Good Morning, All! Hoping today's post finds everyone safe and well.

A damaging tornado came through about 50 miles west of us yesterday afternoon; no loss of life, Thank God; but significant damage to over 100 homes. We will be taking supplies in to a local church this afternoon to donate. Please offer up prayers if you will, for the families who have been affected.

Daughter will drop off the grandsons later this morning; they will go to us to drop off the items; and then we will go back in to town this evening for the 'Bethlehem Walk' where they have set up various areas plus a meal - complete with tax collectors to accept your donation. The church is also a collection point for the Blessings in a Backpack program, so we will drop off our donations for that at the same time.

Today is supposed to be not too cold and not raining, so we are going to clean out the vehicles, check the emergency bags and restock them, and get the winter gear loaded in. I love my minivan because it is so versatile - can put up half the back seat so one brother isn't seated next to or behind the other one, etc... - I bet the Mama's reading this know exactly what I'm talking about  But that means I have to sometimes shuffle the gear around when seats go up or down, so I have to make sure what I'll likely need the most is easy to get to, that everything is contained so nothing goes flying if I would happen to get in an accident, and that most of it is in backpacks so we could take what we need with us if we have to leave the vehicle behind.

Our group buy coordinator is on a roll lately - two buys in November, and I hadn't even picked up my last order when he caught up with me at work with yet another deal; I checked the money I had in my pocket and told him my limit and to do what he thought best. He is such a blessing to the group - scouts out deals, takes orders, makes the buy and sets up pick up/deliveries. Many of us would not be in nearly as good of shape if he didn't take charge. Hope he doesn't find too many deals next month though - that's when my garden seed orders need to go in

I haven't laid eyes on the sale ads as yet, but with one more paycheck between now and Christmas I am liable to be more focused on my kids and local charities than I am on adding to the pantry. Unless there is a really fabulous sale on chicken, that is...

Guess I'd better get up and start getting some work done - take care all; stay safe out there!

Finally found a pair of shoes that would fit my Peggy Hill sized feet. The brand I have been wearing for years has been out of stock since last summer. These cost considerably more but I was out of options. Added 4 mos. of canned cat food to the stash, that will get us thru the winter. Stocked up on dh's OTC meds. I have to make a major Walmart run in the next week or so and I dread it. I hate to shop and people are worse this time of year than usual.

I'm about done with earthquake clean-up and am making my list for follow-up. I just cleaned out a spare room at my brother's house where I recently moved, and have been charged (happily) with getting the food situation squared away. There's plenty of it but it needs organizing and an inventory made so that's on my list for the month of December.

Beyond that, I have a storage unit to empty and a whole lot of reorganizing inside yet to do from my move. It's good to be busy, lol!

I've been weeding thru the clutter. Last move a lot of junk that should have been tossed got moved for lack of time and energy to go thru it all. More has accumulated since. I've also started exercising again. Need to loose weight, like that will happen over the Holidays. ;)

Brrr!! It's a chilly 14*F here this morning; I feel so blessed to have a warm house to live in...

I will be heading up to the pool as usual this morning; will be stopping on my way home to take advantage of a meat sale a local store is having today and over the weekend - I posted that I was hoping for a chicken sale and POOF!! - chicken breast 99 cents/lb!! They also have a few varieties of beef roasts on sale, so I will pick up enough of both to run at least 2 canner loads of chicken and 3 of beef. No IDPA match for Hubby this weekend, so he should have time to get everything prepped/canned while I am at work (heh heh heh!) Oh, I suppose I will at least try to get one canner load of chicken done today - if I don't have to take a nap after I get home... I spent last night with the grandsons, taking them to their wrestling matches; and then they decided that we all needed to sleep in my room... I swear that little one turned in at least three complete circles during the night - never knew if I was going to have a head, a foot, or a bony little elbow poking me in the ribs as the night progressed, so I could probably use a little catch up

I sold a little more hay. People are looking now that it has turned cold.

We vaccumed the part of the leaves out of the yard and mulched the lower garden with it. I still need to get a soil sample in for testing. I would like to try selling some produce next year. Not sure where i will get the time though.

We had another grandson born last week. He and mom are doing good. I will have 2 under age 2 to babysit when his mom goes back to work. This is my sons child. He has 4 others that their mother took out of state and we could not get them back. My son was accused of all kinds of stuff, and even though he had a step son that said he never saw any of those things, the other state just said they weren`t interested in what he said. It was a horrible experence. The xwife and new husband did the same thing to the new husbands xwife. They got custody of his kids from a different state than the one we live in. So they are drawing child support on 6 kids and had two together. Before they had the last two kids, the court papers said they were getting $1,200 a month in food stamps. She is a welfare queen. Her mother did the same thing to her dad. The men have no visitation but must pay child support. Hopefully the kids will contact us when they grow up. The oldest will be 15this month.

Now that we bought this property and have a large land payment, my cousin wants to sell mehis 4 acres that joins my property in another county. I want it for the creek access. But the timing could have been better. He wants a bit much for it, but hopefully we can come to an agreement.

Our snow storm they have been talking up all week looks to be fiizzling out. I wanted to see a little snow.
