I have been absolutely and utterly exhausted today. I think it's two fold. One is that I made the mistake of using caffeine as a pick me up yesterday. It worked really well, but I'm paying the piper today. I should have realized that it was going to hit hard and fast with how drained my body is. Second is that it is almost exactly 4 weeks from my body hemorrhaging it's way through my period. And the body is already giving me signs that I will bleed this month. Once my brain put it all together, I bumped the hormone dose back up a level. Fingers crossed. I should know how bad this will tomorrow or the next day. I'd really like for it to be a light period. And I'm thinking it's a good thing that I didn't stop the extra anemia treatment boosters yet. I'm not trying to stop it, just trying to keep it from becoming another hemorrhaging event. If the hormones can't do that, I may end up with an emergency hysterectomy regardless.
I had a bulk order this morning. A really big one since I missed the last one due to being in the ER. It took a lot for me to get there, get everything loaded, get home, get everything unloaded, and get the cold/frozen stuff dealt with. Thank those above that I work from home because that's about the only reason I could work today. And in the list of blessings is that I only have to repack one of the meats. The rest came prepackaged in the sizes we use them in. And my freezers are crammed full again. Going to be honest, that is a relief for me.
I waited until today to look and see what Prime Day deals I was going to get. I had specifics in mind. The only one I didn't get was batteries. Because it turns out I can get them for a good price at Sam's any time. So they are on the next grocery list to refill the sizes we were running short on.
But a knitting loom large enough to make tubes for my son is coming. I will use the scraps of his old fleece blankets, turned into fleece yard, to make those. Those will provide some warmer ones for the winter months. The only thing I'm debating is whether I'm going to stitch the tubes closed so there's no raw edges. I may try one each way to see what his reaction is.
Then I got two security cams. These were to replace the ones I got from Woot about a month ago that were refurbished, and dead on arrival. These aren't refurbished. And aren't through Woot. And the ceiling mounts for them. These are movable 360 cameras. I really am trying to start to get the security cameras in place. They aren't hardwired but the quality is almost equal to the hardwired cameras that my Dad and brother can get their hands on. And honestly, if the power goes out, I lose them all, hardwired or not.
The last purchase was a couple of different knife sharpener kits. I am tired of dull knives. To get knives sharpened I have to drive 45 minutes away, leave them for 48 to 72 hours, and end up paying $10 to $15 per knife. I have too many knives for that. So I AM going to learn how to sharpen my own knives. And I got two sets of paring knives to replace the paring knives that have somehow disappeared from my home over the last decade or so. I'm tired of having to make due.
Son has been having a really bad time with migraines lately. So I took it to the top level two days ago. And I'm keeping it there for at least one more day, then we'll start the taper off and see how he's doing. This level of meds causes backlash headaches, so he has to taper off and we have to be careful. But today he's been in a better mood than yesterday. And yesterday was better than the day before. I'll take the increments.
Now... well, one of those order items was seasoned tilapia filets. I think I'm about to go heat up the oven and throw some in. Those, with a salad, should make a good dinner for us. And an easy super to make for a person who's pretty wiped out. All the dry goods from that order will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon, or Friday, to go to their new home.
Oh, I did do two splurges. One was a container of a tea flavor that I really, really like. The second was a cast iron mortar and pestle. That's a new unique one for my collection.
