Man oh man did they ever come out wonderful! I also made a pineapple upside down cake for yesterday and just thought, well if I'm messing with pineapple, maybe I'll just stick some into the lil smokies. Threw into the crockpot two pkgs lil smokies, one can crushed pineapple, and about 3/4 or 2/3 stick of butter.(probably needed one/two more pkg of lil smokies) and let it crockpot all morning.
Whoa! They disappeared in minutes, and everyone wanted to know what was in it.
I told my hubby that I could make a meal out of rocks. (Stone salad , maybe)
Dogwood: I can't wait for my newer currant bushes to get a couple years older before I can start getting enough for Currant Jelly. I had one bush before this place and the last time I harvested it (15 yr old plant by then)just B4 i moved from that place, I got 40 pint jars of jelly. It IS the best jelly. I also am going to put in a couple or so more, there is room for them and they are not unattractive. Of course, there will also be raspberries, elderberries and a strawberry mound going in this year also. The asparagus should start some small production this spring. My hubby thought I was nuts when I got 35 plants last year. but then he decided he actually LIKED asparagus.
Thank you all for your help!
