Before anyone says you can't possibly not know you're pregnant (because I used to believe that), I know for certain that it is possible to not know. It happened to my daughter. She was married and it was her third child. She finally missed a period and had decided she might be pregnant when she went into labor. She called saying she was miscarrying. By the time we got to the hospital, she had delivered a full-term baby boy to everyone's surprise. However, even after birth he moved very, very little so we understood how she didn't feel movement. My daughter is very slender too, so it wasn't that he was hidden under fat. She just didn't show.

Since the couple was mentally challenged, it is very possible that she never knew. Very sad for that baby boy. But where were the people in their lives that were charged with watching them if they didnt have the mental capacity?

Ok, I have to agree with the question about where were their caretakers? If they don't understand enough to lift the babies out of the toilet then they should not be without caretakers.
