Good Morning, All! I've not had time to check the news yet, so I sure do hope it IS a good morning for all of us here!

Hoping to get back into the swing of things, prep wise. Zipped into WM Friday evening for an emergency can of hair spray for the cheerleaders (empty after 14 girls glued their hair into place lol!) and saw lots of winter outerwear going on clearance this week, so I will pick up winter coats for both grandsons; possibly for the granddaughter as well. Snow boots aren't on clearance yet, but I will pick up a few more pair of those as soon as they are. Still waiting for the wool/wool blend socks to show orange tags - it shouldn't be too much longer.

Food sales are meh per last week's mid week ads; haven't seen the upcoming ads as yet but am hopeful for sales on some canned items like salmon, etc... I like the mylar packs; just don't like opening 4 of them to make the same amount of salmon patties I can from a single can - and the can is recyclable whereas the mylar packs are not.

We have a small window of warm temps on the way - by warm, I mean above 20*F lol! We're going to do some outside clean up work - lots of dropped limbs, misc stuff blown in from across the field (I've gained several 5 gallon buckets this week, a trash can, and lots of assorted trash.) We may also head to the range - I need to work a bit with a different revolver as I caught Hubby carrying my back-up; and doing so without leaving me another back-up in place, not sure if his ears have recovered from that discovery yet... Poor man :)

Dang - there's the alarm; time to get ready to head out the door; see if night shift made it through the chaos we - or rather, the doctor - left behind. Gotta leave early to pick up the donuts; I may need the distraction to make my escape!

Take care all; wishing you all a good week!

Walgreen's was listening, bless their heart! 5 oz cans of pink salmon, 4/$5; I'll try to pick up a dozen before the sale ends on Saturday. They also have sour gummy worms that the kids like for $1.99/get $1.99 register reward, so I'll start each trip by purchasing the gummy worms, then use the resulting register reward toward the price of the salmon - that will give me three bags of gummy worms, one for each Easter Basket.

A dear friend sent me some coupons for Boost protein drink - out of the 3 papers I purchase, only one had the $7/2 coupon it it, so that was a blessing. I will pick up 4 - 6pks at $6.99-$7.99 each; so around $30 - 2 $7/2 coupons - $4 off $20 Boost purchase scanner coupon - $5 quarterly Extra Care Bucks - $3 home mailer Extra Care Bucks = $4 cash out of pocket; will receive a $10 ECB in return. I will do the deal a second time, using the coupons and the $10 ECB, pay $6 out of pocket, and receive a $10 ECB in return. I will need to check with my Uncle to make sure his friend can use the high protein type, or if that will put too much pressure on his kidneys; if so, I will just purchase the regular type, and save a couple bucks per deal.

Got some good news at the pool today - the hospital I work for is working with them to provide a discount on memberships! Being - cough - a senior citizen (by their standards lol!), I already get a break on my membership to $192/year plus 1 month free if I pay for the whole year in advance - with this new deal, I will get an additional $40 discount for being an employee of the hospital, woo hoo!! Now I just have to figure out a way to get 'points' toward my Wellness benefit for the aqua aerobics classes I do there....

The midweek ads came out in today's mail, so I will be carrying them to the ball game with me tonight to glance at prior to the game/at half time; hoping for some decent deals. If I don't find any, I'll see if there are any more kids coats on clearance at WM and pick up some to donate to the clothing pantry at the grandkid's schools instead.

Darn - I seem to live my life by that blasted alarm clock; time to head to the game!

Take care all; have a safe week!

