Now for the few looking at these and wanting one but not sure what you're looking at!

The one at the top is a backpacker stove known as the "weekender" and works off of disposable butane canisters and its shown nested down inside its own pot and the other part is also a small pot the acts as a cover for the set and the green things on them are fold out handles.

There is also another stove shown that I would highly recommend for the cabin or for home back up (power outage with electric stove) or for car camping get aways, thats the Optimus Hiker and it's a very flexible stove when it comes to fuel options and very stable platform to work with.
The Optimus Hiker is easy to use but requires pre-heating and once you get over that little fact you start to love this stove, also before use for the first time flush the tank out first and you should be for the most part trouble free.

There is one shown with detachable tank and Unless you're an avid backpacker I would not recommend this one as I've seen to many get into trouble with this design.

There is the other stove with the green canister is the same that comes with the Weekender but sold alone without the pots.

I've read a lot of good things about the Optimus Nova+. As good or better than an MSR.

It is a multi-fuel stove that will burn darn near anything and is rugged and user serviceable.

Same here the reviews are great, but some people just like with the MSR's get into trouble with introducing dirt into the system because of the detachable hose and a few had somehow burnt the hose, hearing about two that kept playing with it and unscrewing the whole pump from the tank while in operation, not good.

Most do not have any problems with this stove and have nothing but piles of praise for it.

Safecastle, I really like the look of those Optimus stoves, particularly the Nova +, and one would fill a gap in my stove inventory (though with my copper still I can knock out alcohol well enough to fuel something that would fit too, but more options = good, not bad). While my Kelly Kettle is my main and heavily used option, I do like flexibility, and I did stumble across a brilliant value well made folder that runs on gas. Now I don't know if you would be able to add them to your range (or even be interested in doing that), but it is the sort of little stove that would add to your range and not take sales away from Optimus (heck could even help generate sales of Optimus, imho, because having experience with mine caused me to really prick up my ears with interest with the Nova +, and it is now on my list for a future purchase).

Now I have no links with Vango, other than being a very satisfied customer (their products are Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme approved, and have to be good quality to get through the Award Scheme usage reliably, plus approved by the Scout Association), for example when stuck for weeks in atrocious weather in Hungary, their Zetes 300 tent never let a drop in, and the retail price I paid for this stove was only around $35 for insight. Believe it or not, inferior equivalents can cost over $150:

http://www.vango.co.uk/gb/outdoor-essentials/495-folding-gas-stove.html

Now that red plastic storage box will fit into a jacket pocket easily. When folded out, it is very stable to use, even with relatively large pans on it. In addition, I have a nicely made cheap stainless steel stand adapter, that also fits inside the box, and that allows me to use the common and cheap 220g butane bayonet gas cartridges. It's the bit that connects to the gas cartridge like this one here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Outdoor-S...400?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5afda38f88

At the local market, I can get the 220g butane cartridges for about $1.50 each. If going away on the motorbike in the Spring, Summer, and Autumn, if the weather is mild, the butane works fine (one cartridge lasts me about 5 days of fairly normal use, so I get two weekend trips out of one cartridge). If it's cold, I just pick up an (expensive) cannister of propane/butane mix, and use the stove without the adapter.

So such a stove might be highly complementary to your range?

I have tried a few of the cheap Chinese knockoff stoves (well when friends are broke - as well as me *laughs* - the hunt is always on for ways to save money and have solid reliability as well), and to get anything worthwhile, usually costs at least as much as the Vango, if not much more. Vango is a very good name over here, and they have been around for a very long time now.

Hope that helps, and best of luck.

The Optimus Hiker+ comes from a long line of stoves. This will last more than one lifetime. You can pass it on to your children and grandchildren. It is all steel and brass.

Vango are excellent, I used to use a Vango Force 10 tent exclusively, I remember being out in one storm, we had to park a land rover either side of the marquee (cook tent) and throw a tow rope over it and tie it down between the two Landies,
We were using Vango's as sleeping tents, after the storm the Vango's were fine, the marquee not so much,
