated several upscale homes, and one of her foundations failed to report significant donations to the IRS. Is it the case that the more Khan-Cullors professes Marxist ideology and damns toxic whiteness, the more she feels comfortable living in a $1.4 million home in Southern California’s ritzy Topanga Canyon area?

Consider Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), an outspoken liberal icon. He’s one of the Senate’s most woke members. Yet Whitehouse turns out to be a member of a de facto all-white beach club of elites in Newport, Rhode Island. Is Whitehouse committed in the abstract to rooting out white privilege so he can concretely relax amid it with fellow bluebloods?

Barack and Michelle Obama occasionally venture out of their multimillion-dollar Washington, D.C., mansion or their Martha’s Vineyard estate to lecture the country on its systemic racism. Does such sermonizing square the circle that the Obamas have no desire to return to their Chicago home — a city where hundreds African-American males were murdered in 2020, most of them by other black men?

Joe Biden frequently lectures America on its racism, and he unleashed the bureaucracies of the federal government to root out mythical white supremacist conspiracies. Does penance explain Biden’s fixation on systemic racism? When he condemns anonymous white racists, does his outrage mitigate his son Hunter’s reported use of an anti-Asian slur in a 2019 text message?

The second catalyst of wokeism is the distraction it provides from scary problems that threaten American civilization. While the country consumes itself in demanding more than 12% representation of Black actors in television commercials, it is nearing $30 trillion in national debt. Eventually, the astounding red ink will require recessionary belt-tightening, more inflationary money printing, or both.

The woke Biden administration can’t stop hundreds of thousands of immigrants from illegally entering the United States this year. Almost all are in need of free American health care, housing, food and legal subsidies. Violent crime is spiking at an alarming rate. Yet few dare say why that is — or how to stop it.

America can’t seem to face the likelihood that Chinese researchers engineered a gain-of-function virus — with oversight from the Chinese military and subsidies from the United States.

So instead of offering real solutions to these crises, we war with each other over whether the deceased children’s book author Dr. Seuss or the plastic toy Mr. Potato Head were racist or otherwise exclusionary.

When our elites are clueless about national debt, inflation, illegal immigration, crime, soaring gas prices and a global pandemic, they reassure themselves that at least they can cancel out Father Junipero Serra or knock down another statue of Robert E. Lee.

Finally, the hysterias of wokeism are being channeled for profit — if they do not already reflect the reality of many of our most woke being the richest among us.
One reason why Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle and LeBron James hype charges of white racism is to remind America that one can become rich as Croesus yet remain a sympathetic victim.

For next-generation grifters such as Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo, to claim that America was, is and always will be racist means more than just speaking gigs and book sales. The solution for the pseudo-crises they invent is the mass reeducation of self-confessional whites — with lucrative consulting fees for both, and for thousands of others.

America is systematically being conned by those who disguise their hypocrisy, who manipulate the guilt-ridden, who have no interest in solving America’s most dangerous problems, and who get or stay rich by hyping an America in need of massive rebooting.

Republicans drag 'ridiculous' Mark Milley 'white rage' defense of critical race theory
by Emily Brooks, Political Reporter |
| June 24, 2021 03:28 PM

Republicans who have been challenging the spread of “woke” ideology in the military and elsewhere are not pleased with how Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley hit back on their concerns about critical race theory.

In a House Armed Services Committee on Wednesday, Milley had a forceful response to previous lines of questioning from Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz and Michael Waltz, both from Florida, who had grilled Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on critical race theory in the military.

“On the issue of critical race theory, etc., a lot of us have to get much smarter on whatever the theory is. But I do think it's important, actually, for those of us in uniform to be open-minded and be widely read,” Milley said. “I want to understand white rage, and I'm white.”

“I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military general officers are commissioned [and] noncommissioned officers of being ‘woke,’ or something else because we're studying some theories that are out there,” Milley added. “I've read Karl Marx, I've read Lenin, that doesn't make me a communist.”

Milley’s impassioned response did not sit well with Republicans who are focused on combating critical race theory both culturally and legislatively.

“I’ve heard directly from numerous concerned parents, cadets, soldiers, and veterans about West Point hosting Dr. Carol Anderson — who has called the Republican Party’s platform white nationalism — to lecture about ‘whiteness and white rage’ and teaching CRT. As a combat vet, I can tell you this is divisive to unit cohesion,” Waltz said in a statement to the Washington Examiner.

Waltz had brought up a lecture from Anderson at West Point in the hearing. Austin, contrary to Milley’s reaction that followed, said that “as you have described it, it certainly sounds like that's something that should not occur,” but wanted to know more specifics.

On Fox News on Wednesday night, Waltz said that he thinks Milley is “confusing Critical Race Theory for some type of diversity training or history class on fascism and communism.”

Indiana Rep. Jim Banks, who last week confronted chief of naval operations Adm. Michael Gilday for including Ibram X. Kendi’s How to Be an Antiracist on a “professional reading program” reading list, was also frustrated with Milley’s rant.

“I served in the Navy with Sailors from all backgrounds, and we all shared a belief in the goodness of America and our Constitution. In other words, service members are very diverse and very anti-woke,” Banks said. “The most ridiculous assertion Milley made was that Republicans are attacking rank and file service members for being woke. The opposite is true — we’re defending service members from indoctrination by woke political leaders.”

House Republicans have introduced bills taking aim at critical race theory training. The Stop CRT Act would codify an anti-critical race theory 2020 executive order from then-President Donald Trump that banned federal government agencies, grantees, and contractors from using workplace training that includes certain teachings about race and sexism, and the Combatting Racist Training in the Military Act places similar restrictions on training in the military.

Some lawmakers are also eyeing amendments to add to the National Defense Authorization Act that seek to block “woke” political bias within the Defense Department.

“America’s military serves the vital mission of defending our nation. It is not a grand social experiment. I suggest our military’s leaders take steps to end the embrace of radical leftist politics, especially critical race theory, which is a poisonous, divisive neo-Marxist ideology that has no place in America’s institutions, especially our military,” said Rep. Dan Bishop, a North Carolina Republican and lead sponsor of the Stop CRT Act.

Gaetz later shot back at Milley on Twitter. “With Generals like this it’s no wonder we’ve fought considerably more wars than we’ve won,” he quipped.

That prompted retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling to take a dig at Gaetz, alluding to the fact that the congressman is not a veteran himself.

Also in Wednesday’s hearing, Gaetz had asked Austin about the military’s efforts to root out extremism and the chilling effect that might have on service members, mentioning Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier who was relieved of his Space Force command after denouncing Marxism and critical race theory training.

Austin had said that the Department of Defense does not teach critical race theory, adding that he is “focused on extremist behaviors” and “not ideology.”

“Congress should not be sending money to the military in order to teach critical race theory. Frankly, we need our white men and women who serve in our armed forces to be prepared to defend our nation against all foreign entities that are going to cause us harm, not having to answer for their whiteness,” Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, one of two black Republicans in the House, said on Fox News Wednesday night.

