Whew - where'd last week go?! It zipped right on by!

Prep work last week - and likely this week as well - included more organizing, clearing, cleaning - very few inputs. I have a fabulous opportunity to move out some of the grandkids outgrown toys and clothing to a rummage sale that will benefit a children's charity so that is in the works; and since dumping - err, I mean loaning daughter all of my Christmas holiday decorating stuff went so well, and following that up with a storage tub of her stuff that had been here since she graduated from high school, I took a chance on dropping off another of said storage tubs when I took the grandkids back home yesterday :D

Extra hours are continuing at work; I put a few of last week's benefits of that to use by bringing home a new bike for older grandson, volleyball/net for granddaughter, and some 1x6's for the little guy to make birdhouses with Papaw with. The rest of it will be going toward a washer and dryer - Hubs and I are arguing over new vs: used - I've never had a new set, and looking at the prices, if it were up to me, I never would! Hubby and I will be going on a search for a set tomorrow... we'll see what we come home with. It's warm enough out for me to use my wringer washer, so I'm going to take advantage of getting the old set out, ripping up flooring in the utility room, deep cleaning, and painting before the new set comes.

Darn, there's that alarm again - guess I'd better head out as the crew expects donuts again; 3 Sundays in a row - they are getting spoiled!

Take care all; stay safe out there!

Two beautiful days in a row - must be spring

Yesterday was spent driving to the city to meet with my cousin to get my taxes done ($4 refund; woo-hoo!)/have lunch/get caught up on what all is going on with that side of the family. Got home around 2:30 and Hubby and I grabbed chainsaw and loppers and headed down the road to an area on the farm that had been annoying me - a dozen or so scrub trees had grown on top of a hill where the road cut through; and also on the sheer face of the cut. We got all the trees down, cut into manageable pieces, and hauled to the brush pile/firewood stack. I still have a few sprouts I need to cut out, and I need to rake the up the detrius, then plant some starts of my Mama's double flowering ditch lillies (that are oozing over into my herb bed) on the sheer face to keep it from getting grown up again.

Today was a class at work, so 4 extra hours on this week's check, plus another 20 minutes that the class ran late. Then I ran to Hubby's shop and swapped him the truck for the van and trailer and headed to the yard waste site - I'd just started loading the trailer when one of the workers came up with a scoop and dumped one and a half scoops in my trailer for me. Gonna have to bake some cookies and drop 'em off for those guys :) Then it was off to Home Depot where I priced washers and dryers - and bought Hubby a present of a 4x8 sheet of 19/32 plywood and some 2x4's. He's wanting to extend the attic of the shed further over his shop, thus giving it a nice ceiling, so I thought I would give him the start of doing so - 9 more and he'll have it done :)

Popped in to Rural King on my way home for some suet for the birds and a couple of latches; detoured down the laundry aisle to get out of someones way which ended up being a good thing as I'd forgotten to write 'clothesline wire' on the list - picked up 2 - 50" rolls to replace the worst two of the 6 lines; that will also give me enough left from each roll to put lines in between each shed post - handy when it rains!

While I was at Rural King, I got a call from my work Buddy - he's coming down with a sinus infection and his doc wouldn't give him an antibiotic without seeing him, so he asked if I could pick up his shift tomorrow in trade for my Thursday or Friday shift; I said "Sure!" Checked out the weather when I got home and discovered that tomorrow is supposed to be cloudy/gloomy and 20*F chillier than Thursday and Friday, so it was a blessing for me that he had asked :) I had planned to mow after I got home from town today, but now will spend my evening catching up on laundry, doing a bit of cooking, and relaxing; I'll save the mowing for whichever day I have off.

Speaking of laundry and cooking, I reckon I'd better get at it!

Take care all; have a fabulous rest of the week!

Been a very busy week - I"m working Monday thru Sunday. Trying to work as many hours as possible between now and mid-July, and boy, my boss is happy I am!

Weather forecasters :kpc:

LOL! Well, they were correct on yesterday's weather, but today's is just as gloomy and cold as yesterday's - and it's sprinkling rain to boot, so I don't think I'll be mowing today! I'm just about ready to curl up on the couch with a warm throw and a good book and see how long it takes for me to doze off into a nap...

Made it to aqua aerobics with two of the neighbor ladies this morning, quick stop by Dollar General to pick up 3 more car washing mitts - I'd bought another dust mop - an O'Cedar Flip Mop - to replace mine because I forgot and left the original one (which was actually my Mama's) at daughter's house and she won't give it back  - but discovered that these car washing mitts will fit over each end of the newer mop, and have more dust mopping power than the original cover, so I now have enough that I can have one set in the laundry and have another set to use - or to replace the first set when they wear out.

Then I rode to daughter's town with one of the neighbor ladies to pick up our shared handy-man; she'll have him helping clean out her attics today. I made the trip because the foo-foo bakery had apple pie on the menu today :D Well, also because I needed to stop by the back to pick up some cash to cover my order from the latest prep deal our co-worker discovered - I sure do appreciate him finding these bargains, putting out the word, making the order; then distributing everything when it comes in. It sure is fantastic to have co-workers who believe as you do - makes me feel a lot safer if something happens while I'm at work, that's for sure!

Well, guess I'd better go find something useful to do before I succumb to the temptation of book and nap - take care all; stay safe!
