I have been doing an experiment after something nomifyle mentioned. Judy said she used corn starch in place of deodorant. So I decided to try it. After my shower, I use a cotton ball to swab my arm pits with alcohol. I let them dry then dust with the corn starch. I am more comfortable and believe it or not I smell better. There is very little odor. The alcohol kills bacteria. It is cheap too, so that is another win.
I use a glass cheese shaker for my cornstarch, and shake it out on a wash cloth. I usually keep that wash cloth in a basket in the bathroom.I don't know if they still make that scented bath powder that comes in those little round containers that have a powder puff in them. Remember those? If they do still make them, you can buy one, empty the powder out ( I don't use it on my body), and refill with constarch. Use the puff to powder the cornstarch where ever you want. That's how I do it.
I use to take Cranberry capsules regularly and that habit fell by the way side years ago. Last year I had a UTI, hadn't had one in at least two decades. So I started taking Cranberry again, told my doctor that and she said that would work. I have a year's supply of them.Well, when Cary went to see his Urologist the other day, he had to give a urine sample. It always has to be sent off for analysis. His nurse called late yesterday with the results. Wouldn't ya know it, Cary has another UTI. He is showing no symptoms at all. Thank God it was caught, before he went septic again! So, she called him in a prescription for antibiotics at Walmart.
Now, what did I tell ya'll about Cary doing shopping by himself?! Yeah, he ran to Walmart by himself this morning to pick up his script......
What did he come home with?!!! A large pack of cookies, a large bag of cat food, 2, 3 liter bottles of Ginger Ale, 3 bottles of vitamins that I was going to get at Sam's (much cheaper by the way), and his meds! I knew it was going to happen. It never fails, LOL!

Hope he gets rid of it quickly.
God is good all the time

Research juniper berries for UTIs. I read that just a few will clear it up. What I read said our Eastern Red Cedar is a juniper and their berries work. Do your own research. I have not tried them for UTI or anything else.
When hubby goes to wm alone, he comes home with movies, junk food, and toys.Well, when Cary went to see his Urologist the other day, he had to give a urine sample. SB and amazon- I buy Windsong scented powder in the round container with the puff.
SouthernBreeze I remember those little round powder containers with the powder puff! I loved it! I haven't seen them in decades.
What have I done? I dried more apples. Ordered more dog food since Sam's didn't have it. Bought more dried beans, marinara, Alfredo, pasta, 20 lbs potatoes, and more. I just ordered the Ecoflow solar portable power pack with 2 solar panels. I think we'll take the big, heavy generator to the farm. We're trying a TP-less bathroom. We'll see how that goes. I need to can some meats and beans. Probably won't happen this week.
I have cheese drying to wax tomorrow. If that goes well I plan to do a little more.
My Sam's continues to be low on produce and only keeping stock on bottom shelves for most part. WM had lots of holes. Aldis also understocked. I went to Goodwill looking for a cheap pot to melt wax, but they had very little of anything except crappy clothes.
Hope everyone has a good week!
My MIL is there with a dog. Family all through the hollar. We were leaving it for her. You're right though. We'd never leave at an empty location. You might want to reconsider leaving a generator at your farm if you don't live there. Thieves around here will take them before anything else. One of my friends concreted the legs of his to the ground, which dh told him was stupid, because he couldn't take it to the shop to be repaired if it needed it. They ended up having to leave it when they moved, because they couldn't get it out of the ground without a jackhammer.

Haven't got much done for preps except horse stuff.
There are still so much garden produce left to deal with.
Remember when I told you my son called me late at night as he got lost hiking? He made a video about it called "Lost in the woods" on his yt channel.
At the very end he shows us at our hike group, kids and me I look like I just crawled out of a hole but it was a great fun day in the woods. He ended up coming along for 4 hours.
His yt channel is my signature on here, if your interested.
There is Awana tonight so I'm resting from the running today.
We got my ceiling in cabin done and still need a few small pieces of flashing. My bookcase is coming along good.
Took boys and friend to Lego club last night to have a small respite from the horse issues while they were all dealing with it.
So far so good.
You can buy test strip (AZO brand) at WalMart that will tell you whether you have a UTI...