Tucker On Loudoun County Arresting Parent Who Spoke Out To Defend Kids: ‘They’re Gonna Get A Revolution’ If ‘They Keep Acting Like This’

By Daily Wire News

On Wednesday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson spoke with Jon Tigges, a parent who was arrested in Loudoun County on Tuesday night after refusing to leave a school board meeting where he spoke out in defense of children.

During the interview, Carlson recapped the latest events from the Loudoun County School Board meetings, where more and more parents have been getting involved in pushing back on the school district’s far-left proposals.

When asked why he was arrested, Tigges said, “As best I understand it, I was in a place that, where free speech has to happen.”

“If you want to redress your grievances about a school board, there’s no other place you can do it than in a school board meeting,” he said. “And in this case, we went on to public land, went into a public auditorium, we were there for a public forum that we were invited to, and I was signed up to give public comment. And at the end of all that, every single person there, all 500 parents, had their First Amendment rights trampled on by the Loudoun County School Board and its superintendent.”

“If they keep acting like this, they’re gonna get a revolution,” Carlson responded. “I mean, this is what happens when you ignore legitimate complaints, is people get radical. And I hope it doesn’t happen. But, you can see how it could. So in this case, these are the people who pay for Loudoun County Schools.”

TRANSCRIPT:

TUCKER CARLSON, FOX NEWS HOST: Public schools in Loudoun County, Virginia, like so many schools in this country have gone insane in the last year, they’ve essentially stopped teaching. Instead, they’re indoctrinating children with creepy and poisonous racial theories, master race stuff. It’s Scary. In Loudoun County, kids are not allowed to read “To Kill A Mockingbird” anymore. Instead, they’re assigned pornographic novels and told that America is an evil, racist place. So parents in Loudoun County have been revolting against this — not just right-wingers, by the way, not just politically active people, people with kids in the schools. Why would you want your kids taught some bizarro poisonous racial theory? It’s disgusting. So last night, the school board met in Loudoun County and agreed to solicit public comments. It didn’t take that many, but those they heard weren’t very positive.

[BEGIN VIDEO]
AUDIENCE: Resign! Resign cowards! … The western culture and values that brought forth Christianity and the founding documents are being called evil and racist. … You’re not the captain, we’re your bosses, and God willing, we will return most of you to the private sector very soon. … I’m reminded [of the] tyranny of communist China, where your money is legally stolen and then used in government schools, not public schools — these are not public schools, these are government schools — like here, to indoctrinate children, against their parents. … My child is not oppressed, and don’t assume that. As long as you Marxists push your unconstitutional agenda on my child, she will not be returning back to Loudoun County schools.
[END VIDEO]

CARLSON: So the school board didn’t want to hear it. There as out of touch as most of our institutions, they just didn’t want to hear it. So they had the meeting declared an unlawful assembly. One parent called Jon Tigges, a man from the community, was arrested. Watch this.

[START VIDEO]
JON TIGGES: You guys are actually supporting the suppression of people’s rights.

POLICE OFFICER: Are you refusing to leave at this time?

TIGGES: Yes, I’m refusing to leave.

POLICE OFFICER: Alright, deputies, please arrest this individual for trespassing.
[END VIDEO]

CARLSON: So they handcuffed him and dragged him away. Didn’t want to hear from him apparently. Jon Tigges joins us now to explain what happened. Jon, thanks so much for coming on. It feels like this is, and Loudon County is the place, and this is the moment where people have just finally just had it with these scary racial theories. Tell us what happened to you. Why did they arrest you?

TIGGES: That’s a good question, Tucker. Because as best I understand it, I was in a place that, where free speech has to happen. If you want to redress your grievances about a school board, there’s no other place you can do it than in a school board meeting. And in this case, we went on to public land, went into a public auditorium, we were there for a public forum that we were invited to, and I was signed up to give public comment. And at the end of all that, every single person there, all 500 parents, had their First Amendment rights trampled on by the Loudoun County School Board and its superintendent.

CARLSON: If they keep acting like this, they’re gonna get a revolution. I mean, this is what happens when you ignore legitimate complaints, is people get radical. And I hope it doesn’t happen. But, you can see how it could. So in this case, these are the people who pay for Loudoun County Schools. The building was reserved and open until 7pm. They arrested you before 7 as I understand.

TIGGES: Yeah, actually, it was closer to about 5:45. And we were supposed to go until 7, until the school board heard something they didn’t like. And which was ironically applause for one of the people that we were supporting, Senator Dick Black. And the net result was they shut it down. But there was not violence. There wasn’t crazy going on. People stayed there, they actually started singing, and then we just encouraged folks that if the school board didn’t want to hear it, we were going to hear from one another. And we allowed a very orderly, peaceful process of allowing people to actually start speaking, and they did that, they lined up and peacefully started presenting their perspectives, and we allowed the other side to do the same. And then suddenly, it was declared an unlawful assembly after the thing that you’re showing right now occurred which, as best I can tell, was a complete leftist diversionary tactic that was pre-planned, because no one that was lined up to speak was involved in any of that. So the net result was they declared an unlawful assembly, and then they moved a whole series of prepositioned deputies and tried to push them out of the room, threatening them all with arrest.

CARLSON: So they didn’t like what you had to say, so they declared your talking illegal, and then they got these stooge cops, who should be ashamed of themselves, to arrest you for the crime of saying something the school board didn’t like? Am I missing anything?

TIGGES: That’s correct. No, you’re not missing anything. And, and that’s what’s so infuriating is there’s such a high standard for free speech. You know, it is the most sacred of all of our rights. And it takes an amazing amount of justification to shut down free speech.

CARLSON: Yeah, it does. And it’s, you know, not liking it is not adequate justification. I hope you keep getting arrested, Jon. I mean that because I think only until people are willing to be arrested for exercising their constitutional rights will those rights be protected. And I appreciate what you did in coming on tonight. Thank you.

It’s Outright War on Conservatives
By Janet Levy

Last November, the now-defunct Trump Accountability Project, linked to former Democratic National Committee press secretary Hari Sevugan, bruited its plan to blacklist those who worked for the Trump administration. Sevugan tweeted, “Employers considering them should know that there are consequences for hiring anyone who helped Trump attack American values. Find out how at the Trump Accountability Project.” Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Dem-NY) too called for devising lists of Trump supporters for punishment and ostracism. The rhetoric reeked of a witch-hunt to name and shame anyone linked to the former president.

Now that the Biden administration is securely ensconced in the White House, the blatant malice has been toned down with disingenuous calls for unity. But there’s persistent targeting of “unwoke” conservatives -- in fact, of anyone not aligned with the hate America script of social justice warriors. In this, the Biden administration has been active. There are several recent instances that highlight a hypocritical progressive agenda to enforce groupthink and extinguish critical and independent thinking.

