Omaha news showed snow already in south Omaha. were up to 2 to 4 inches predicted, Blizzard warning is because of high winds not because of amount of snow,

I imagine I-35 will get shut down at some point. I'm glad I'm not traveling tonight. Best wishes to the truckers!

Do these things really come out during Iowa blizzards? Why not use snow plows like other states?

Blowing like crazy here and snow coming at 90º angle. Not really heavy snow but whiteout conditions. Wouldn't want to be out driving in this mess. I commuted 25 years in all kinds of crappy weather so a big plus in being retired and able to ignore what's happening outside. Today is trash pickup day but I'll not be putting my trash out. Another good point for Iowa weather its too cold for the trash to get stinky.

Very heavy wet snow, lights flickered on and off about 10:30 pm but power still on.

Was a mild January up till now, so can't complain. And quite frankly, I love winter storms hampering protest action.

Hopefully it puts a damper on Mpls, Madison and Milwaukee acting up this wknd. It can snow till Monday.

Just about 4 am -- the high winds woke me up. There's about 6" of snow on the ground -- lots of blowing and drifting.

The wind just got here. Well under an inch expected but still going to be ugly for this area. Near 40 and sunny tomorrow though.

Yeah, it's still gusting. I'm going to put my white noise machine on and try to go back to sleep. I think we've got 7" of snow. I can't see across the street. So glad I picked up some fresh veggies! I don't have to go out, except to shovel.

I can see mabye 100 yards, because of blowing snow, but there is almost no snow om the ground, I can still see the grass in the yard, but very windy ...west of Omaha

Yes, temps aren't bad: it's in the upper 20s. I'm going to drink another cup of coffee and then go get started on the driveway.

Temps aren't bad and its sunny here. Wind has dropped a lot and its not snowing. As to the amount we got its hard to tell. Drifts are 4½ foot deep but I can see grass where its not drifted. I shoveled HEAVY WET SNOW off the front stoup and sidewalk so I could get out of the house. I usually go out through the garage but the drift there is easily 4½ foot and I didn't want to shovel that! Bet the kids are having a ball playing outside as this snow is perfect for snowballs and snowmen. Guy that clears my drive usually shovels the sidewalk but sometimes doesn't when its deeply drifted. I'll wait until he clears the drive and see if he does the walk before I shovel that. Its drifted 3' to 4½' deep.
