Our little local plant nursery is closing here off the beaten path. I loved having them just about a mile from the house. They did a good business but it started as just for a little extra money. It quickly turned into more than they planned. Yesterday they had everything half off. We bought 9 more trees, a peach, apple, plum, pear, flowering cherry, 2 figs, a corkscrew willow for my cousin, a cypress to put by our pond, and a frost proof gardenia. So far I have the peach planted, but they are all in pots, so i don't have to rush. All the blueberries were gone by the time we got there 15 minutes after opening. It was a madhouse. Cars parked everywhere along the narrow dirt road. Everyone was nice and polite and we ran into a few friends which was nice.

After unloading our plants, we went to a friends yard sale. I bought some things there for next to nothing. I got 2 pair of expensive boots for our son for $2 each pair. I needed some more sheets for the bed in the spare room. They had some in the sale that I bought. The top and bottom don't match, but I don't mind. They were good quality. I also bought some serving spoons and forks for our church. It seems we never have enough at potlucks. I bought some nice, big flower pots for $1 each. I an thinking of putting my Italian peppers in them. Maybe I can keep them away from the deer that way.

Hubby has not been feeling well at all. His back has really been bad since he had to lift on his dad. The dr wanted to try a new anti inflammatory drug but it does not seem to be working as well as the naproxen plus it upsets his stomach. He will probably switch back to the naproxen.

I have some stuff called "New Skin" that may do the same thing as super glue. I may give that a try on minor cuts but not what DH did to his fingers. The fingers must be healing because they are no longer bleeding.

This week I've gotten nothing done that I absolutely couldn't get out of doing. But now its time to at least get something done. Although I've been up a couple of hours and haven't even made the coffee, I've been drinking water when I first get up lately. Maybe that is why I've not had my usual morning headache.

My vision has been changing lately. Since my cateract surgery I've worn bifocal readers, but lately I've had to take them off because the clear part on top has been making it harder to focus. My distance vision is not as sharp as it was for awhile after I had the surgery. I wanted to go to the eye clinic when we were at the VA the other day to make an appointment but after my experience with the ER I opted not to do that. I'll have to call them.

One tip on superglue for cuts... for a really contaminated injury- don't! Even sutures may not be a good idea... steristrips or butterfly bandages are excellent, though.

For anything else, assume some contamination. And leave a small (1/8"-1/4") section of the cut unglued. It may leave a *slightly * messier scar, but if infection starts, pus can drain... otherwise it has to be reopened to drain, and thats no fun. (If you have stitches, you can just snip one or two to allow drainage in even of infection)

Got a bunch stuff done. Oldest grandson here last night then for the day.
Drove over to Amish friends see about getting horses hooves done. Monday he said. Very nice little family.
It's still only about 50 and windy. Yuck.
Just not wanting to do much outside. Grandson and I worked on the pantry and he found some things he liked to eat.
4 eggs, 5 large waffles he had for breakfast and a quart of milk. Thank God we are stocked but guess what? Thought we had plenty toilet paper. It's all paper towels. So making list for first of month for the Big Shop. That's how we have done it for years. It's our date day cause we usually stop and have a nice lunch too.
With the pool up, I imagine we will have plenty kids for the summer. Grandson already saying he plans to be here weeks at a time. I'll have to put some boundaries in place. We already have 7 living here. Just so much we can do.

I really want to get the boards for my cabin walls inside. Can't afford the plywood. But lowes has something called brown board, 12$ a sheet of 4x8. Will probably have to go that route. I have the cabin well insulated except the ceiling. Pulled the plastic down I had up there. Really love having it as my private spot.

I have started to fill my new 55-gallon barrel with gas for storage. Its for the generator.
Went to a local small gun show this morning. Sold a couple of old revolvers that I didn't want. Bought a little brass but that was it.

Our cabin building has come to a hault because of Dh's hand injury. he's lacking a four feet width on the roof on the back room and half of the ridge cap on half of the cabin. We can't get anyone to help. He will probably finish it himself when his hand heals, but he said before the hand accident that he was not feeling like he should do that climbing anymore. But...

Had some luck at the grocery store today. Pork shoulder was 99 cents a pound. Got the smallest they had, which was 8 lbs and it barely fit in my slow cooker. Will turn it into pulled pork and can it tomorrow.

They also had some marked down beef chunks at $3.49 a lb. Around here you can't even buy cheap hamburger for that price. Got five pounds and they are in the canner right now. Also got some bacon at $3.99 a lb. I HAVE NO MORE ROOM!!! There is no corner of this house to stick anything else in. But I just can't seem to pass up a good deal, especially on protein, so it is going to stay stacked in cases on the den floor.

I know the feeling! I've got cases stacked waist high in my bedroom floor! 2 cases deep all along one short wall. I did manage to clean out a corner in the pantry room for more storage space. I'm trying to fill it now.

Judy, i can do the walls, its not heavy thick plywood. I will definitely have to have help for the ceiling!
My oldest grandson helped me straighten up the pantry and stock today, gave him whatever he wanted from there. When his dad came to get him, got him to take few dozen eggs and a quart of pickled eggs.
whew, lots of eggs, can't give them away

Transplanted elderberries and raspberries, managed to get bbq ribs and banana pudding from scratch made. I am so tired now - it's just pathetic how low my energy is. I also managed to thicken up the rows of potatoes by planting a few more inbetween. otherwise, that's about all I could get done.

I'm not feeling well at all this morning. Around 4 am this morning, I was startled awake by a warm feeling washing over my whole body. I couldn't go back to sleep, but laid there, until around 5:30. I got up, went to the bathroom, and on to the kitchen to start the coffee. I felt as if a weight was sitting on my chest. I checked my O2 level, and it was only 96. Then, I started dry coughing. It's now,7:19 am, and I still feel heavy in my chest, and still coughing a little bit. I checked my O2, and it's back up to 98. BP is 141/89 with pulse at 79. I haven't done anything this morning, except sit down here, and log in. I don't have a temp.

I'll be paying close attention to my body, today, and if things get worse, I'll go to the ER. I've never had any heart issues.

Saying a small prayer for me would be greatly appreciated.

Prayers for you SouthernBreeze.

Old Gray Mare I always put my flour in the freezer for 2 weeks before storing it long term to kill any bug eggs that might be there. I put it in the freezer in its original sack. I put it in a plastic grocery bag to help protect from a hole getting poked in the paper bag. After two weeks you can take out and store as normal. But it is very important to remove the plastic bag and let the flour return to room temperature before storing. If not moisture trapped by the plastic will cause mold. Sorry you lost some flour.

Hmmm.... definitely don't ignore it. Sounds a bit hormonal/hot flash type feeling, but that heaviness in your chest is concerning. Praying you feel better quickly.

Thanks, Summerthyme. The last time I had this sensation flow over my body, I was in a full blown panic attack, and was taken to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. I was having trouble breathing, also. This may be all that it is, now, but I'm keeping a check on everything. I have my anti-anxiety med's on standby. I have been under a lot of stress, lately. Family issues, no less, plus dealing with my back issues.
