Here we are again! I'm always surprised to wake up and discover a new week has started

It's shotgun deer season this weekend, so I've not been outside any more than I have to be - not concerned about my family members who are hunting on our ground, but there are 5 vehicles parked in the field across the road and I only recognize one of them.

My co-worker Buddy brought out another truck load of wood chip mulch and dumped it under my clothesline for me while I was working on Thursday or Friday last week; I need to get it spread out. He seems to think I need one more load, so I will try to get that taken care of later this week.

Plans for today include picking up the grandkids (and a spare lol!) to take them to the pool for a couple of hours. Other than that, it will just be working around inside the house, or maybe getting some online Christmas shopping done - I need to coordinate with son-in-law to make sure I'm not duplicating gifts. I'm thinking I will get the boys subscriptions to Ranger Rick's Rick Jr and National Geographic Kids magazine - I'm trying to go by the old adage of 'Something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read.' PJs and sweatsuits are already on the table for the something to wear, new toothbrushes (my kids love toothbrushes lol!) for the need :) Still working out with SIL on the need/want list.

Monday will be spent going to aqua aerobics with my neighbor ladies, then coming home to work outside with Hubby, trying to get things buckled up for winter; Tuesday and Wednesday are work days. Thanksgiving Day - Hubby has to work both Wednesday and Thursday nights so will be sleeping; I will go to daughter's and/or to my friend's home for the noon meal, then bring him home a plate for when he wakes up.

CVS has several items that are free after Extra Care Bucks (get what you spent back on an Extra Care Buck) and coupons, so I will likely run into town that morning and pick up a few things. That will be the only Black Friday sale I go to, however!!

Since our unit has been being remodeled at work, we lost our clothing closet for the patients; we should be able to open it back up soon, so I have been gathering up various clothing items to take in; I need to have Hubby go through his closet to see what he has as well. I also need to take a couple more storage tubs of the boys outgrown things to my niece for our great-nephew.

Guess I'd better get off this computer and get some things done - take care, all; have a great week!

Had a dr. appt. this morning and got some things taken care of--prescription renewals, mammo scheduled for next week. A quick stop at Dollar General got me six cans of green beans for $1 after using the Libby's coupon. I'll do the same thing tomorrow as I found another coupon. Also bought 4 cans of cream of chicken soup with coupons. Total of $3.60 out the door.

Then I stopped at the liquor store and bought 2 bottles of butterscotch schnapps and a bottle of fireball whiskey. I'm going to kill this cold one way or the other!!!

A trip to Walmart ended with 4 long sleeve t shirts and some more nasal spray and some gatorade to replace what I drank last week.

That should be mostly it for the week. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

For about two months I've been concentrating on getting in better physical shape. It's working. My stamina has increased noticeably and I've lost weight. I'm feeling good! The diet is going to take a hit over the holidays. That's to be expected.

Both sons home for Thanksgiving.......PTL........picked up some Litehouse freeze-dried herbs for $1.99 and $1.45.......King Sooper is discontinuing them......I wonder if Litehouse is dropping these?

Safeway prices them at almost $6 a bottle........so I'm pleased with these......my dh is suffering silently as I stock up on holiday foods offered on sale and with coupons...bought some other baking supplies, and another two bottles of dried org. minced onion and onion powder........I can't cook without onions!!

SHALOM TO ALL HOUSEHOLDS AND BLESSINGS FOR ALL OUR LOVED ONES!

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving; those of you who are traveling, safe journeys!

I have hot rolls and cinnamon rolls rising on the island counter this morning, soon to go into the oven. While I'm waiting for them to be ready, I am going to clean out my van and carry in the shelf stable items I have bought over the past week or so. I will be on the road later today - first to daughter's home for dinner at 1pm; then to my best friend's home for another dinner/desserts; then to the hospital where I work to bring co-worker Buddy a meal from the 2nd stop, plus a pie for all of them to enjoy. Hubby worked last night and again tonight, so he will be sleeping; I will bring him home a meal from one of the dinners as well.

Great deal on the sale items, ladies!! And OGM, good deal on working on getting in shape - I'm very glad to be getting back to aqua aerobics, but I'm thinking I might need to have Hubby move his clean laundry from the inside clothesline - aka: the Bowflex - so that I can work my arm and chest muscles a bit more. I also need to work leg muscles more than just the aa and taking the stairs at work - as I discovered when I took a short bike ride the other day!! It's a 26 mile ride home from work, most at a slight incline; then the closer I get to home, I run into lots of hills, so I need to be in shape to do that in case of an emergency!

I have been very low on energy this week as I've been trying to fight off a head cold, so haven't done much toward putting back any preps, but did pick up a few items - most of those have come from Aldi in the form of dried fruits, nuts, frozen oj and other juices, and items that are only available seasonally.

Hubby hasn't had a chance to get to Rural King this week, and I haven't had the energy to stop in on my way home from work. He wants me to have some .223 varmint ammo to use against the coyotes who seem to have had a population explosion in this area; cousin shot one he came up on point blank when walking in from his tree stand last weekend, and has numerous photos of a largish pack from the several game cams he has out. I will be going past RK on my way to drop off holiday meals at the hospital, but don't know that my energy (or patience lol!) will be up to the crowds today. I really wish RK wasn't open on Thanksgiving - well, I wish that none but essential services were, for that matter! - so would feel pretty hypocritical going in lol! (How you know you've been a nurse too long - the 'hypo' part of hypocrite suddenly doesn't 'sound' right as you type because you know hypo means low, hyper means high... Oh, wait a minute, maybe it does make sense) (Sorry, random train of thought, there - maybe I'd better back off on the cold med  )

I have tomorrow off work as well; will just be puttering around the house for the most part, doing quiet chores as Hubby will be sleeping again. I do need to burrow in to the under-the-basement-stairs closet to drag out the little Christmas tree and get it set up so that it is ready for the grandkids to decorate it with the hand made ornaments we bought at my Aunt's church bazaar the next time they come over; but that is the only thing on the 'Gotta Do' list.

Guess I'd better go get started on getting that stuff carried in if I'm going to - take care, all...

I was looking at a small 5.0 cubic feet freezer to put in a room off the kitchen. Just as I was about to press order, my brother called. He insisted on buying a freezer for me, very nice of him. He bought a 15 cf freezer and it takes up a lot of space. I'm very grateful to him, expecially as we are having trouble with our upright. We think the gasket needs to be replaced. So instead of putting prep things in the new freezer I'm transferring two hogs and two deer from the upright to the new chest. Its not that the upright doesn't work, its just that it accumulates ice on the top shelf, and it ultimately grows down the front. So I'm getting everything out of it so we can replace the gasket/seal. Plus our refrigerator freezer in the kitchen is jammed full and I can't make ice and I'm tired of not having ice.

DH loves french fries so he cut up a bunch of potatoes in shoe string cuts, deep fried them and then froze them. It works, just take a handful out and warm in a skillet. The problem is we have alot of those potatoes and he got tired of eating them all the time. So I am trying my hand at dehydrating them. I just successfully dehydrated frozen blue berries. I had/have several pounds of them in the freezer.
