I'm still trying to figure out if we're going to have time for a fall garden but, if nothing else, I'll be planting cukes, zukes, and some puple hull peas a neighbor gave me. Never did get any planted yet this year and I simply must have some before the season is over!
Romaine and buttercrunch lettuce, cabbage, yellow crookneck squash (actually, that's more of a late summer planting), turnip greens, maybe some spinach.
I usually pack my little fall square foot gardens with collards, mustard and turnip greens for canning. What is left goes in mesclun mix (several kinds of lettuces, red kale, etc.), spinach , green onions, and pak choi. I usually stick in radishes wherever there is extra space just so I can wash them and pop them into my mouth right in the garden.
Last year I grew hybrid baby pak choi. It was the cutest little plant you ever saw, and if you cut them off at the base of the vase shape, the tough, stringy part that looks like an above ground root stalk would grow another plant.