In May, the IRS denied 501(c)(3) status to Christians Engaged, a Texas-based prayer group that encourages members to pray for the country and its elected officials, motivates citizens to vote for cultural impact, and campaigns for preserving our constitutional republic. The group endeavors to integrate civic involvement as part of religious practice but does not promote any party or candidate. However, in his official letter denying tax exemption, Stephen A. Martin, the IRS’s director of exempt organizations, clearly implies that biblical values are exclusively Republican. He wrote: “While you educate voters on what the Bible says about issues, your educational activities are not neutral. The topics typically are affiliated with distinct candidates and specific political party [Republican] platforms.”

The First Liberty Institute, a Christian legal organization, is appealing the IRS decision as discriminatory. It argues that there is no requirement that organizations must be neutral on public policy issues, and that just because there is some overlap between the views of Christians Engaged and the Republican party, the IRS cannot conclude that the organization serves private interests. The IRS decision amounts to a violation of the free speech, free exercise, and free establishment clauses of the First Amendment. Declaring biblical teachings as exclusively Republican is the slippery slope that could lead to future discrimination against Christian organizations and even churches.

Remarkably, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB)-affiliated Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) enjoy tax exemption even though they have been shown to be financing terrorism. In the 2008 Holy Land Foundation case, the largest terror-funding trial in American history, the government had produced ample evidence that CAIR, INSA, and other MB groups were associated with the designated terror group Hamas. One MB document presented in court said the work of the Ikhwan in the U.S. is “a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and G-d’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

In another attack on conservative principles, Colorado baker Jack Phillips was fined $500 under the state’s anti-discrimination law for refusing to make a “gender transitioning” cake for a transgender activist. Colorado had earlier barred Phillips, a devout Christian, from designing custom wedding cakes after he declined to make one for a same-sex wedding. But he’d won a Supreme Court victory in 2018, explaining that he was unwilling to violate his beliefs and was exercising his First Amendment right to religious freedom.

230431_5_.png

Despite that ruling, Colorado officials have targeted him again. Phillips has filed a lawsuit citing his right to practice his faith as well as his right to equal protection under the 14th Amendment. Kristen Waggoner, general counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, a Christian non-profit that’s representing Phillips, stated: “Radical activists and government officials are targeting artists like Jack because they won’t promote messages on marriage and sexuality that violate their core convictions.”

Meanwhile, kindergarteners at the Ashlawn Elementary School, Arlington County, Virginia, were subjected to transgender messaging on Read Across America Day. A cross-dressing male LGBTQ+ activist read to them from a factually false transgender picture book without parental knowledge or consent. The activist is a spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), which champions same-sex marriage, the expansion of LGBTQ+ rights, HIV/AIDS advocacy, and legislation on anti-discrimination and hate crimes. In attendance as a sponsor was the president of the National Education Association, a leftist union of 2.3 million public school teachers and college students preparing to become teachers. The union campaigns for abortion, socialized medicine, prisoner rights, and other causes dear to the Left.

Two additional examples of how conservatives are forced to endure viewpoint discrimination and correction (or indoctrination) hail from the national security sector and the military.

This month, the Biden administration announced the National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism to target those who espouse “racial or ethnic bigotry and hatred” or “anti-government ideology or anti-authority sentiment.”

While purporting to promote public safety, it aims to push Critical Race Theory, the Muslim-as-victim narrative, and other radical Leftist views. Rather than address the physical threat of terrorism, it targets ideological opponents of the Biden administration and encourages views “befitting a democracy” -- as if only certain opinions confer acceptance. It principally targets white supremacists and violent extremists but fails to mention the anti-law enforcement, anti-American ideologies of Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and Islamic terrorists (except for a perfunctory mention of Al Qaeda). For all intents and purposes, opposition to government policies is the new “terrorism” -- not ISIS, not Al Qaeda, not Black Lives Matter, not Antifa.

In the military, there’s an agenda to root out ideas and people who oppose the Biden administration’s “fundamental transformation of America.” With the avowed purpose of eliminating extremism in the ranks, training material from the Pentagon mischaracterizes American laws and disparages citizens who believe in constitutional principles. It identifies no instances of racism or discrimination that would prompt such a program. But officers are instructed with talking points on “anti-government extremists” as proven by “recent events.” The allusion is clearly to Trump supporters or those who are against Biden’s progressive agenda.

Contrary to the spirit of the First Amendment, the material states that service members must “reject” ideas and speech that threaten “to undermine our government” or face disciplinary action, including discharge. It explicitly lays out permissible and prohibited political activities and social media practices as part of a radical agenda to undermine constitutional freedoms and indoctrinate our troops.

During the “Summer of Love,” far-left mayors and city councils had dismissed the concerns of citizens over the rioting, arson, senseless murder, assaults on police, and the chaos in the lawless autonomous zones created by BLM and Antifa. Later though, even Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan walked back her comments and confessed that the mayhem was not a viable vision for her city. One would have thought that a reasonable response following such anarchy would be for political leadership to reassess their policies, respond to the public outcry, and temper its rhetoric against conservative constitutionalists. Sadly, that hasn’t happened, and the “fundamental transformation of America” is advancing apace.

When crises are manufactured to target ideological foes and real threats are ignored, safety, security, and civil rights are sacrificed. In all its dogmatism and intolerance, the progressive agenda of enforced cultural conformism is gaining ground. The pushback that has already begun must become fierce.

The Morning Briefing: We Can't Let the Psycho Marxist Democrats Win the Critical Race Theory Fight

Top O’ the Briefing

Happy Thursday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. Find someone who looks at you the way I look at a plate of assorted cheeses.

I would like to begin today by thanking all those who responded so positively to my VIP plug yesterday. We have a lot of new people joining the fight and joining the fun because of it. We’re also thinking of getting matching shirts, a jacuzzi, and a pet tortoise.

The fire hose of awful that has been blasting us ever since Papa Plugs was allowed to bring his Legos to the Oval Office is getting worse by the hour. The Kafkaesque governing philosophy of J.R. Biden’s puppet masters seeks to maximize American misery and greatly hasten the demise of the Republic as we know it.

I’ve taken to referring to their plan as “Soviet 2.0.”

The noise surrounding Critical Race Theory (CRT) has been getting a lot louder lately. Democrats keep paying obeisance to Karl Marx by trying to shove it down the throats of American school children. Parents who would prefer that their kids take a path that involves less communism are pushing back. It’s an ugly dance that can only end in people breaking beer bottles over each other’s heads out in the parking lot.

I’m one of those freaks who thinks that parents should have some say in what their children learn and how they grow up. That puts me at odds with almost every public school union teacher in the United States.

