I never said it did. China produces pretty much all of our antibiotics. Cut us off long-term, and we are back to the 1800s in medicine. China is not sending us any antibiotics at the moment. When we run out, we run out.
Hope you bought some backup antibiotics for your fish.
Big Pharma was my career field. I have warned close family and friends who would listen that most meds, whether it's otc or prescription, comes from China and India.

*If* I understood the link correctly, the equivalent new cases under the old way of counting them would have been 1,508 new cases.

Snip below (they just started including clinically diagnosed cases)

>>>From 02:00 to 24:00 on February 12, 2020, Hubei Province newly added 14,840 new cases of pneumonia (including 13332 clinically diagnosed cases) <<<

Wait, so I’m confused. If they’re starting a “new way” of counting confirmed cases that’s roughly 14-15 times higher than the previous daily numbers, then does that mean we need to go back and recalculate all the previous days by this formula??

GULP.

Carp!!

I can't believe that Florida has no cases yet, considering how much travel there is from the affected areas...

I'm wondering if TPTB in this state have decided that protecting the Tourism industry is more important than being transparent with the citizens...

The thinning of the herd will start with those that have been to China and spread to the homeless, elderly, young and general population....

Do you have sufficient supplies to quarantine at home for a month or longer????

Texican....

"Or longer": indeed!

I think that 6 weeks is an optimistic minimum.

Do you have a link? I Googled but can't find anything.

bluelady, I regret that I didn' hold on ta that article. Seems tha' somebody in KC woulda kept it... Burned itself inta ma brain, it did. Have heard so much over th' years, o' th' young an' virile goin' ta work, an' dead afore dinner... Made a lastin' impression on ma gran' parents... Think th' "remains" was re-interred, elsewhere, but samples sent ta USAMRID, Ft. Detrick, an' maybe even th' CDC in Atlanta... Highway still went through, "progress..." Dad's dad was a pharmacist, with 'is own pharmacy in Joplin, MO, an' he remembered all about it. Hoped it'd never happen again...

This is America. Crematoriums are for profit businesses. They are not part of the socialist health insurance plans.
therefore, there are just enough crematoriums to fill current demand "Just In Time".
Any additional demand driven by pandemic will fall to local governments to resolve - invest in mobile cremation before the rush.
I had my husband cremated as I will be also. We both agreed that is what we wanted. It took several days after he died before they did it. All paperwork for death cert. has to be done, etc. Of course they place the body in a morgue so it is cooled. I would think that China would have the same thing, but probably just too over whelmed.

Uh Oh.....
Confirmed. That ain't good at all. So much for under control.

Wi' all due respect... Who confirmed th' new numbers? Th' chinese? It could be lots worse 'n what they say... If'n it's far worse, then th' "high" might seem like roses, rather than raw sewage, which it most likely is... In other words, ah don't trust 'em. Not a bit...

This is Dr Steven Hatfill two weeks ago...
Virologist: Overseas Production of Vaccines Makes U.S. Vulnerable

Whole article is worth reading, but here's one snippet, regarding WHO;

Hatfill does not put his faith in large bureaucratic organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO).

“The WHO are useless,” he told Breitbart News in a telephone interview. “These are the same people who gave us the 2014 Ebola pandemic. Absolutely useless. The bureaucrats are subject to the wishes of their subscribers – China puts pressure on them.”

“And they admit it. They admitted the other day that, yes, they delayed too long,” he said. “I don’t listen to anything they say.”

As Breitbart News reported Wednesday, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus blamed “human error” for the U.N. agency’s initial decision to minimize the global threat of the deadly coronavirus.

Panic Early, Beat the Rush!

I think that Dr. Hatfill is a National Treasure.

Maybe he should receive SS protection.

Straight shooter!

Global Just in Time is going to fail.
Seems the lefties need to change their mantra to : "no borders, no wall, no you or me at all" Hope Trump brings all of our manufacturing business back pdq. Just think of all the new jobs for the 50 million suvivors remaining here next year.

