I love all these songs. Thanks for the thread.
I'd Love to Change the World
Ten Years After
Everywhere is freaks and hairies
Dykes and fairies, tell me, where is sanity?
Tax the rich, feed the poor
'Til there are no rich no more
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you
Population keeps on breeding
Nation bleeding, still more feeding, economy
Life is funny, skies are sunny
Bees make honey, who needs money? No, not poor me
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you
Oh, yeah
World pollution, there's no solution
Institution, electrocution
Just black and white, rich or poor
Them and us, stop the war
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you

Actually, I think he is singing about the ridiculous counterculture of the era...Pro communist song...hate it!
Weird! LoLNever heard this one before, and wow!
Yeah. Singin' songs and carryin' signs mostly sayin' hooray for our side.I fell asleep last night hearing this song in my head.
He keeps his lyrics vague about taking a side, but he sets things up in the first two lines:Actually, I think he is singing about the ridiculous counterculture of the era...
I actually think why I really like this song is do-wop beat, its so catchy. I've also been a fan of Motown go figure I'm from the 60's.
OMG! Really? One of the most haunting songs of the era.Never heard this one before, and wow!
Neil is like Alvin Lee (Ten Years After), on this song. "Soldiers are cutting us down, shoulda been done long ago". That is NOT what he believes, the exact opposite. Context, context, context.Ohio - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Here’s a version performed by Neil Young alone. I found this one very powerful.