I wrote this in a post about CRT back in April:

Public school teachers have made it plain that they’re not interested in teaching kids. If they have to be in a classroom with them they want to be indoctrinating them. That’s really what public education in America has been about for decades. When I wrote “the Death of Public Education” in the headline I didn’t mean that public schools were going away, I meant that education as we once knew it is going to disappear.
Megan had a post yesterday that featured a video of a teacher who was having a mini meltdown about the fact that she’s in Texas and no longer able to force CRT on her students:

Then she goes off the deep end and claims the children of Texas as her own to indoctrinate how she sees fit and encourages teachers to join her to continue brainwashing “our kids” as she calls them. Lady, these are not your kids. They belong to their families and those families have a right not to have their kids force-fed racist ideology from political hacks posing as teachers. Stick to reading, writing, and arithmetic, Karen, and everyone will get along just fine.
The woman talks about teachers being “activists.” Most parents who send their kids to public schools think that the teachers want to be educators.

Oops.

There have been any number of stories in recent weeks about parents having had enough of this commie arrogance. Tyler wrote about the latest to hit the news:

Loudoun County, Va., has become ground zero in the debates over Marxist critical race theory (CRT) and transgender orthodoxy in education.

Parents have spoken out against the unjust attempted suspension of PE teacher Tanner Cross and the threat of CRT masquerading as “sensitivity training.” After a meeting of the Loudoun County School Board devolved into a shouting match on Tuesday night, police arrested two men, reportedly parents. The board chair then castigated parents for engaging in “dog-whistle politics.”

“Tonight, the Loudoun County School Board meeting was interrupted by those who wish to use the public comment period to disrupt our work and disrespect each other,” school board Chair Brenda Sheridan said on Tuesday as the meeting ended, Fox News reported.

“Dog-whistle politics will not delay our work. We will not back down from fighting for the rights of our students and continuing our focus on equity,” Sheridan declared.
There’s the plan: have the parents who get in the way of Marxist indoctrination hauled of to jail so the agenda can continue unimpeded.

CRT is so insidious that the Dems have begun screaming “RAAAAACISM!” even louder to distract from what they’re up to. Their media monkeys are playing along by constantly referring to CRT as “anti-racism” education.

Spoiler alert: it’s totally racist.

It’s not a stretch to say that this battle is ground zero in the fight for the soul of the United States. CRT has completely infected the commie teachers’ unions. Our woke military upper ranks are drunk on it. My conclusion from the April post is worth repeating:
Critical race theory is a key component in the leftists’ effort to turn the United States into a Third-World communist cesspool. The people behind it won’t suffer, they’ll be the ruling class that gets all the goodies, which is found in every commie society. They know that.
The idiots following them don’t.
CRT proponents in education are becoming more openly hostile to parents who oppose them. They feel protected by the fact that the President of the United States is married to a union teacher. It’s all coming together for them.

And unraveling for the rest of us.

This can’t happen.

The "Conspiracy Theory" Charade

FRIDAY, JUN 25, 2021 - 12:05 AM
Authored by James Bovard via JimBovard.com,

How government and media use the phrase to suppress opposition...

Biden’s “National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism” report last week declared that “enhancing faith in American democracy” requires “finding ways to counter the influence and impact of dangerous conspiracy theories.” In recent decades, conspiracy theories have multiplied almost as fast as government lies and cover-ups. While many allegations have been ludicrously far-fetched, the political establishment and media routinely attach the “conspiracy theory” label to any challenge to their dominance.

According to Cass Sunstein, Harvard Law professor and Obama’s regulatory czar, a conspiracy theory is “an effort to explain some event or practice by reference to the machinations of powerful people, who have also managed to conceal their role.” Reasonable citizens are supposed to presume that government creates trillions of pages of new secrets each year for their own good, not to hide anything from the public.

In the early 1960s, conspiracy theories were practically a non-issue because 75 percent of Americans trusted the federal government.
Such credulity did not survive the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Seven days after Kennedy was shot on November 22, 1963, President Lyndon Johnson created a commission (later known as the Warren Commission) to suppress controversy about the killing. Johnson and FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover browbeat the commission members into speedily issuing a report rubberstamping the “crazed lone gunman” version of the assassination. House Minority Leader Gerald Ford, a member of the commission, revised the final staff report to change the location of where the bullet entered Kennedy’s body, thereby salvaging Hoover’s so-called “magic bullet” theory. After the Warren Commission findings were ridiculed as a whitewash, Johnson ordered the FBI to conduct wiretaps on the report’s critics. To protect the official story, the commission sealed key records for 75 years. Truth would out only after all the people involved in any coverup had gotten their pensions and died.

The controversy surrounding the Warren Commission spurred the CIA to formally attack the notion of conspiracy theories. In a 1967 alert to its overseas stations and bases, the CIA declared that the fact that almost half of Americans did not believe Oswald acted alone “is a matter of concern to the U.S. government, including our organization” and endangers “the whole reputation of the American government.” The memo instructed recipients to “employ propaganda assets” and exploit “friendly elite contacts (especially politicians and editors), pointing out… parts of the conspiracy talk appear to be deliberately generated by Communist propagandists.” The ultimate proof of the government’s innocence: “Conspiracy on the large scale often suggested would be impossible to conceal in the United States.”

However, the CIA did conceal a wide range of assassinations and foreign coups it conducted until congressional investigations in the mid-1970s blew the whistle.

The New York Times, which exposed the CIA memo in 1977, noted that the CIA “mustered its propaganda machinery to support an issue of far more concern to Americans, and to the C.I.A. itself, than to citizens of other countries.” According to historian Lance deHaven-Smith, author of Conspiracy Theory in America, “The CIA’s campaign to popularize the term ‘conspiracy theory’ and make conspiracy belief a target of ridicule and hostility must be credited…with being one of the most successful propaganda initiatives of all time.” (In 2014, the CIA released a heavily-redacted report admitting that it had been “complicit” in a JFK “cover-up” by withholding “incendiary” information from the Warren Commission.)

The Johnson administration also sought to portray critics of its Vietnam War policies as conspiracy nuts, at least when they were not portraying them as communist stooges. During 1968 Senate hearings on the Gulf of Tonkin incident, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara denounced the “monstrous insinuations” that the U.S. had sought to provoke a North Vietnamese attack and declared that it is “inconceivable that anyone even remotely familiar with our society and system of government could suspect the existence of a conspiracy” to take the nation to war on false pretenses. Three years later, the disclosure of the Pentagon Papers demolished the credibility of McNamara and other top Johnson administration officials who indeed dragged America into the Vietnam War on false pretenses.

Condemnations of conspiracy theories became a hallmark of the Clinton administration. In 1995, President Bill Clinton claimed that people who believed government threatened their constitutional right were deranged ingrates: “If you say that Government is in a conspiracy to take your freedom away, you are just plain wrong…. How dare you call yourselves patriots and heroes!” The same year, the White House compiled a fevered 331-page report entitled “Communication Stream of Conspiracy Commerce,” attacking magazines, think tanks, and others that had criticized President Clinton. In the following years, many of the organizations condemned in the White House report were targeted for IRS audits, including the Heritage Foundation and the American Spectator magazine and almost a dozen individual high-profile Clinton accusers, including Paula Jones and Gennifer Flowers. Despite Clinton’s protestations that he posed no threat to freedom, even the ACLU admitted in 1998 that the Clinton administration had “engaged in surreptitious surveillance, such as wiretapping, on a far greater scale than ever before… The Administration is using scare tactics to acquire vast new powers to spy on all Americans.”