Well, there weren't too many decent deals in the grocery ads....but daughter passed me a paper from younger grandson's book bag last night at the basketball game; his classroom was in need of glue sticks, M&Ms (large bag, color not important) and Skittles. I pulled 24 glue sticks out of the school supply tote, then went shopping since I wanted to get some bags of birdfeed to put in the back of the van for weight anyway.... Walgreen's had their holiday (Christmas) M&Ms on clearance for $1.28/bag and I had 5 - $1/2 coupons so 10 bags followed me to the car for $8 and change . Dollar General had Skittles on sale 2/$4, I had 5 - $1/2 Skittles coupons and a $3 Dollar General coupon, so 10 bags of those came with me to the car for $12 and tax. Apparently they are doing something with them that entails counting to 100 in order to celebrate the 100th day of school. I thought about offering the teacher my giant can of pennies for a 100 days project, since there are also working with money, but will wait and see if there is anything else she needs.

Speaking of money, older grandson wanted me to take him to the concession stand at the ball game, but since it's in eyesight of where we were sitting he's quite old enough to go himself, so I just handed him a $5. He came back with pizza, popcorn, soda, and a glum face - he'd wanted a sucker but the pizza was $2, popcorn $1, soda $1.50; so he had 50 cents left in his hand when he approached the candy counter..... where the girl tending the counter told him that the suckers were 2 for a dollar, so he thought he had to have a dollar, and he only had 50 cents  I ended up fishing some quarters out of the bottom of my game bag and going back to the concession stand with him and showing him that 2 for $1 was the same as 50 cents for one. And since I'd laid the 4 quarters from my purse down on the table to explain that 4 were a dollar, and he still had his 2 in his hand, he very quickly figured out that with my 4 and his 2 quarters, he could now buy THREE suckers; so he, little brother, and a friend all had suckers to eat - and I had to shell out for two more pieces of pizza and 2 sodas for the other two as well. No good deed goes unpunished

Back to work tomorrow and it looks like we have freezing rain in the forecast for tomorrow evening, starting shortly after I get off work and continuing in to Friday morning. I texted my co-worker Buddy who lives in our work town to find out if my sleeping bag is still in his guest room closet because I really didn't enjoy sliding sideways up the hill to get home from work when we had freezing rain Sunday night, and don't think I'd enjoy doing it again tomorrow night, nor sliding down one hill and up another one to get back to work on Friday either! Hubby is almost done with the clean up/tune up on the Mule so was thinking he'd bring it home tomorrow evening, but I don't see him pulling a trailer if he doesn't have to. I have to admit that I'll be excited to have it home - can't wait to see if my foot will reach the accelerator!!

We've got a cheer competition about an hour and a half from home to go to on Saturday, so I'm hoping that the roads are clear by then. Not sure how many of the grandkids I'll end up with after the competition, but I'm expecting at least two. I'll be stopping on the way home from the competition to do the Boost deal at CVS, and will pick up the early editions of the Sunday papers as well. Not sure if the kids will go home on Sunday as they don't have school Monday. If not, we can put up the Valentine's Day window clings/fridge magnets; and I just happened to snag three bright green t-shirts on clearance at WM for a buck each the other day, so we will have Papaw cut some stencils and go to town on decorating them to wear for St. Patrick's day (hopefully I can convince the short one not to paint his Shamrock orange... )

Wishing you all a blessed rest of the week...

Picked up an extra shift last night from 0200=0700. Boss was willing to pay incentive - an extra $10/hr - and I was able to get some homework done since we weren't busy.

Started back to school this week - one of my goals is to not eat out, but to always bring my lunch using stuff from the pantry. I have tons of pickled beets, other pickles, and fruit to use up. I was getting kinda burned out on plain applesauce, but found I can add about 2 tblsp of dry Jello (which I have a lot of too for some reason) and it changes the flavor. The peach was pretty tasty!

Got by the discount grocery Wednesday on my way home, and picked up some bottles of flower essence for $6 - they usually run $15. We've been eating from the freezer and pantry - I'm going to see how long I can go without buying groceries (except maybe bread and milk).

Great score on the silver, Ivan!

Moldy, adding a little Jello into applesauce, then putting it in the dehydrator makes for yummy fruit leather - the grandkids love my version of fruit roll-ups!
