I guess this is an effort to take our "vital signs" to see what has us double-checking our preps, and worried about what we might have missed.

I have probably forgotten, or filtered out, some that might be a priority, so will put a none of the above at the bottom, but those clicking that button ought to post what they picked up that my radar overlooked.

When and if, TSHTF, what my Low IQ, neighbor's will do to effect my plans.

As in snipe me or break down the door to the shelter screaming let us in.. Then of course that alows the chem, bio, nuke, toxins in and the food isn't enough for all of them, so not only do I die, they all do too in the end, taking me with them.

For the next couple of weeks, comet debris impacts (unlikely)

I'm starting to check my preps for holes in Hurricane supplies. That's lead worry for the next few months.

Civil unrest due to Illegal Imigrants/crackdown on same. I figure this year or next will start _something_, even if it's total surrender.

The piss poor field of Presidential hopefuls of any party. This lack of honorable _American_ leadership will be a problem for the next decade. How bad a problem will depend on mostly outside factors, another attack on the US homeland with a weak president or the UN pressuring a liberal government into unwise industrial regulations, economic decisions or financial obligations WRT Kyoto treaty could extend that time frame.

Bird flu? I'll worry when it goes H2H easily.

We are also prepping for Hurricane season. This weekend we will make a trip to the bug out to take more supplies. I will work on the house there to make it more stucturally sound. I will check on the supplies that are already there and make a list of things that might be needed.

My very own "representitive" Gov't. What a crock, and using MY money 24/7 to undermine and give away what belongs to me, mine, and ours by virtue of our ancestor's blood and sacrifice. I cannot believe what is happening in front of my very eyes, this is utterly surreal. Yup, the US Gov't is our most serious threat.

I was interrupted, and didn't manage to get the poll posted. My recently widowed sister's son just came home from "basic" and advanced training, Army MP reserve.

She went to his graduation, and is now sick from the airplane ride home...

Anyway, if someone could pick up the flag, and make a good poll on what the closest threat is to our just-in-time lifestyle, I would really appreciate it.

Right now, I am trying to do "cross-country" sibling support, put up with "stinky" older chicks who need to be out in the yard, (but it is too cold here), cover my heat-lover tomatoes and peppers, for frost could happen tonight.

All in all just a usual day for those of us dealing with problems, local and international, right?

They all suck. But W will go down in history as the President that sold our nation out to Mexico and big business. If something doesn't change immediately, he will go down as being far worse than James Earl Carter.

But as far as preps go and the original intent of this thread, watch the economy and hurricanes. Both are now tied together in a frightening way.

Bird flu which may have just made the final mutation becoming transmittable human to human....N Korean & Iranian nukes...Another 9/11, ( or worse) attack..the continued inability of those on the left, ( & far right) to see that OBL/ Iran are bigger threats then Bush/Ashcroft...... severe economic downturn...the continuing escalation in the price of viagra...:shkr:

The thing I am most afraid of is the coming collapse of our economy. Everything else pales in comparison. As far as survivability goes anyway. YMMV. And if I see someone spell 'border' BOARDER one more time, I might just snap. LEARN TO SPELL IF YOU'RE GOING TO COMMUNICATE PROPERLY!!! Hell, maybe I've already snapped. :lkick:

I guess I am thinking alittle different here. Of course I am concerned about sickness, illegals, weather, terror, ect. How about the Vet Admin. loosing everyones private info to burglers. (That one just doesn't sit right with me.) I am worried that because of all of those things, the next step will be to mark, in some way, everyone, in order to conduct business.

If at that time I am not preped for the rest of my life, I will only have life for as long as I have preped.

You need to prep spiritually as well as materially, cause when the goods are gone, you only have you and the Good Lord to guide your way and grant you peace and comfort.:rs:

If you don't have faith in yourself first, how can you place any faith in any God over yourself? Hey, I believe in God and I have faith that God will do as he said he will. But I absolutely don't expect him to provide for me while I sit on my hind end with my hands out. Having faith doesn't mean doing nothing for yourself. Quite the opposite. Having faith means doing everything you can for yourself while praying for protection from him. He will faithfully do his part and I would think that he expects nothing less from you/us. Does that make sense? Work hard and do everything in your power to insure your own survival. And then pray hard that he will deliver you if you've messed up or missed a step. God will forgive you, but you may lose your life in the bargain if you turn it all over to him (not that that's a bad thing really). Something to think about...

I hear you here, that's why I prepare each day and ready as ever, but my faith keeps me going above all else. Most people feel if they're prepared materially to the hilt it will get them thru the dark times, but faith in the Divine is the ultimate prep.;)
