The mods are expanding the list of "racist" stuff as in code works to include reference to tokes, dindus, any connotation to "savages" or ape like references. It seems they are really determined to crack down on any such references with warnings and even automatic bans without recourse. They claim its due to some folks who like to press the limits of coc.

More likely, I think as they are owned by Target now, Target is forcing them to go woke. Sad times. They were briefly down after Jan 6 by their server hosts and got a reprieve. To be honest arfcom is no where near white aryan storm front or four channel. I am even hearing tranny references are taboo.:(

If they stick with this, a lot of good people are going to leave. That means they will loose a lot of revenue through paying memberships and advertising. The problem is the new guidelines are vague, even the vaguest reference like amish can get you banned.

No threats of armed uprising against the government

No use of the “N word” (concession to traffic referrals)

No constant bashing of various religions (except for muzloids, who’ve earned it)

That’s about it.

Oh, and no “gratuitous profanity”, particularly on Main.

I very much enjoy the ability to express myself here. I try not to abuse it. I have gone overboard before, but I feel fortunate to be able to discuss issues among like-minded people.

While I am very opinionated, I like to think I an open minded enough to listen.

We are very lucky to have a place where we can have such discussions and I feel the moderators do a very even handed job of seeing we do not get too out of control.

Thanks for the board and maybe we will be able to work out some solutions to see our way out of this mess.

There's woke nonsense and then there's closeted racism (I've never seen dindu in a nonracial context, for example). A site can become problematic for people in some environments if it's labeled as racist. Terms like that are seen broadly as "racist dog whistles."

Not being close to Storm Front in content is a good thing.

I personally heard the term didnu nuffin after numerous felony arrests, usually from the immediate family of the felon.

The best was after I questioned a suspect in a string of armed robbery's and the robbers father predictably claimed that I was harassing his son because he was black. He said his son didndo nuffin.

A few days later our K-9 drug him out of the woods after he robbed an ice cream store at gunpoint in broad daylight. I took the stolen money and ski mask out of his pockets as his father parked right next to us. So much for didndo nuffin.

The leeway given on this forum is greatly appreciated. I occasionally type something here I would NOT want seen by my employer. Or my mother.

Not that it isn't true or logical in the overall context given. Free speech can be expensive in certain contexts.

Just posit that some nefarious member spewed a bunch of questionable rants here. That's the foundation of a false flag edifice.

I rarely go to "arfcom". I understand their motivation. I also acknowledge the long-suffering attempt to reach a balance of decorum here on TB.

Those appear to me to be rules of decorum rather than restriction of free speech. There’s a million ways to say a thing. Pick a way that expresses the idea and doesn’t bring hell down on the rest of us innocent bystanders.