Some “conspiracy theory” allegations comically expose the naivete of official scorekeepers. In April 2016, Chapman University surveyed Americans and announced that “the most prevalent conspiracy theory in the United States is that the government is concealing information about the 9/11 attacks with slightly over half of Americans holding that belief.” That survey did not ask whether people believed the World Trade Centers were blown up by an inside job or whether President George W. Bush secretly masterminded the attacks.

Instead, folks were simply asked whether “government is concealing information” about the attacks. Only a village idiot, college professor, or editorial writer would presume the government had come clean. Three months after the Chapman University survey was conducted, the Obama administration finally released 28 pages of a 2003 congressional report that revealed that Saudi government officials had directly financed some of the 9/11 hijackers in America.

That disclosure shattered the storyline carefully constructed by the Bush administration, the 9/11 Commission, and legions of media accomplices. (Lawsuits continue in federal court seeking to force the U.S. government to disclose more information regarding the Saudi government role in the attacks.)

“Conspiracy theory” is often a flag of convenience for the media. In 2018, the New York Times asserted that Trump’s use of the term “Deep State” and similar rhetoric “fanned fears that he is eroding public trust in institutions, undermining the idea of objective truth and sowing widespread suspicions about the government and news media.” However, after allegations by anonymous government officials spurred Trump’s first impeachment in 2019, New York Times columnist James Stewart cheered, “There is a Deep State, there is a bureaucracy in our country who has pledged to respect the Constitution, respect the rule of law… They work for the American people.” New York Times editorial writer Michelle Cottle proclaimed, “The deep state is alive and well” and hailed it as “a collection of patriotic public servants.” Almost immediately after its existence was no longer denied, the Deep State became the incarnation of virtue in Washington.

The media elite can fabricate “conspiracy theory” designations almost with the flip of a headline. A week after Election Day 2020, the New York Times ran a banner headline across the top of the front page: “Election Officials Nationwide Find No Fraud.” How did the Times know? Their reporters effectively called each state and asked, “Did y’all see any fraud?” Election officials answered “no,” thus proving that anyone who subsequently questioned Biden’s victory was promoting a groundless conspiracy. While top liberal politicians denounced electronic voting companies as unaccountable and dishonest in 2019, any doubts about such companies became “conspiracies” after that headline in the Times.

The Times helped spur a media cacophony drowning out anyone complaining about ballot harvesting, illegal mass mailing of absentee ballots, or widespread failures to verify voter identification.

Actually, “conspiracy theory” accusations helped Biden win the 2020 presidential election. As Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) recently noted, if Americans believed that the COVID-19 virus was created in a Chinese government lab, Trump would have likely won the election because voters would have sought a leader who could be tough on China. But the lab origin explanation was quickly labeled a pro-Trump heresy. The Washington Post denounced Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR,) for suggesting the virus originated in the lab, which supposedly was a “conspiracy theory that was already debunked.”

Twenty-seven prominent scientists signed a letter in the Lancet: “We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin… Conspiracy theories do nothing but create fear, rumours, and prejudice that jeopardise our global collaboration in the fight against this virus.” The Lancet did not reveal until last week that one of the signers and the person who organized the letter signing campaign ran an organization that received U.S. government subsidies for its work at the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab. President Biden has ordered U.S. intelligence agencies to take another look to seek to determine the origin of COVID-19.

Will “conspiracy theory” charges provide a “get out of jail free” card for the FBI and other federal agencies regarding the January 6 clash at the Capitol?

After Fox News’s Tucker Carlson featured allegations that FBI informants or agents may have instigated the ruckus, the Washington Post speedily denounced his “wild, baseless theory” while Huffington Post denounced his “laughable conspiracy theory.” It doesn’t matter how often the FBI instigated terrorist plots or political violence in the past 60 years (including the plot to kidnap the Michigan’s Governor Gretchen Whitmer last November). Instead, decent people must do nothing to endanger the official narrative of Jan. 6 as a horrific private terrorist event on par with the War of 1812, Pearl Harbor, and the 9/11 attacks.

“Conspiracy theory” is a magic phrase that expunges all previous federal abuses. Many liberals who invoke the phrase also ritually quote a 1965 book by former communist Richard Hofstadter, The Paranoid Style in American Politics. Hofstadter portrayed distrust of government as a proxy for mental illness, a paradigm that makes the character of critics more important than the conduct of government agencies. For Hofstadter, it was a self-evident truth that government was trustworthy because American politics had “a kind of professional code… embodying the practical wisdom of generations of politicians.”

Much of the establishment rage at “conspiracy theories” has been driven by the notion that rulers are entitled intellectual passive obedience. The same lese-majeste mindset has been widely adopted to make a muddle of American history. Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., the court historian for President John F. Kennedy and a revered liberal intellectual, declared in a 2004 article in Playboy, “Historians today conclude that the colonists were driven to revolt in 1776 because of a false conviction that they faced a British conspiracy to destroy their freedom.” Was the British imposition of martial law, confiscation of firearms, military blockades, suspension of habeas corpus, and censorship simply a deranged fantasy of Thomas Jefferson? The notion that the British would never conspire to destroy freedom would play poorly in Dublin. Why would anyone trust academics who were blind to British threats in the 1770s to accurately judge contemporary perils to liberty?

How does the Biden administration intend to fight “conspiracy theories”? The Biden terrorism report called for “enhancing faith in government” by “accelerating work to contend with an information environment that challenges healthy democratic discourse.” Will Biden’s team rely on the “solution” suggested by Cass Sunstein: “cognitive infiltration of extremist groups” by government agents and informants to “undermine” them from within? A 1976 Senate report on the FBI COINTELPRO program demanded assurances that a federal agency would never again “be permitted to conduct a secret war against those citizens it considers threats to the established order.” Actually, the FBI and other agencies have continued secretly warring against “threats” and legions of informants are likely busy “cognitively infiltrating” at this moment.

“Conspiracy theory” will remain a favorite sneer of the political-media elite. There is no substitute for Americans developing better B.S radars for government claims as well as wild-eyed private balderdash. In the meantime, there’s always the remedy a Washington Post health article touted late last year:
“Try guided imagery. Visualizing positive outcomes can help clamp down on the intense emotions that might make you more vulnerable to harmful conspiracy theories.”

Force-fed 'woke' agenda in military sparks social media dissent among rank and file

The Pentagon culture war heated up on Capitol Hill, when lawmakers grilled the nation's two top military leaders about imposing critical race theory on the force.

