You know what they will do if you go and get hard headed about it?
They will say "OK buddy. You want to do cash, then you can only use cash.
No credit cards.
No debit cards.
No bank account.
No mortgage.
No Social Security.
They'll say "Go for it big guy - see you inside of a week when you change your mind"

ok. You could do it. I actually did it for a couple of years back in 2010.
I had direct deposit but every week, I would withdraw money from the bank once a week - Friday.
First stop was gas station. Went inside and prepaid, turned on pump, filled tank.
Went to grocery store. Customer service and paid utilities. Shopped, when through self serve, and inserted cash into the machine.
Ordered pizza delivery. Paid cash on delivery.
Didn't work because no one else is willing to "Go Galt".

I went Galt to the Beast and it’s commerce, but remain quite active in the community, which finds my particular skill-set and services pertinent there-to….too valuable to fail.
Someone has to keep the gate to the barter world/wilderness open….even if—maybe especially if—it kills him in the end to do so.

We all know we live in "insurance world" now.
How do you pay your insurance bill? Do you stuff cash in an envelope.
If you write a check, do you think they actually send the check through the ach process or do the take a digital picture of it? Is that digital?
And when you pay your medical bill . . . will the hospital take your cash?

Haven’t played the insurance game since before 1997….
I’ll let you in on a small secret, which will still hold water in the event of cashless.
Several businesses and individuals around here will cheerfully make checks out to a local (small, hometown) bank where I am well-known and appreciated, though I haven’t had an account since, you guess it…..
The bank president will convert any check I bring him (trusted parties) into cashiers checks to whomever I need one to go….and give me cash or coin for the remaining balance.

I will approach it differently.
They will send me CBDCs through Social Security however they want - CBDC memory stick, credit card, or bank.
I will use those CBDCs first until they are used up.
Once their CBDCs are gone, I'll use cash for anyone that will take it.
And since Social Credit Score will be required, I will be Socially Neutral. No Social Media. No streaming internet, because they are going to score what you watch at some point. No TB2K.
And you know they won't end your ability to purchase if you are not vaxed. They will charge you a "social responsibility" fee . . . like they did with Obamacare. I will figure out a way to get exempted or I will pay it - just like I did with Obamacare.
They simply cannot have people who stop consuming.

I have a phone but its for my convenience not the governments. To get travel pay from the VA they want you to use an electronic device and I refuse to do that. My phone and computer are my business and I'm the one that pays for it. I don't do any personal business on my phone. I pay bills on my computer at home but that depends on whether or not I have internet, which by the way is getting my expensive.
And recently I did a pick up order from walmart and there was a problem with it. The helpful person in the customer service department asked my how could I place my order if I couldn't access the app on my phone and I told her I ordered from my computer at home. I couldn't get into my app in the store because I had no internet connection in the store, but she showed me how to use the walmart wifi.
I've decided not to do anymore pick up orders because they do not give you a paper receipt.
As for digital money, I don't know what I will do.
ETA: will I even have a choice of what to do.

Probably won't happen? I guess you haven't been following what has already happened in China.There's enough to think about in a day without making yourself crazy over crap that probably won't happen..or affect you.
In my view, it's just as likely we will be using .22 ammo, fish hooks and canning lids for currency in the future.
My life has been a nice adventure - I've done quite a bit more than I expected and more than most.
I do not have a bucket list.
Not in a hurry to leave - figure I am still here for a reason

For YEARS now I’ve been bartering for just about anything you can think of. Once bartered a gun I didn’t like and it’s corresponding ammo in lieu of a down payment on a new wakeboat (he gave me roughly 3-4x its worth). Lots of buying and selling under the table, flipped a car I had for a year at $10k over what I paid (thank you pandemic!) and have been stockpiling ‘hard currency’ of various types. If I find exceptional deals in things, I’ll buy it and wait until someone REALLY wants that thing and sell it for more than what I paid, or barter for something I REALLY want (but refuse to pay that kind of money).
You can also barter services. Husband is a killer welder and fabricator and frequently takes goods as payment rather than cash. I have helped to clean homes, babysit kids, make meals for various things.

Yes, I could survive for awhile if I ran out into the National Forest that surrounds this area.....but actually there is not much purpose in that since they will hunt us like the wild mustangs they have slaughtered!!
