I experienced this before when my son thought he was a dog.
His close friends used to always say, hey, what's up dog and that really got him thinking.
Anyways, he's OK now. He does bark though every time a neighbor walks by the house.
Working on that.

What’s the green dream?
When my brother and I were little, we went to the hospital to get our tonsils out. Just before heading to the OR, a nurse came by to give us some “green magic.” I think it was an oral sedative, but can’t really remember. All I know is that it put us to sleep.

So this woman takes her husband to the doctor because he thinks he is a dog.
The doctor tells the woman to take him home that it can't hurt him and he will "get over it" with time.
She calls the doctor 2 days late and tell the doctor that her husband is dead.
The doctor asked what happened.
The woman tell the doctor that her husband was sitting in the road licking his balls and a car hit him.

Crackpot loon of a mother turning her kid into a mentally ill freak.
Mother needs close supervision and psychotherapy.
Kid needs a normal environment that will kick him in the ass and tell him to go mow the lawn.
She doesn't seem to grasp that if a vet "treats" her kid, he would lose his license to practice vet med.

When my grandson was one week old he was adopted by my lead dog Sweet Pea. She cuddled him and wouldn't let any of the other dogs near him. When he was 3 weeks old she carried him from his car seat to her dog house we freaked out until we found him sleeping her dog house and Sweet Pea was snuggled around him. He never thought he was a dog even though his only friends were sled dogs until he was 5 and started school.

They'll need to use a LARGER RECTAL THERMOMETER to check his temp at the vet. 
See how he likes that! Oh, and take all this clothes, cats don't wear clothes and kick him outside to go to the bathroom. For that matter kick him outside first thing in the morning and don't let him back in until after dark.. Also don't forget to feed him that stinky canned cat food and bone dry kibble. And you know for longevity issues they'll have to have him FIXED!! Oh, and water only to drink, soda and other such drinks aren't good for cats.

Thank you for setting it straight! I looked her up and yes, she is Kass Theaz who does satire at isatandstared on TikTok. Which I don't watch, but I guess I am now because she's pretty funny.

The sad part here is. That if mom didn’t recognize the son’s desires, could she be charged with a crime like not recognizing his prefered sex? Do you have to take your trans son to an obgyn? If he wants birth control pills, is the dr obligated to give it to them?

My guess is that the mom is as mentally ill as the child, probably more so. And may have directly contributed to the child's instability.
Whatever the family dynamics here, it's far from normal...
I'd have gotten a boot in the ass (just like the cats did meowing at the door lol) and told to get out there and finish getting that hay in, fence fixed...
