An old style "church key ". If the part that fits under the lid is wide enough and you pry carefully, you could reuse the lids (on a jar of something you don't care about so much. )

I put a butter knife across the top of the bottle and then use a bottle opener with sharp point on knife to pop it open.

This ^^^ is what we do and we save it to reuse it later! No dents or bends.

I use either the rounded end of a church key, or the lid lifter on my big hand can opener. I never re-use lids for canning, so a dent isn't too big of a deal (I do re-use them, just not for canning).

And I'm not sure I would trust the seal on a lid that could be opened with just your thumbs....
