Happy last week of March!!

I spent the first part of this morning doing laundry and hanging it out on the line to day, plus working on organizing the tubs of kid clothes - didn't get it finished up, but there is rain in the forecast for the next two days, so I will have plenty of indoor time to fuss with it. Then I was able to talk Hubby and one boy into going outside with me - little one dug holes and Hubby scooped mulch from the trailer into my wheelbarrow so that I could dump and spread it in the flower beds; managed to get three of them done so that made me happy. It's going to take about 4 more loads - 2 under the clothesline area, and 2 more to do the 3 front flower beds, but that can wait until after Easter.

Won't be getting much prepping done this week as it's spring break for the kids, plus I'll be busy getting ready for Easter dinner with the family.

Rural King is on the agenda for this afternoon - maybe I'll pick up a box of ammo so I can honestly say I did a little prepping  I need bird feed and potting soil - and am hopeful that they will have pansies for sale in the garden area; if they don't, I may have to try to talk Hubby into going by Home Depot as well :)

Monday and Tuesday will be spring house cleaning; Wednesday - hopefully a clear, warmish day - will be washing windows. I may go to an indoor water park with daughter and grandsons Thursday afternoon to Friday evening if granddaughter has other commitments (track, etc...), then Saturday will be spent putting finishing touches on the house and prepping my contributions to Easter dinner - family will be carrying in side dishes and desserts.

Sounds like the youngest is ready to get out of the tub (yup, he was in the mud puddles again!) so I'd better go get him ready to head to town...

Take care all; have a blessed week!

Plan to do nothing this week. Call it mental decompression before it hits the fan.

I drove my fur to the fur buyer, about 50 miles away. On the way back cut four logs to bring back. When I burn gas I try to accomplish two things. I got the check deposited, along with the cash from cutting wood. Time to upgrade preps. I am thinking now.

Bought a case of sour kraut for 99 cents a jar. Got a good deal there. I can't buy it cheaper much less ship it in.

I need to inventory our pantry, shop supplies, tools. Then work on storing it all in usable way.

Then work on the freezer situation. The winter moose season is open.

Time to do the maintaince work on the snow go. Look it over real good.

It's nearly always a good plan to combine your errands into one trip, isn't it? I was much better at doing so when I worked night shift, but now I'm lucky to get off work before Aldi closes, and when I do manage to do so, I have about 5 minutes to get my shopping done before they shoo me out the doors. And I rarely shop Wal-Mart after dark, and almost never go to our local chain grocery store then - there is a low rent apartment building nearby so the parking lot is iffy then.

Isn't home canned chicken wonderful, OGM? We go through so much of it - I made cheesy chicken veggie soup earlier this week, and will using about a gallon of chicken broth and be adding a jar of chicken to the noodles I will make for Easter dinner.

'Winter moose season' - the thought makes me smile :) Are they starting to shed yet?

Today in April, I need to stop by the local grocery store and pay for my ham; I'll leave it there to be sliced and pick it up on Saturday. Then it will be on to Aldi to pick up a few items, and CVS to snag chocolate bunnies for the grandkids before I head back home to work on the Spring cleaning a bit more. I'm so looking forward to seeing my extended family on Easter Sunday!

I don't consider errands doing much of anything. Logging is real work. I am taking the family ice fishing in the morning, while they fish I will be logging, just enough to fill my sled, which is four logs, several more if they are small. The snowmobile burns the same amount of gas. No big deal I guess.

Ice fishing was awesome. Kids had blast, sledding and fishing. We caught lush fish, a kind of fresh water cod. I see fish and chips in our future, a nice change. It was fun and we visited with all kinds of people.
