ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WTVO) — A woman killed a convicted sex offender by stabbing him to death during an attempted rape at a laundromat on Sunday, according to police.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a Lacombe-area laundromat in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 190 around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday and found Nicholas Tranchant, 40, mortally wounded at the scene.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities said the investigation revealed that Trenchant, who is a convicted sex offender, entered the laundromat with a sharp weapon and attempted to assault the woman. She fought back, gaining possession of the weapon and stabbing him before running away, police said.

Police said the woman received injuries during the attempted assault and is being treated at a local hospital.
Authorities said Trenchant was convicted for Indecent Behavior with Juveniles in July 2003, and convicted again in May 2008 for Attempted Aggravated Rape and Aggravated Burglary.

“I want to compliment this brave woman on the courage and strength she showed in fighting back against her attacker and ask for prayers for her continued recovery,” Sheriff Randy Smith said.

:applaud: She didn’t look for it, it came to her and she stopped it. Well Done.
Trouble is, this may be looked upon officially as the perp had "needs" - which she didn't address properly.

Like she could have "counseled" him. Or she could have ran removing her "temptation." Or she could have pushed a coat-hanger into his eye. Or stabbed him in the arm. Or simply relaxed and let him have his way?

Yunno - when rape is inevitable - relax and enjoy it?

Joe Biden's Department of Justice and the FBI is reviewing the case I'm sure. 5 to 10 for Involuntary Manslaughter at a minimum. I mean the hubris - protecting one's self?

And sarcasm is still alive and well.

I hope she'll be okay and I'm proud of her for taking care of business.

I am curious about the knife though. Did she have it with her for self-defense? Did he have it and she took it from him?

I would love to know!
I think the piece says she took it from him and did the needed deed.

At least that's the story I would of wrote up if I was the first law enforcer at the scene. No matter what.

I just love happy endings. Too bad she had to go through that horrible experience, but she did rid the world of a real piece of shit. Good on ya, Gal! Well Done!

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
She should get a parade, or at least be the grand marshal July 4.

Believe me, that poor woman does not want atta girl, or pats on the back. She is horribly traumatized by what happened to her, and what she had to do.
None of us do, and I really hope, with the way this country is headed, we will not have to make the same kind of decision. If we do, none of us will ever be the same…… :kaid:
Many on this forum have already been down that road less traveled….
