[FONT=Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif]I don't think it's ever happened, but what if the electors don't vote as they are expected to? I know in my state the penalty for not voting in sinc with the Nov 4th election is not much more than a slap on the hand. Some states have harsh penalties, but some don't.

[FONT=Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif]"Electors assemble in their respective states on Monday after the second Wednesday in December. They are pledged and expected, but not required, to vote for the candidates they represent. Separate ballots are cast for President and Vice President, after which the electoral college ceases to exist for another four years. The electoral vote results are counted and declared at a joint session of Congress, held on January 6 of the year succeeding the election. A majority of electoral votes (currently 270 of 538) is required to win."

You can read the entire article here. Below is another paragraph from the article. Sounds like this guy is going to keep fighting right up to the bitter end. I've wondered all along why nobody has looked at his mothers passport to find her date of entry into the country. This guy is trying to do that.

[FONT=Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif]Yesterday I filed four Freedom of Information Act requests and sent them over night mail. One: Illinois Secretary of State to obtain all documentation, applications, forms, electronic and hard copy, including proof of citizenship for Barack Hussein Obama for his 1996 Illinois State Senate race. I filed two with the U.S. State Department (1) Stanley Ann Dunham, married name Stanley Ann Obama to obtain her passport application and all travel records; departure and entry into the U.S. during the year 1961; and (2) Barack Obama, Sr., to obtain his travel records, entry and departure records for the year 1961. Four: I filed a State Records Act request with the University of Hawaii to obtain Stanley Ann Dunham, then married, Stanley Ann Obama's enrollment applications and list of classes, and any and all documentation regarding her departure from the University for good. Would probably never happen as TPTB got their man in the white house. Now, if by some fluke Ron Paul was running and apparently had one I would expect to see some slight of hand but not for the Obominator.

We can be sure they are being told they can't do that because there will be major problems from the black commutes all over the country. ether that or they are being paid off or threatened to vote only one way. We should trust our government.:lkick:

OK, I think in one of Nixon's elections, some elector could not stomach Nixon and voted for somebody else.

Since then, many states have passed a law requiring their electors to vote as the voters directed. At least one state is dinking with the idea of having the electors vote the national popular vote. When it was pointed out that it disenfranchised the home folk, the idea kind of died.

Now if a bunch of electors got together and decided to vote in Ron Paul, they could piously proclaim that all they were doing was their constitutional duty....just before they were lynched.
