There was a French study that happened way before COVID, I forgot when, but the jist of it was flu type viruses get displaced in cases like the COVID outbreak. Everyone washing hands, not hand shaking and keeping contact to a minimum. I'm sure a lot of untested cases of upper respiratory infections were actually some type of flu. You are correct in my opinion about December 2019 I'm not so sure the so called vaping pneumonia wasn't COVID or a precursor.
Its interesting you mention Marburg. I’m seeing a lot of talk about these new pandemic measures. A lot of discussion about maybe this winter is when they activate the nano particles we now know are in the vaxxed, causing them to actually die in the streets, to reinvigorate “the scare”, while blaming it on something like Marburg/hemorrhagic fever.
I’m seeing discussions on an increase in power of the 5G systems, upping everyone’s doses of microwave radiation which is one of the things the nan particles react ("excite") to. There is actually a concerning amount of research papers published on the effects of microwave radiation on nano particles. If that’s the activation method, it will allow them to turn on and off the “pandemic” at will, wherever they want, whenever they want, at whatever intensity they want, just by increasing/decreasing the power output of selected 5G towers.
Think of the images of people keeling over in supermarkets, on public transportation, and on the streets, possibly bleeding out of orifices, except unlike the "videos" out of China last time it will actually be happening this time. J6P and his wife Karen will be hysterical. And malleable. Just as intended. Plus it’s election season, so we’ll naturally need to do Mail in voting, for your safety of course.

COVID-19 is not the flu, but if they pay hospitals and doctors for COVID cases, it is straightforward to diagnose the flu as "probable COVID-19." Just like the guy decapitated in a motorcycle accident, he had COVID-19 in his autopsy, which was listed as the cause of death. I suspect the money is also why so few flu cases were reported, as there was no money in that.
I also think naming this variant was intentional and that it isn't just the US that feels it would be a good time for some extra and heavy-handed population control. I suspect it was "decided" at some closed forum or The Grove. This would be a plan B to lock things down again if the jerks that think they run the world felt it was needed. Now I wouldn't doubt the fast food industry closing their dinning rooms for drive through only because they are tanking as it is right now except for Chick-fil-A.

I never took any flu shots nor any of the covid ones either and always suffered from the flu every year.....sometimes 2, 3 times in a few month through my 40s 50s and early 60s.
Then about 3 years ago......I took to seriously washing my hands after being out in public (work, grocery store or gym) before I prepared and ate my meals and bingo........haven't had a touch of flu since.

But COVID -no matter how many family or relations, or relations of relations died- is not that. You don’t shut the world down for Flu or COVID.
If we got anything useful out this insanity, it’s the above. It definitely reinforced what we were taught over many years from Mr. Rogers to the United States Army. Kinda like going to the dentist after 10 years and they can’t believe how healthy your teeth are. So they ask what you’ve been doing, and your only reply is what you folks told me to do when I was a little boy...

Just wondering - kids here started back to school I think on 10 August, and a lot of colleges had their move-ins last week, I think it was. Likely all the 'back to school' shopping didn't help, either. I have to wonder if we're seeing another ramp up of respiratory 'issues' with all the fresh germs circulating around.

There are tens of millions of Americans that would be happy to isolate, wear masks, do the 6-foot thing, and become the finger-waggers again. For millions of people that felt disempowered, left-out, left-behind, not-picked, weren't the prettiest, weren't the coolest, never-fit-in, etc. The covid protocols gave them a sense of power and influence they would have never known otherwise.

I don't think that'll be a thing. My dad takes a blood pressure pill that's also a "water pill", which helps with his gout. But I don't have gout, and last I knew, that's the kind of thing you can pretty readily tell.