Remember Kansas City? Not ta long ago, folks was movin' a cemetery, eminent domain donchaknow, an' a casket fell open. Testin' what was inside, Spanish Flu- still active, an' ready ta go... Buryin' ain't a good idea... 'specially if'n it's gonna get loose, sooner 'er later... History WILL repeat itself...

Gee, there was an expedition to the Arctic some decades ago to disinter Eskimo corpses in permafrost to find the Spanish Flu virus. Silly people, they could have found it in Kansas City.

In 1958, the Corps of Engineers was moving cemeteries before flooding from a dam. One cemetery had the record of small pox burials. They took no chances. I was told the crew was in rubber uniforms with some sort of respirator.

At the end of the day, they took a shower of disinfectant with the uniform still on. After taking off the uniforms, they took another shower.

The bodies were placed in sealed rubber bags as far as I remember.

A second patient with a confirmed case of coronavirus, or COVID-19, is being treated at UC San Diego hospital, a CDC spokesperson said Wednesday. It's the second confirmed case in the county since the deadly outbreak began.
Both patients are being treated at UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest. The CDC said it would be releasing more details about the second case Wednesday afternoon.
The first case was confirmed by the CDC on Monday. Both patients were woman among the 232 Americans evacuated from Wuhan, China, last week and flown to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar to complete a 14-day federal quarantine.

Mentioned at work cause have family member in China and heard from coworker
‘ I heard the regular flu is more of a danger this year for us’

The sheeple have no freakin clue and if the situation moves into a not just China issue for regular folks they will panic as a mass horde.

You are aware that people are dying of the ordinary run-of-the-mill flue? (Metaphor there) Like dying today. And quite likely have totaled up in five figures including a bunch of kids so a lot of people out there know somebody who died. Maybe he can't get his mind around something that might happen next week compared to something that is happening today.

It is still nonsense.

First, you don't change the definition of dead. That is a relatively simple diagnosis. Daily rate is up over 100% since yesterday. Either the vast majority of people today were infected approximately 13 days ago or they will need to come up with a reason.

Yes, you need to go back and recalculate it.

RCL reverses its Coronavirus policy

ROYAL Caribbean Cruises (RCL) has reversed its ban on
Chinese passport holders, originally imposed amid
coronavirus fears.
Last week’s initial ruling from the company stipulated no
Chinese, Hong Kong or Macao passport holder would be allowed aboard the company’s ships,
across its Azamara, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean International brands, but the ban has now
been lifted after accusations of discrimination from passengers.
The embargo is now just 15 days, and applies to those who
have travelled from, to or through China, Hong Kong or Macao.
The cruise line said it initially made the decision due to “governments around the world restricting travel for Chinese passport holders...now that these governmental restrictions have been clarified, we are able to
clarify our own policies”.
MEANWHILE, RCL has cancelled two more cruises due to the coronavirus outbreak, and cleared one other for departure.
Quantum of the Seas’ 15 and 24 Feb departures from
Singapore will now no longer take place, the cruise line has informed guests, who will be provided full refunds.
However, Anthem of the Seas has departed New Jersey, with
none of a group of 27 passengers who were tested for coronavirus returning positive.

I was sitting here thinking why would they change all this today, then I remembered that the WHO and other teams arrived there I believe today. It could have an impact now that outsiders are there monitoring the situation.

I don’t know that’s a factor but it is a possibility.

Yes I are aware, not to minimize the normal but China has historic ‘normal’ official flu deaths in the low hundreds and we have thousands, almost lost my mother to a virus showing as pneumonia 3 plus weeks ago.

If this expands into the US we get both the normal stuff plus wu flu that seems to have severe impact on lung function.
My point is not to worry about people who aren’t thinking (and no they didn’t have relative) about but just example on the large number of people that this is not even a thought. If there us a breakout into US then like HK the sheeple will collectively start thinking all at the same time with everybody wanting the same things all at the same time.
