Harvest Yellow Zucchini doesn't keep!

I bought yellow zucchini seed and maybe a couple plants this year. They don't keep! I kept a few in the frig and a couple on the counter for a few days and they are spoiling. Good ole green zuccs are sitting in the frig and counter and doing just fine! (I think they are related to Twinkies. :D) The yellow ones are nicely prolific, good size and shape, but I want something that keeps better until I decide to eat them or gather enough making it worthwhile to make squash pickles, freeze or to dehydrate.

Good info! As an experiment I save three of my prettiest spaghetti squash harvested last fall 2021. They’ve sat on a corner of the kitchen counter ever since. Organic, no pesticides, I grew from seed…etc etc. they are all just beautiful goin on 10 months later. I plan to cook up the big one this week. I think I’m going to grow a bunch more next year, Lord willing!
