DH and I did Aldi and Sam’s shopping yesterday and I’m so tired today. We managed to get everything that needed to be in the freezer and refrigerator put away and I got some things put in the pantry but the kitchen counters are still fairly cluttered. I’ve got to get the kitchen back under control and get the apples we dried last week out of the storage bags and into jars. And although the dehydrators are clean, one of them is still on the table!
We bought 2 big packs of BS chicken breast and 1 pack of tenderloins at Sam’s that need to be divided up, vac packed and froze. I want to get stocked up more on chicken and a local store has whole fryers on sale at a good price this week but we absolutely don’t have room in the freezers, although I just had the thought I could send some to one of my daughters freezers, hmmm. We just had a steer butchered, so freezer space is at a premium. I really need to get things organized around here and get some beef canned up. I only got one container of coffee yesterday the price was $14.46 for 40 oz Folgers, ugh, so glad I’ve got extras put back. 10 lbs of onions, 10 lbs of carrots, Brussel sprouts, bell peppers (we generally still have peppers in the garden at this time still but the heat and drought made that impossible), tomato’s, 5 lb of sweet potatoes (have ordered more from grandson through FFA), cashews, some dairy products, frozen vegetables (that I had to work really hard to find freezer space for but the choices for fresh aren’t always that great and cost more). A bag of oranges and a few snack things for the grands.
At Aldi I added 4 large cans of crushed tomato’s, some French style green beans, evaporated milk, small cans of tomato sauce, fire roasted tomatoes, maraschino cherries, rolls of Maria cookies, cottage cheese, cream cheese, pimento cheese, Swiss cheese and heavy cream. Prices are definitely on the rise.
SB~I’m glad to hear you got good results and got news early. I hope you have a great meal and enjoy time with your family tomorrow! Prayers up for safe travels.
