If Kiev thinks they're taking back Crimea with the help of the "international community", the Russian Foreign Ministry just plainly said, Nyet.

And my guess is they mean it.

Most Ukraine problems can be resolved by cleaning out the trap, and God only knows how many of those they have. We need to call on lower butt crack diplomacy from Plumberstien to mediate this problem before it escalates into a Drano type operation, and we really don't want to get into chemical warfare over there. We have tried before to Root out the problem, but Roto operations from above have thwarted that remedy. Sounds like they are in deep sh*t....

imagine if ukraine concentrates all of that sweet modern equipment in a single area just to have the rebels or russians use artillery on it and wipe it out during the first day of the conflict

If the Ukraine concentrates it's forces to the east, it leaves open the door to the north. Russian forces could sweep thru Belarus and move south into the Ukraine.

Summary
  • In Donetsk region, the Mission recorded 29 ceasefire violations. In the previous reporting period, it recorded 113 ceasefire violations in the region.
  • In Luhansk region, the SMM recorded 34 ceasefire violations. In the previous reporting period, it recorded no ceasefire violations in the region.
  • Small-arms fire was assessed as directed at an SMM mini-unmanned aerial vehicle near Vesela Hora, Luhansk region.
  • The Mission continued monitoring the disengagement areas near Stanytsia Luhanska,
    Zolote and Petrivske.
  • The Mission facilitated and monitored adherence to localized ceasefires to enable maintenance and operation of critical civilian infrastructure.
  • The SMM continued following up on the situation of civilians, including at four entry-exit checkpoints and four corresponding checkpoints of the armed formations in Luhansk region.
  • The SMM’s freedom of movement continued to be restricted, including at a checkpoint of the armed formations on the north-western edge of Donetsk city

In connection with the increased activity of NATO in the Black Sea area, the Russian Navy is mobilizing an amphibious group of ships of the Baltic Fleet as part of the large landing ships Kaliningrad (102), Minsk (127), Korolev (130) and the Boykiy corvette (532).

The Russian Mediterranean fleet I think will act as a blocking force to prevent the US and NATO from sending ships to the Black Sea if conflict breaks out.

This not looking good at all, the last thing i want to get into, is a war with USSR. Particularly with no leadership within the U.S., back to the 50's and 60's duck, cover and kiss your ass goodbye..

Yes, many are remarking that it has the feel of the cuban missile crisis, and even more are in agreement that this is the wrong time and worst possible leadership under which to meet this crisis.

:: shrug n sigh :: Keep on keepin' on is all we can do for now. This is not a surprise, so roll out yer game face n work yer preplan plans.. and remember always: these messy middle chapters are just the blessings that get us to the end of the book.

Well, to be fair, I started calling it that before this thread/event ever got added to the mix... and we will see how much is fired off by this fuse. So often we are convinced there are too many assets in play to avoid a conflagaration, only to find it fizzle.

This time will not be one of those times, I do not think. Still, hope is free, so I spend part of my pre-plan activation time in prayer. As they say prepare for the worst, pray for the best.
