The inauguration does NOT happen, for whatever reason?

An attempt on Trump's life?

Swearing-in will take place off-site?

Protesters getting through security and ?

Disruptions/violence at any of the "balls?"

Terrorist attack?

All mayhem breaking out?

Nothing - everything goes off smoothly?

I've seen comments here and there about all of the above, and wanted to query the smart people here.

The inauguration WILL happen since it is mandated. There is no provision for it not to happen.

The transfer of the Government to the new Administration is the only option for Jan 20. The current Administration has no legal standing after noon, Jan 20.

If Trump is unable to be sworn in for some reason, then it will go to Pence, and from there via the succession rule.

If they cant do it on the grandstand, then they will do the swearing in wherever they need too.

Trump will be inaugurated in the regular place and time.

Agitators will try to agitate and create some problems and get the quick beat down and paddy wagon routine. May be sporadic and spread out. But the will not succeed in real disruptions, the more egregious they act, the worse the throw down on the ground and cuffs etc.

Disruptions at balls if tried will be severely dealt with.

This is my thinking as well. There will be protests, and the drive-by media will do its best to play it up and give them lots of coverage, but I don't think it will get any worse than minor skirmishes. Security has been planned since the election and I expect it to be excellent. With the Project Veritas videos coming out, the wind has been taken out of the sails of the extreme Soros-paid activist leaders and I expect a big fail for them.

Yes, they will be on the same plane, the plane just won't carry the AF-1 designation since Trump won't be on it. And there WILL be several sections of the plane he won't have access to since his clearance ends at Noon.

Overnight in DC maybe some torched cars/gas stations. Will be squashed quickly by the large quantities of extra help on hand.
Saturday nigh-Sunday, natives might get restless in some of the typical liberal shit holes. Only if its nice though, rain or snow then it will be delayed.