By Susan Katz Keating
Updated: June 24, 2021 - 11:42pm

As conflict over Pentagon wokeness intensifies between uniformed and civilian adversaries, dissenters within the military have taken to social media aiming to win hearts and minds for the anti-woke faction.

"We're worried about teaching racism and creating racists within the military rather than making lethal soldiers," wrote one soldier on social media. "Way to go Woke."

"Bruh, they really pushing this shi- from the top brass now," wrote another.
The main war heated up Wednesday on Capitol Hill, when lawmakers grilled the nation's two top military leaders about critical race theory, and whether it is being pushed on the force in the guise of "anti-extremism."

Florida Republican Rep. Michael Waltz, a former Green Beret, addressed Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, and asked why critical race theory is part of the curriculum at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

"This type of teaching, that is rooted in Marxism, that classifies people along class lines, an entire race of people as oppressor and oppressed," Waltz said. "I cannot think of anything more divisive and more destructive to unit morale."

Both Austin and Milley pushed back against Waltz and other members of Congress who questioned "woke" policies overall.

"We don't embrace critical race theory," Austin said. "And I think that's a spurious conversation. We are focused on extremist behaviors and not ideology, not people's thoughts, not people's political orientation. Behaviors is what we are focused on."

Milley defended the teaching of critical race theory.

"I've read Mao Zedong," Milley said. "I've read Karl Marx. I've read Lenin. That doesn't make me a communist. So, what is wrong with understanding, having some situational understanding about the country for which we are here to defend?"

Added Milley: "I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military, our general officers, our commissioned and noncommissioned officers of being, quote, 'woke' or something else because we're studying some theories that was out there."

Supporters praised Austin and Milley for holding the line against the challenges, and for speaking up on behalf of critical reading. A phalanx of service members, though, viewed the testimony as disingenuous — and took to social media to roast the two leaders, casting them as willing political pawns.

Particular ire was directed at four star Gen. Milley, whose uniform shows a military career marked by combat, attending Ranger School, and serving in a storied airborne infantry unit.

One post on the Instagram page for TerminalCWO, a page that posts about situations mostly within the Army, took Milley to task for his testimony.

"Don't listen to this trash," the webmaster posted. "Don't buy into the lies and the push to pull us apart."

One meme circulating among the force depicts Milley with a patch declaring "I 'heart' CRT," and sporting pink hair and a Black Lives Matter badge while saying, "I don't know why everyone keeps saying the Army is 'woke.' I'm offended."

The mockery is part of a soldier tradition wherein ordinary "Joes" gleefully stick it to the brass.

"Joe Snuffy" for years has chronicled the misadventures of the Mississippi National Guard's 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team. Despite efforts from commanders to unmask Joe Snuffy, he has remained covert since 2018, calling out officials for allegations of toxic leadership, or for sending soldiers into 109-degree heat for long hours without food or water.

"Army WTF Moments!" for more than a decade has skewered both commanders and ordinary soldiers for perceived screw-ups.

"Security Forces Abridged" blasted the Pentagon for keenly allotting money for transgender surgeries while holding off on chiropractic treatment for soldiers injured in training.

The escalating public — albeit pseudonymous — dissent is aimed partially at prompting military leaders to change, but also at spurring the force to speak up, and at pushing civilians to insist on change, one underground webmaster told Just the News.

"You guys are in charge," the webmaster said. "You might not know it, but when it comes to the military, you really do run the show."

SEC's planned new 'woke' rules creating cost concerns for business leaders

Top investor says 'ESG reporting is so vague, there’s really no way to quantify it'

By Eleanor Terrett , Charles Gasparino FOXBusiness

Gensler eyeing to pass new woke disclosure rules as early as year's end: Sources

Sources tell FOX Business' Charlie Gasparino that Gensler tells CEOs he plans to pass new requirements along party lines, Dems outnumber GOP 3-2.

Business groups are trying to calculate just how much money public companies might have to shell out to comply with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s planned new "woke" corporate disclosure rules, and initial estimates aren’t pretty.

FOX Business has discussed the costs with Wall Street executives, analysts and think tank leaders, and while no exact estimate can be determined, the SEC’s new disclosure mandates involving everything from the environment to board diversity is likely to cost U.S. public companies well into the billions of dollars.

Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler, known for his progressive leanings, has put at the top of the commission’s voting agenda new rules that will mandate disclosing information on so-called ESG or Environmental, Social, Governance issues. These issues involve a public company's commitment to alleviate climate change and other non-financial disclosures.

SEC PICKS AS CORPORATE REGULATOR A PROFESSOR WHO CRITICIZED STARTUP ‘UNICORNS’

Gensler met with President Biden and other top financial regulators on Monday to discuss climate-related financial risks and how regulators can push the president’s green and social agenda through edicts aimed at public companies.

Gensler has said such disclosures are being demanded by a new breed of investor looking to make corporate America more socially responsible.

But critics such as business groups, and GOP lawmakers say the move by the SEC is part of a broader effort by the Biden administration to force companies to embrace a progressive social agenda. They also contend the commission is exceeding its authority that has traditionally focused on protecting small investors from financial fraud.

Former energy secretary Dan Brouillette reacts to 'backdoor' deal to enforce climate agenda on 'Kudlow.'

Gensler is forging ahead, however, and given the political makeup of the commission with Democrats outnumbering GOP commissioners by a 3-to-2 majority, he is likely to push through his new disclosure mandates possibly by the end of the year, say people with knowledge of the chairman’s thinking.

According to the proposed new disclosure standards, companies must "ramp up disclosures regarding their climate change-related risks," and "enhance (company) disclosures about the diversity of board members and nominees."

While there is a contentious debate about the need for such disclosures, one thing is certain: Companies will be spending significant sums of money on both lawyers and consultants on how best to disclose a corporation’s carbon footprint and the new diversity mandates.

For example, the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, estimates that the new corporate disclosure rules will cost "billions of dollars", and possibly leading to lower shareholder returns. The group also warns of massive legal liabilities as progressive activists challenge the veracity of the corporate disclosures since the SEC rule, at least in its current proposed form, is amorphous and thus leaves room for various interpretations.

"It’s not a one size fits all approach", says Chris Whalen, chairman of Whalen Global Advisors. "ESG reporting is so vague, there’s really no way to quantify it."

An SEC spokesman declined to comment, but the woke disclosure rules have their support in certain areas of the financial business that has focused on ESG investing. Blackrock, the world’s largest money manager, is offering a slew of new ESG funds that screen for companies that meet ESG standards but also charge investors higher fees than other funds offered by the company.

Blackrock’s CEO, Larry Fink, has been an advocate of social investing and using Blackrock’s clout (it manages nearly $9 trillion) to push for these reforms at the companies it invests in. The firm recently voted to place on the board of oil giant ExxonMobil three activist shareholders from the ESG-centric fund, Engine No 1.

"I think spending billions (on these disclosures) is exaggerated," said Columbia law professor John Coffee, an expert in corporate governance matters. "And as Engine No. 1 proved with Exxon, shareholders appear willing to vote for such goals."

