Has No Life - Lives on TB
I posted this on a different thread, but I think it especially bears repeating on this one:
The idea of police arresting people for violating the emergency no-gathering laws is ludicrous. Jurisdictions around the country are already releasing inmates prematurely due to the virus. Additionally, lots of cops around the country are getting infected. No cop in his or her right mind wants any more contact with the public than is absolutely necessary.
The criminals are already starting to understand this and soon I expect this country to be a criminal's Disneyland, as the police are less and less willing to respond to anything less than, say, a mass murder!
Everyone needs to take personal responsibility for their own security. I know that this probably doesn't apply to many of our board members, but there are huge numbers of middle class and wealthy people in the US who don't own firearms (much less know how to use them) and pay an alarm company to monitor their residences. They'll hang onto their little panic buttons like an African witchdoctor's fetish and expect an immediate police response to save them when they press the little button.
Guess what, sunshine. The cavalry ain't coming.
