going shooting tomorrow to work off some of the rust of my shooting skills. Been awhile and I am not comfortable with that. What's on your plate?
Dh is painting the barn today, we picked up a mid sized paint sprayer at a garage sale. Not the best of them but its working, well we should get about half of it done. We got the deck painted Thursday. We have windows to trim in yet we took out the 2 big picture windows, one in the dining room and one in the living room and put in windows that can be opened to help let air into the house So nice. Wow great buy on that shed.
I've been rebuilding my preps from scratch since the hurrricane. Right when I think I'm soooooo close to feeling somewhat comfortable a new twist comes along. This time is a wonderful suprise. I will have my first grandbaby in November. It's a boy. Of course I knew about diapers, pins, diaper covers, cornstarch and all that but................I forgot about food and formula for a baby that will not be breastfed. I breastfed all of mine so this is all new to me. I did a little research to find out what they eat, when they eat it and how much the baby would require. I even found some excellent menu plans for infants and toddlers. I WENT BABY FOOD SHOPPING. LOL While at Wal Mart a woman who appeared to be the dept. manager was telling a stocker to be sure and put all of the older stock to the front and as soon as the shelf is empty then change the shelf tags and stock the new jars of baby food. He asked why and she said because the new pricing is almost double of the existing price. Armed with this information I quickly checked all of the expiration dates and wiped out the existing shelves so that my grandson will have plenty of food and cereals until he is old enough to eat table food. Yes, I have a garden and orchard but in the event that I lose them to another cane, drought, disease or floods I'll still have a back-up resource to feed the baby.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon for a few hours, we (me, husband, Mom & Dad) helped my brother put up stud walls for his new shop. He is going into business for himself. For about 20 yrs. he has been a finished cabinet maker. He is now going into a business that unfortunately will likely have business no matter what the economy does. He is going to start building affordable caskets. I plan to help him market them. Already interest has been generated in our town. People are fed up with the high costs associated with a funeral. People can't afford to die. So.....something he is good at building that will economically help a lot of people. And....it was hot and we are tired!