Some Wall Street analysts say the size of the costs for these disclosures could easily run into the billions of dollars as they spend money on consultants to prepare for the additional disclosure, plus in the case of banks, they may also be barred from doing business with companies that are deemed fully committed to the woke policies.

"Mandated disclosures could impact (banks) bottom line because they might be forced not to lend to companies and businesses that don't meet the ESG standards," said Dick Bove, an analyst at Odeon Capital.

Also, the costs will fall disproportionately on smaller public companies that don’t have the same cash on hand and the staff to deal with the new legal issues.

"This whole ESG thing is just one giant waste of time and money," added Whalen Global Advisors chief, Chris Whalen, "It’s just a big show that only benefits the consultants and the lawyers who are making money off of this."

GOP Congressman Mike Waltz on ‘White Rage’ Lecture at West Point: ‘This Isn’t Some Kind of History Class’
WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 16: U.S. Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) speaks during a press conference on Capitol Hill with members of The American Legion on June 16, 2021 in Washington, DC. Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are working with groups like The American Legion to push for the Biden Administration to …

National Guard Lt. Col. and Green Beret Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) — who prompted Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley’s defense of critical race theory during a hearing this week — pushed back against the idea that learning critical race theory is akin to learning about “history” and that opposing it makes one racist.

Waltz had queried Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin during the hearing on why there was a lecture at West Point on “Understanding Whiteness and White Rage.” While Austin acknowledged that should not have happened, Milley was invited to respond to Waltz by a Democrat congresswoman, saying he thought it was important to study critical race theory to understand “white rage,” tying it to the January 6 Capitol riot.

Waltz told CNN’s Brianna Keilar:
Where I disagree with General Milley who commented later was, this isn’t some kind of history class. I have no problem with understanding our very checkered past with race and the atrocities that happened in the past. This was a seminar telling cadets how they should think and behave now. That dividing the United States along class lines and along racial lines of the oppressed and the oppressors is OK.
Waltz was referring to a lecture hosted on February 11, 2021, at West Point by Dr. Carol Anderson, who wrote the book, White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of Our Racial Divide. Anderson told Vox in a January 27, 2021 interview that “white rage is a response to African Americans’ political advancement.”

She told Vox, “White rage is the operational function of white supremacy. It is the fear of a multicultural democracy. It is predicated on a sense that only whites are legitimate Americans.”

Waltz added to CNN that he “fully” supported diversity in the military and that extremism should be rooted from the ranks, but added, “That’s not what this was about.”

Waltz has previously raised the issue of critical race theory being taught to cadets at West Point, prompted by parents and cadets’ concerns. He sent a letter to the West Point superintendent earlier this year and received confirmation of it being taught as part of a seminar. Waltz also received confirmation of a panel where a white colonel talked about her “white privilege” as well as that Anderson delivered the lecture on “white rage.”
The underlying issue with critical race theory, frankly, for me, is that it teaches that our constitution, our civilian institutions, our courts, our political system, were established by oppressors to maintain that oppressive regime. And classifying anything along racial lines of all-white people is, in itself, racist. And I have real issue [with that].

It’s one thing for a kid in California to believe this. But these are our future military leaders, Brianna, that need to be subordinate to this civilian oversight. Critical race theory is teaching them that they need to resist that. That they need to push back on that. And I have real issue with the future generals of this country to have their finger on the button being taught that at a very early age, and they do, as well.

And that’s why this is such a problem.
“Of course, we want the advancement of all Americans, including those of color.

But that’s not what’s being taught at West Point. Again, not a history class, today. And I don’t think white rage is a result of the advancement of black people. And I certainly don’t think it should be taught to our future military leaders who should be colorblind, mission focused, and merit-based. That should be the focus of the United States military and the United States military academy,” he said.

Greenwald: What is Behind Gen. Mark Milley's Righteous Race Sermon? Look To The New Domestic War On Terror

FRIDAY, JUN 25, 2021 - 05:00 PM
Authored by Glenn Greenwald via greenwald.substack.com,

For two hundred forty years, American generals have not exactly been defined by adamant public advocacy for left-wing cultural dogma. Yet there appeared to be a great awakening at the Pentagon on Wednesday when Gen. Mark Milley, the highest-ranking military officer in the U.S. as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, testified at a House hearing. The Chairman vehemently defended the teaching of critical race theory at West Point and, referencing the January 6 Capitol riot, said, “it is important that we train and we understand ... and I want to understand white rage. And I'm white."

U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley testifies during a hearing before the House Committee on Armed Services at Rayburn House Office Building June 23, 2021 on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

In response to conservative criticisms that top military officials should not be weighing in on inflammatory and polarizing cultural debates, liberals were ecstatic to have found such an empathetic, racially aware, and humanitarian general sitting atop the U.S. imperial war machine. Overnight, Gen. Milley became a new hero for U.S. liberalism, a noble military leader which — like former FBI Director Robert Mueller before him — no patriotic, decent American would question let alone mock. Some prominent liberal commentators warned that conservatives are now anti-military and even seek to defund the Pentagon.

View: https://youtu.be/VTIiBzkOcrc
1:53 min

It is, of course, possible that the top brass of the U.S. military has suddenly become supremely enlightened on questions of racial strife and racial identity in the U.S., and thus genuinely embraced theories that, until very recently, were the exclusive province of left-wing scholars at elite academic institutions. Given that all U.S. wars in the post-World War II era have been directed at predominantly non-white countries, which — like all wars — required a sustained demonization campaign of those enemy populations, having top Pentagon officials become leading anti-racism warriors would be quite a remarkable transformation indeed. But stranger things have happened, I suppose.

But perhaps there is another explanation other than righteous, earnest transformation as to why the top U.S. General has suddenly expressed such keen interest in studying and exploring "white rage”. Note that Gen. Milley's justification for the military's sudden immersion in the study of modern race theories is the January 6 Capitol riot — which, in the lexicon of the U.S. security state and American liberalism, is called The Insurrection. When explaining why it is so vital to study "white rage,” Gen. Milley argued:
What is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the Constitution of the United States of America? What caused that? I want to find that out. I want to maintain an open mind here, and I do want to analyze it.
The post-WW2 military posture of the U.S. has been endless war. To enable that, there must always be an existential threat, a new and fresh enemy that can scare a large enough portion of the population with sufficient intensity to make them accept, even plead for, greater military spending, surveillance powers, and continuation of permanent war footing. Starring in that war-justifying role of villain have been the Communists, Al Qaeda, ISIS, Russia, and an assortment of other fleeting foreign threats.

According to the Pentagon, the U.S. intelligence community, and President Joe Biden, none of those is the greatest national security threat to the United States any longer. Instead, they all say explicitly and in unison, the gravest menace to American national security is now domestic in nature. Specifically, it is "domestic extremists” in general — and far-right white supremacist groups in particular — that now pose the greatest threat to the safety of the homeland and to the people who reside in it.

