What I am asking is how did fast food respond to this $12 minimum wage?
Raise prices, consolidate menu offerings and close less performing stores.

I use self checkout cause it is faster.
Yep. So last year I went to McD and got the usual quarter pounder, fries, etc. The price here in town where we already have $15 an hour was $10.78. Then when I went up to Arlington which has no such thing and ordered the same thing, and the price was $5.24. That is the difference.Fast food will increase their prices. It has already happened in areas with the new wages. It'll happen everywhere. Businesses will shut down. People will stop buying. I already limit anything I buy out because 10 to 15 for simple drinks and burgers is insane. And that's the cheap stuff.
yes, but if you use your card you can go back years and years and see exactly what you bought LOLAnd no nosey check out clerks making note of odd purchases. Then if you pay in cash that is even fewer lines back to your preps.
I pray you're right! But I fear the Silly Season is in full bloom, and those tend to turn bloody so quickly...It will never pass into law. Gads...there are even some Democrats that know it's a disaster, let alone 50 Republican senators.

I don’t think most unskilled, minimum wage types understand
that their work has to BRING IN MUCH MORE MONEY (at least two to three times their hourly wage)
IN HOURLY PROFIT (NOT JUST HOURLY SALES!)
TO THE BUSINESS PAYING THEM, for that business to stay in business and pay them.
If I were hiring them, I would give them an orientation on ALL “overhead” the business had to pay, profit margins, and how much in sales is required to earn enough to continue paying them, doing business, and other fundamentals of capitalism.
