Good Morning, All :)

Well, this is the week our schedule turns upside down again as Hubby goes back to his 'summer' job; better pay and better hours so he'll be happier - and that will make me happier

The major plan for this week is getting our new heater installed. Once I hand over the cash for that job (small, local business), I'll start saving up to have our handyman come out and do some work around the house and farm - painting, etc...

And then there is the pantry that need more organizing done to it (I swear that elves come in and move things around while I'm at work!) I'm going to try to stay home more this week - other than going to aqua aerobics with the neighbor ladies; the past few weeks of being on the go all the time has about used up all my 'people tolerance' - which has been taking a pretty good beat down at work so there isn't much left to begin with :p

Today is pick up the Sunday papers and donut day for work; no clue on whether the ads will have anything useful this week - there wasn't much that piqued my interest last week for sure! I'll be needing to snag some canned soup if I find it on sale - Hubby takes home canned soup in his lunch 4 days a week as he goes to his Mama's to eat, but on Saturday he takes a can of soup since he eats at work - jars don't bounce on concrete the same as they do on linoleum and he knows how much I love my canning jars

And there's my alarm to let me know it's about time to head out the door - take care folks; stay safe and stand strong - looks like things are really starting to warm up out there and warm weather will bring out the crazies in force!

Rough week last week - this one will be better. Worked up at the retirement place today. DH is amazing with what he can build. He keeps asking my opinion, but truthfully, what he comes up with is always so much better than I imagine!

I need to work on taxes, and do some comparison shopping with insurance. Some friends and I are going thrift shopping on Thursday - I can't wait!

Spent a lot of time in the last month getting my financial life in order. I am in the process of transferring my IRA to another company--that has not been a smooth process. I opened a brokerage account and a ROTH IRA. I finished my tax return and sent it in on Friday (I work part time for H&R Block, so I did my return for free). I will get a refund, mainly because I started a new full time job this year and contributed a lot to a 401(k) plan.

The only thing I saw on sale was Arm & Hammer laundry detergent for $1.99 a bottle after coupons. I'll probably get a couple.

I also picked up some overtime for the week at the hospital. Next week's check should be great :) But I'm tired! I'm getting too old for this.

Still decluttering every day and keeping up what I've already done. I've fallen off the schedule on the program I started, but making strides everyday. I can actually walk around in my office and not hang onto something to keep from tripping and falling. My living room is in great shape, finally got paintings and pictures hung on the walls, about three more and I'm done with that. I walk in my living room and it looks busy, I like that rather than a spartan look. My kitchen is about 2/3rds done, I've not left dishes in the sink in about 6 weeks, that's a milestone. I bought a new welcome mat for the front door and I sweep it off everyday. I'm looking to have a flower bed along the front of the house and have been digging planters out. The ants are bad in that space, but I read an article using DE, which I'm going to try. I saved it in My Pocket, so all I have to do is look it up.

Decluttering is what I'm doing for prep. If you can't find anything, what's the good in having it.

Stay Frosty friends,

Judy

Did some painting with left over paint this morning, helped DH load an old cow to take to the sale barn, and picked up blown off cottonwood branches on the way back from the corral. Pulled off the buds and put them in oil to pull out the constituants to make salve next fall. I don't like pulling buds off the trees, so I watch for the branches that have been torn off by the wind. Speaking of which, I"m a little concerned about my apricot tree that is budding - I mean, it's February, for crying out loud!

Six of those bottles of laundry detergent at $1.99 walked home with me. I keep a LOT of laundry soap in rotation, but always add when it is cheap. Nothing major in the sales for me, though I will be picking up a few things for the food bank on Saturday. My tax refund came in (in 6 days!) and has been distributed to various accounts and savings.

Started cleaning the front room of our house which is an added on room. It serves as DH's office, holds the only eating table we have, and has our wood stove and our big dehydrator. And its also the sand room, as we live in a sand box. Where we live has a lot of sand, the front room catches most of the sand that comes in on our shoes. DH is really good about changing his shoes before coming in the living room, me not that good. I swear the sand is almost 1/4 deep around the front door, and I've not been that great about sweeping in there. I do have a nice sisil rug in there that I took out yesterday and started cleaning in the rug area. I'm going to clean it in sections, too hard on my back to do the whole room at once. I'm gonna beat the sand out of the rug and wash it down, and bring it back in after the room is clean.

I've even found my oil lamp collection that has been packed for almost 7 years. I bought two flower pots last night at the auction we go to for $1 each, since I've added live plants to the house to help clean the air, we don't get any kind of ventilation in the house at all. Decorative flower pots are expensive.

As for prep I got a small order from subscribe and save from Amazon, I've decided not to order any thing on that for a few months to get my credit card paid down. I went kind of crazy during the holidays.