In other words, to justify the current domestic War on Terror that has already provoked billions more in military spending and intensified domestic surveillance, the Pentagon must ratify the narrative that those they are fighting, those against whom they are fighting to defend the homeland, are white supremacist domestic terrorists. That will not work if white supremacists are small in number or weak and isolated in their organizing capabilities. To serve the war machine's agenda, they must pose a grave, pervasive and systemic threat.

Viewed through that lens, it makes perfect sense that Gen. Milley is spouting the theories and viewpoints that underlie this war framework and which depicts white supremacy and "white rage” as a foundational threat to the American homeland. A new domestic War on Terror against white supremacists and right-wing extremists is far more justifiable if, as Gen. Milley strongly suggested, it was "white rage” that fueled an armed insurrection that, in the words of President Biden, is the greatest assault on American democracy since the Civil War.

New York Times, May 12, 2021
Within that domestic War on Terror framework, Gen. Milley, by pontificating on race, is not providing cultural commentary but military dogma. Just as it was central to the job of a top Cold War general to embrace theories depicting Communism as a grave threat, and an equally central part of the job of a top general during the first War on Terror to do the same for Muslim extremists, embracing theories of systemic racism and the perils posed to domestic order by “white rage” is absolutely necessary to justify the U.S. Government's current posture about what war it is fighting and why that war is so imperative.

None of this means that Gen. Milley's defense of critical race theory and woke ideology is purely cynical and disingenuous. The U.S. military is a racially diverse institution and — just as is true for the CIA and FBI — endorsing modern-day theories of racial and gender diversity can be important for workplace cohesion and inspiring confidence in leadership. And many people in various sectors of American life have undergone radical changes in their speech if not their belief system over the last year — that is, after all, the purpose of the sustained nationwide protest movement that erupted in the wake of the killing of George Floyd — due either to conviction, fear of loss of position, or both. One cannot reflexively discount the possibility that Gen. Milley is among those whose views have changed as the cultural climate shifted around him.

But it is preposterously naive and deceitful to divorce Gen. Milley's steadfast advocacy of racial theories from the current war strategy of the U.S. military that he leads. The Pentagon's prime targets, by their own statements, are sectors of the U.S. population that they regard as major threats to the national security of the United States. Embracing theories that depict “white rage” and white supremacy as the source of domestic instability and violence is not just consistent with but necessary for the advancement of that mission. Put another way, the doctrine of the U.S. intelligence and military community is based on race and ideology, and it should therefore be unsurprising that the worldview promoted by top generals is racialist in nature as well.

Whatever else is true, it is creepy and tyrannical to try to place military leaders and their pronouncements about war off-limits from critique, dissent and mockery. No healthy democracy allows military officials to be venerated to the point of residing above critique. That is especially true when their public decrees are central to the dangerous attempt to turn the war posture of the U.S. military inward to its own citizens.

America's Social Order Is Unraveling

FRIDAY, JUN 25, 2021 - 04:20 PM
Authored by Charles Hugh Smith via OfTwoMinds blog,

The unraveling of America's social order is accelerating, and denial will not save us from the consequences of the plundering of the social contract.

What kind of nation boasts a record-high stock market and an unraveling social order? Answer: a failed nation, a nation that has substituted artifice for realism for far too long, a nation that now depends on illusory phantoms of capital, prosperity and democracy to prop up a crumbling facade of "wealth" that the populace now understands is largely in the hands of a few families and corporations, most of which pay little to support the citizenry they dominate politically and financially.

The social order sounds abstract, but it is all too real. The social order has two primary components: social cohesion, the glue of common purpose and shared sacrifice binding the social order, and the social contract, the implicit contract between the ruling elite, the state (government) and commoners (the middle class, the working poor and state dependents) that their labor, taxes and sacrifices will nourish a society with a level playing field, broad-based opportunity and security.

America's social cohesion has been lost, ground under the heel of soaring inequality, a two-tiered economic/political order, systemic unfairness and the elite's divide-and-conquer manipulation of the political and cultural orders.

Historian Peter Turchin characterized this social unraveling as disintegrative: people no longer find reasons to cooperate and share sacrifices to work towards a common national purpose. Rather, they find a multitude of reasons to offload sacrifices onto others, hoard their own wealth and seek to expand their power by accelerating the disintegrative forces.

There is no debate about the collapse of America's social contract, there are only varying levels of self-serving denial. Commoners have awakened to the emptiness of the conventional promise to get a college degree, work hard and you'll be rewarded with security and prosperity. Huge swaths of America are a ransacked, decaying shell of a society reminiscent of developing nations suffering under the jackboot of kleptocrats.

America's fast-expanding class of billionaires are doing their best to mimic the clueless French nobility just before France's convulsive revolution in 1789: America's billionaires bleat that they should pay more taxes while their lobbying bulldozes gigantic loopholes in the tax code, enabling Apple and other global giants to escape U.S. taxes.

America's billionaires are busy building $500 million private yachts and private spaceships while proclaiming their globally distributed sweatshops are raising all boats in a tide of money conjured out of thin air by the billionaires' central bankers.

America's ruling elite has rewritten the social contract to benefit itself at the expense of the bottom 99.9%. Studies have confirmed that the bottom 99.9% hold virtually no political power, and the bottom 90% collect a pitiful 3% of all income generated by capital and hold an inconsequentially thin slice of the nation's wealth.

Trends in Income From 1975 to 2018

$50 trillion in earnings has been transferred to the Financial Aristocracy from the bottom 90% of American households over the past 45 years.

Monopoly Versus Democracy: How to End a Gilded Age

Ten percent of Americans now control 97 percent of all capital income in the country. Nearly half of the new income generated since the global financial crisis of 2008 has gone to the wealthiest one percent of U.S. citizens. The richest three Americans collectively have more wealth than the poorest 160 million Americans.

As I pointed out in Is a Cultural Revolution Brewing in America? (4/9/21), actions have consequences and cultural revolutions result from the suppression of legitimate political expression and the failure of the regime to meet its lofty idealistic goals.

When there is no relief valve in a collapsing social order, the explosive pressure is eventually released in a Cultural Revolution that unleashes all the bottled-up frustrations on elites. These frustrations have no outlet politically because they're threatening to the status quo and therefore suppressed at every turn.

Put another way, if the pendulum is pushed to an extreme of exploitation, suppression and inequality, when it's released, it will reach an equivalent extreme (minus a bit of friction) at the opposite end. That could be an unexpected but entirely foreseeable Cultural Revolution.

Those who claim that can't happen in America are safely outside the pressure cooker, protected by a delusional confidence that since I'm doing great, everyone is doing great. Since real political agency is no longer allowed, the pressure will find release outside the political system. The lobbyists will still be haunting the hallways of governance, but no one will care, for The falcon will no longer hear the falconer.

The unraveling of America's social order is accelerating, and denial will not save us from the consequences of the plundering of the social contract.
